- It was inevitable.
We tried our best but the GasGas GP 300 was just too good to resist! In this episode, we are extremely fortunate that due to the stars aligning I have been able to gain some much-needed support form the team at GasGas Uk and John Shirt Motorcycles in setting up this new weapon!
After having two back-to-back fuel-injected machines out will be difficult for me to go back right?
Well, we will have to see, won't we!?
Honest review, honest interview and a great new episode for 2024!

Amazing as always, loved the bit with John and his little insight into Colley and his yellow boots can’t wait till he comes to the Podcast that will be a great hour of tails of trials .
Keep up the work
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome work! This episode is a great watch. John comes across as very honest and sincere. Love this. More please!
John Shirt what a down to earth genuine bloke
Oh aye, great value in this one
Yeah ive raced with john on the enduros hes one of the best guys in the business
This is a banging video guys!
Thank you Wobs!
Awesome , great listening to John Shirt 👍
Thanks for listening
Great video! Did a 15 year stint on Gas Gas, 2000 to 2015, must of been lucky with the 2002 pro as did SSDT 1st year pro came out with no issues at all. Great to hear Shirty’s point of view, will always be the heart & soul of Gas Gas in the UK. Looking forward to the next podcast
Thanks for sharing!
Love the interview with John Shirt.
It was great to catch up with him!
Amazing, keep these vids coming!
Will do my best!
Excellent. Listened to every word. Great to hear John Shirt talking with you. If you can, interview him again when you both have time about those other topics. ;-)
We will get him along in the podcast!!
Great video Danny! Loved it 🙌🏻
Thank you 🙌
Great video Danny,I enjoyed your conversation with John,I knew his dad back in the day,a lovely, lovely man, good luck with the new bike,a great choice
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome love that bike. 👍
Me too!
I did have the yellow 1996 Gas Gas Jt 160. This shop reminds me of Jim Snell Rising Sun Imports in USA. Jim worked on my bike.
Amazing bike had one of them too (sleeved to 100cc for Uk c class)
I saw Steve Colley (among a bunch of other legends) at the world round here in 2001. I loved his yellow bike, my 2000 TXT 280 that I still have is painted yellow.
Haha banana power!
Ya know how I feel already I loved the sherco Danny, but Dam,I like this one too, good pick
Really thought you were going to hold out for "the future" (efi) - glad to see you came to your senses! I have the 2023 GP, hands down, best bike I've ever owned. Enjoy!
I am not sure they will ever go efi…. Shame like
Great vid 👍👍👍😃😃
Thanks 😁
Top guy John Shirt what a character 😂 👏 looking forward to the podcast 😁
Oh aye he is indeed!
Thanks again for the great content and details! Concerning the brake tip, this was the first thing I noticed on mine. Looking closer at the foot lever, I noticed that the stop screw didn’t line up with the frame stop. I bent it out away from the bike to line up better and now the brake is much more reachable and comfortable to use.
Interesting I will check it….cant imagine it would be bent in. But we will see
@@TrialTube my thoughts were the same but mine was that way right from the showroom floor.
@@AdamTrew wow
Nice one , like that interview with jsm . Your bike sounds bloody nice as well 👍. Too many good bikes on the market 👍
It’s ain’t easy but we make it happen!
At the end of the day, I drool over this bike as I wait for it to be fuel injected.
I know the feeling
Nice one dude 👍🍻🏁
Thanks ✌
I had an 03 pro new. Leaked oil through porous holes in the crank case. Swore I’d never have another. 21 years later I’m about to buy one. Enjoy the new bike. 👍🏻
A lot has changed since then!
Haha Johns to honest about everything
But I think that’s ace.
Completely agree with bikes need to be fixed out on route with a few tools.
And S3 products look a wonderful and look “sexy” Brand definitely up there with the best.
We all love shiny stuff!
Had the pleasure of purchasing a TXT250 Racing from John a while back. Absolute gent, the bike was spot on and nothing was too much trouble. Looked after me well when I needed a bit of unexpected customer service. Would definitely buy another bike from JSM 👌
Great to hear!
Nice Bike! Gas gas is a great bike, One of my old ones 2002 edition 280, is still going strong, Ive had it for 17 years now and no real complaints. I just picked up a cabestany 290 for cheap that is mint, and when I go new I will go Gas gas for sure.
Right on!
Great chat with mr Shirt …..he’s like guy martins brother ! Lol 😂🏁 loved the video ,subscribe was easy
Thank you!!!
I hate you. Every time you get a new bike I want that bike. Gas Gas is the OG brand in trials.
Great content as always 👍
Hahahaha well you know what to do!
johns right about the fuel injections, that's exactly my thought train ,and why i bought my TRS RR 300 and not a sherco or a vertigo :) John senior used to build my engines when i rode for SHM with a 200 Majesty engine in a miller highboy frame . sunny Buxton, both days of the year lol 😁
Haha I have never seen either of them days
Definitely made the right choice👍🔴
Thank you!! I am enjoying it so far!
what happened to the Sherco ?
the kickstarter hits the footpeg every time
It does on most bikes….
@@TrialTube not in Beta hahaha
GasGas (read KTM) over producing and flogging off surplus stock new bikes at 2nd hand prices is killing the 2nd hand market and the smaller niche producers......watch the next year or 2 and see how many small producers become insolvent
It’s worse when the smaller producers can’t help but release too many models and devalue their own brand?
