Thank you so much for making videos. They are very helpful and thank you for the tips. I also have a Russian blue kitten. My kitten is little over 6 months. Thank you so much.
I love this ❤ I have an adopted male male Russian Blue. He was 7 when I adopted him and now he'll be turning 9 this christmas. The vet and I think he wasn't neutered until after he was 3 or 4 years old because I do have issues with him marking the carpet in the spare bedroom from time to time and unfortunatley the vets can't give me any helpful advice on that since he was tested for a UTI and everything came back normal, so I do the best I can by putting pee pads down. He also hates baths 😂 but sometimes his lower back and tail get infested with dandruff so maybe once or twice a year I'll bathe him using mane and tail shampoo, and then during winter I spray him with Burt's Bees for cats. Russian Blues can definitely be a handful compared to other kitties, but they are very affectionate and huge snugglers. 🩶💙
I had a Russian Blue adopt me. Either got out or was abandoned by someone. Have had her a month and a half now. I also have a Maine Coon mixed female. They are both around 2 years old. However, the Russian Blue keeps running after my other cat. I have tried the phermone sprays and other things. No luck so far. So have to keep her in my computer room at night and when I'm not home so as to prevent fighting and possible injuries.
Your channel is extremely informative! How would you objectively rate his shedding in the house from 1 to 10 (even after you groom him daily)? I am quite particular about cleanliness in my home so it would be very valuable to know your input on that 😊
Glad you’ve found it helpful! Spike’s shedding fluctuates depending on the season, in the winter I would rate his shedding a 1-2 (I barely notice his hairs!) But in the spring/summer it goes up to about a 4. Russian Blues do have very silky hair though so I find it very easy to pick off his hairs from any surfaces!
when you brush Spike's teeth-did you ever try a finger silicon brush to have more control and to get in further into the back teeth? also, is there a dental chew for cats (like "Milk-Bone" for dogs) for reducing plaque buildup? for nail clipping would it be possible to place Spike on a towel and literally rolling him up in it so that only his paws and head are exposed and he is comfortably restrained so you have greater control and can more carefully clip his nails (and avoid the "quick" area where the blood vessels are)
Hi! We haven’t tried the finger silicon brush, mainly because Spike loves to bite anything in his mouth. As far as chews go, it’s bad for cats to chew on hard treats for too long because cats do not have molars and they could break down their teeth. & Thanks for the towel suggestion, we’ll need to try it out!
Hello, may I ask where to buy your silicon teeth brush? I searched for a lot of place but cannot find the same one. I really like it. Could you send the buying links to me? Taobao is also fine. Thanks in advance!

Hi! We use a standard steam pan actually instead of a litter box, which is known to prevent odors. You can find one in most kitchen supply stores or online!
Hey I have just got my Russian blue and suffering with allergies but aside from that she is a handful to bathe and groom still persevering and make sure I don't have her on certain furniture etc which is a huge challenge any quick fire tips when you haven't got someone to help you do this!
Hi there! If bathing is too much, there are some dry pet shampoos available-- Since cats don't need to be bathed unless they get really dirty, I recommend trying that out since it won't be frequent. I'd also try out a few different brushes (silicon, metal, bristled) to see which one your cat likes to make that easier. Re: furniture, there is also double sided sticky tape you can put on furniture-- cats usually hate the feeling and overtime will get conditioned not to go on the pieces that have that. Once they get conditioned, you can generally take it off. Hope this helps!
Hi! Generally cat’s ears don’t need to be cleaned because they keep those clean themselves. To clean his eyes, we wet the corner of a paper towel and gently pick off any eye boogers he has in the corners
I can recommend putting water in the tub instead of pouring water over cuz that can be scary for them. That really helped my cat :) good tip with the rubbing the towels 👀 Also need this toothpaste cuz my cat hates His current one…
If a cat has an illness or dry skin, it's necessary to clean them from time to time. It's important to make sure they are familiar with it as a kitten aswell to ensure they feel safe during the bath, you also have to clean their (what's a kind word for 🍑?) from 💩 from time to time, as they might not be able to properly clean private areas as easily.
What a joke! Cats groom themselves all day long and they don't need grooming from humans except for the occasional brushing. Stop fussing over your pet and read the Bible instead.
Hey all! Here are the timestamps for each topic:
0:48 - Brushing fur
2:04 - Brushing teeth
3:02 - Bathing

Thanks for watching. :)
Thank you for this! I pick up my Russian blue kitten Next week and I'm absorbing as much info as I can 🙂
So exciting!

Hiii where did you get the stainless steel cat litter box from? I’m getting everything ready for my Russian blue kitten that’s coming next month🤗

Make a viedo where you take him to petco
Imma get a Russian blue male kitten
😃👍🐱❤️
The bathing is so unnecessary, also bad for the coat. Cats are self cleaning. Why put him through that for no reason?

Our Russian doesn’t need any of this stuff. He’s fine
