- The price has gone up for the latest Australian Model Car Collection release - Issue 3, Ford XC Falcon "Cobra" in 1:43 scale. In this full review, we take a close look, see how it measures up (using a custom scale measurement calculator, which you can download for FREE), how it compares to previous releases and what's in the magazine that comes with the model.
The first three issues have covered a vehicle from Holden, Chrysler and now Ford, with plenty more to come, such as Toyota and others on the schedule.
EDIT: a list of 50 models in this series has subsequently popped up on the internet. I've posted it on my website, click this link to view: www.wixy500.co...
I’m a Ford man, and although I never really rated the old cobra, this is an impressive model
The reverse bonnet scoop is only on the "option 97" Cobras (a.k.a. "Bathurst Cobras"), which where cars numbered 002 to 0031.
Yeah, I realised that afterwards. Brain Fart moment lol
This is the only Cobra I've got, and I'm really happy with it. The rear windscreen shape is a bit disappointing, but for $24.99, thetes very little to genuinely complain about.
The reverse scoop was only on the Bathurst versions so it is correct not to have it. I agree these are such great value ,a already have the AA versions of everything theyve released so far but happy to buy these as well.
Ahhh yes, the 30 "Option 97" builds! I should read more carefully lol
Great video! Very informative. Would love to see Greenlight do this in 1/18. They already have the tooling from the “Mad Max “ Interceptor. Watching from USA.
Thank you - spread the word! ;)
XC Cobra has been done in 1:18 by both AutoArt and Classic Carlectables, but these days you'd probably have to look on the secondhand market to find them.
Sweet video, like i mentioned before, for the price there great value, compared to the cost of new traxs, Biante, and like you mentioned in your other videos, nice points you made, and well described variations from different brands ❤ Cheers🍻🍻 KC 🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🦘🌨🏔❄️👍
I've subscribed to the collection direct from their website and my next shipment, this and the EH Holden have been "in progress" for over 2 weeks now.
I'd say that delivery will arrive this week. Remember, the EH is not for sale until this Thursday.
Another great review. I’ve missed out on this one. Apparently you have to be at the newsagent at opening time on the Thursday they come out
yep all the collectors just go straight away then there gone
@@TH-cam_CREATORS903 I’ve subscribed now to your channel and the Australian car collection will be watching all your reviews but I think I’m going to be a month behind everyone else now
@@ClintonOLeaery same i just subscribed and starting on issue 2 cause i only had 1
For the money, cant go wrong with the cobra, i just got one, before sellout.
Interia detail a bonus shine torch inside 4 the $$ im happy
Is there going to be a way to track which car is next in the set (& the release date) after the first 12? I only want a select few.
Same deal here, I'd like to know what's #13 and beyond, but at this stage, no idea. I'd expect the newsagents will know at some stage as they need to be able to make a decision on quantities to order for future releases. But there's also the possibility that by the time the first 12 are done, the newsagents might have dropped them and they'll be available by subscription only??
@@wixy500 Yeah, I was thinking that. I've been into 3 newsagents talking to them about it but they don't seem to know much. I got the XC today (on its release day) & it was the last in store, so they're selling alright thus far. Is it just me or is the quality of service in shops these days pretty bad? You feel like it's a hassle for them to explain products they're selling ...
@@sentimentalbloke185 I think it is quality of service. If they were being sold at a hobby shop you would get good information but a newsagent with all their range doesn't care.
I got a sneak preview on their site of the next 12 there was some good stuff but it seems missing off the website now i cant find it. I do remember there was a VC valiant and VK Grp A blue meanie at number 20.
@@sentimentalbloke185 Their likelihood to engage is inversely proportional to the length of the queue?? lol Not something I've noticed tbh
The Monaro's windscreen and grille are out of whack. Possibly too narrow?
are you subscribed to them? cause I'm thinking about subscribing but it says subscribing plan is for the next 30 months but there's only 12 cars + exclusive.
No. I'm more into race cars but I've bought the first few because (a) they were cheap and (b) they might make good donors one day for race car conversions. There are 60 cars in the series.
@@wixy500 but i can only see 12 issues?
@@TH-cam_CREATORS903 Their website says the plan is for 60. Also, today a list of the first 50 in the series appeared on social media. I've uploaded it to my website >> www.wixy500.com/ixo-aussie-cars-list/
@@wixy500 thank you
Autoart cost.
Is that a question?