@@TrialTubeperfect storm at the moment. New models from gg, sherco, scorpa and vertigo at the same time as gg flooding the market with cheap NOS bikes. As a plus getting a secondhand bike has never been cheaper.
@@timlewis5527 it’s a great time to be alive!
l sell GG, Sherco, BETA, EM, TRS and Montesa at one shop in the USA. You just summed up the US trials market perfectly. They get forced on every GG dealership, even though 99% of the dealers in the US have no clue about trials or a customer for that bike so they end up selling them for no profit thus de-valuing the brand and the market. Going to be a rough ride ahead for some of the brands that don't have a enduro or street bike to sell as well.
Great video thanks nice to hear from John and his wise words of a good dealer set up. Not a lot of why you gave up on the Sherco very interested on your thoughts on it .
I will go into further details next time around
I feel vindicated for trading you for so long about the GG 😅 looking forward to the podcast now! 😅
If only all motorcycle dealers were cut from the same cloth as John. Get it right from the off 👍
Well, I can’t lie he is very stringent!
Great video as always. Had 4 GG's. Last one was 2000. One thing you'll learn, is that you'll need to have like a three year supply of riding pants. Nothing gets hotter than that big curled exhaust header. That thing gets scorching hot, and will melt through a pair of riding pants in a nano-second. Worst Trials bike burn I ever saw was a GG with a young lady who fell over and got her leg trapped beneath that pipe. Right down to the meat! Ugh. That said, I'm still riding a Beta, but when I do get the hankering for a new bike, it'll "probably" be a GG. Keep up the good work.
Oh trust me, I have the same burn from when I was a lad.. fortunately a bit stronger now but I know what’s saying
I had a carbon shield on a 1999 GG to get around this issue. Don't recall who made them,.
Absolutely spot on about pdi'n bikes to many dealers doing the bare minimum. Having to take a new bike to bits to make it right yourself is mental, doesn't need to happen on road bikes so should with offroad stuff
They spent a whole day putting it together and so far it’s been perfect!
@@TrialTube normally takes me a full day sorting a new enduro bike like so must be right 👍 I like how they doing beta now aswell could be a option if I ever switch from sherco
The 21 gp is a nicer bike as far as fit and finish. The carbon air box is icing on cake.
I agree and miss that extra for sure!
Raga has carb on his sherco🤔
He has indeed
Yes but for how long
@@davidevorider2002 topical!
Shirty what a guy! - mate get him on the Podcast! let's get some dirt on squeaky clean Colley ;) all fun I'm stuff I'm sure! S3 is a top-notch brand!
Oh yes, 1000% and Colley would be a great guest
I had this happen to me turns out i had a hole in the boot of my airfiler side and was sucking too much air in its proper scary when it happens haha
It is!!!
I have one and the brake pedal plate is ridiculously small and tucked in. It’s hard to get to by feel if you need to hit the brake quickly. I’m going to machine my own to make it larger. I’ve searched the world over and can’t find an aftermarket plate. I wish S3 had one.
Apico do a bigger one it seems, I am gonna try that
Brilliant video as always Danny! Question for you, any chance of an honest review on an old scorpa sy250 please🤞
If I can get my hands on a perfect condition one
I can lend you one, 2008 nice clean bike
@@APRILIA_SXV_MXV_RXV drop me a message on insta with some pics dude!
Isa a bit drunk it is Friday 😂 I live 40 mins away and didn’t no about this place so you have done a great advert for this place… isa need a Gasgas jacket from there!! Get ya podcast up your one week late….. just because you got a new sexy bike we still waiting for the podcast 😂😂👍♥️
Hahaha the podcast is out on Sunday!
I will say gas gas got it right with this bike. I have bought many shercos through the years but the new model with fuel injection scares me might be time to ck out another color bike
Maybe indeed!
We once bought a kx 65 and told them we wanted it PDI by the dealership after my nephew rode it around for a bit we found it had no oil in the gearbox 😮..... After that we did our own PDI
Oh wow, where was that?
@@TrialTube it was from Kawasaki centre in Batley about 30 years ago
@@cm-oo1td just making sire it wasn’t Shirty as he wouldn’t let that shit fly…
Love the S3 product but can be hard to get in Canada
Ahhhh I see ya problem, new importer opportunity?
All these bikes need an e start. Sorry, it would just be nice.
Some have it,
Good choice ❤ red
Cheers my man! Need check out some of your finished builds don’t we!
@@TrialTube yeah definitely we will get it done this year matey looking forward to seeing them put through there paces 👍
@@fozinwozz9738 I am sure they can handle it!
Great vid Danny and congrats on going Red! You picked up style points! TT followers should help promote Trial Tube by posting the video link wherever it's relevant and help Danny sell merch so he can eat.
Haha thanks man and getting trials people to share is harder than understanding the FIM no stop rule…😂
Life is to short to stick to one brand 😅. Ride what you want, not what others expect you to ride. Unless they pay you truckload of money 😂. As always … another great video.
Well said! Although I am waiting for the money to arrive lol
556 👍

Thank you! Don’t forget to share
Great review, Beta have the same problem with the brake tip, man needs to be a contortionist to get a toe on the tip !!
It’s true….
😂 Promo sm
???
The original pro nearly sent them bust, they went for a staple classic to a bike that didn’t work. Yeh it was the lightest bike but it had major issues, over heating, a clutch that was an off on switch , absolutely horrendous build quality and the over look was something of a kids painting. 2 years on it became a weapon and it is now .
Indeed, tough bike to bring back to life!
