I'm stunned Matt Parker didn't win the Abel Prize for his ground-breaking work in _applied Parker Square failure analysis using stochastic domino computational methods._
🤣😂🤣😂 Or Neil Degrasse Tyson for his groundbreaking work on conspiracy theories presented on the venerable Joe Rogan’s podcast! 🤣😂🤣😂
Congratulations to Michel Talagrand for the 2024 Abel Prize! It is nice to think that the prize money will be added (as he announces here) to that of the Shaw prize he was awarded in 2019 to create a foundation that will also award prizes in mathematics. Kindness associated with passion.
Thank you Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters and the Ministry of Education for continuing to offer the Abel Prize. Congratulations to Michel Talagrand on this achievement. Matt Parker looking sharp; it is cool that you get to be a part of this presentation. Cheerful Calculations! 🧮
I'm in 11th grade. I hope that when I grow up, I will be a mathematician that will make a name for itself in the world. ✨
prof talagrand is so generous and selfless, awesome. Donating not one but two huge prize money sums is not easy, or common especially being an academic
Congratulations Dr. Talagrand!
Matt Parker?! That's cool to see him here.
Congratulations👏👏👏
Matt, what an honour! Congrats!
I am very happy for him. Because working in pure mathematics and statistics is very difficult and is not clear. But, it is very applicable.
Congratulations🎉🎉
Exactly !!! March
Congratulations!!!! Woohoo!!!
Matt, "dice" is plural. You roll one die.
neat !! 😀😀
march not mars btw. might wanna change?
The Abel prize is named after Norwegian mathematician Niels Henrik Abel, and awarded by The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, whose president is Norwegian. In Norwegian the month is called "Mars".
It is revealing to look at the etymology of day and month names.
@@hoon_sol that's funny
@@TranquilSeaOfMath sry but nah not me
Is this more prestigious than the fields metal?
In terms of frequency, the Abel prize is awarded to one person each year whereas the Fields medal is awarded to four people every four years, so it’s really the same. However, the Fields medal is restricted to mathematicians under 40 whereas the Abel prize has no age limit (almost an unofficial lifetime achievement award), so in my opinion they serve different purposes.
A rare case of someone speaking English as a second language yet I have no idea what he's talking about, and I used to be an English language teacher. lol.
Academy of science and lettuce
Hold on… I recognize that Matt! 😄

Generic chaining is great
Seriously guys, WHITE world is all about awards and no work😅 BTW MATHS is not 300 years old as you want me to believe.
Nice Tuxedo= Great Mathematician.
right..
