I definitely enjoyed the game, along with Dragon Rising.
Yes, they both have got glitches, and obviously cannot stand up to ARMA, but ARMA is on the computer, this was another expansion of the OFP series for consoles originally. So, naturally, especially with Dragon Rising, the glitches, in an open world setting is going to come.. But for sure it was a really fun good game...
This one was pretty good. I like the involvement and how the soldiers acted, it felt more controlled, a tad bit more realistic, but we lost open world for a semi-linear game. It also had its share of glitches, etc...
All in all, good game...
Add more vehicles in it will be much better stell good game
I've played Operation Flashpoint and avidly play ArmA 2, waiting anticipated for ArmA 3
damn the PLA is so badass in both Dragon Rising and Red River, if i had to pick a side to fight for, PLA for sure!

For a buffer zone possibly. No major power enjoys knowing that another major power has a launching platform so close to home. It's a reason the Chinese choose to keep and help N. Korea rather than get rid of it since that would essentially put American forces right at the doorstep of China. It may be paranoia, but no one likes a perceived enemy that close to them. This is just speculation though as far as the game is concerned.

However, they didn't last long against the Persians, and once the Persian flanked them, they ran off like little children. Only the Spartans refused to retreat and instead fought to the last man ^^

The PLA are insane. This whole game is insane. The only thing i can say for certain is you can't predict anything.
My weapon has jammed. My team mates have been shot. My cover has exploded and sent my weapon flying towards the enemy. This is just a game. This thing is the biggest test of skill i have ever seen. If you want to prove you can game, play this. Because you dont have my respect untill you do.
Got this game the other day, i would highly recommend it. co-op system is awesome, great fun with friends.
@evertonjf08, comparing the S.A.S to the Seals is like apples to oranges. Just like comparing Green Berets to F.F.L or the Seals. S.A.S specializes in cqc, hostage rescue, and night raids on land. Seals focus on ship taking, sea infiltration, and HAHO jumps. Depending on the situation, either one could win. The best trained special operators in the world are Spetznaz.

For instance, he claimed that the game was an open-world sandbox game, when in reality, the sandbox was restricted; As in battlefield, traveling to far would automaticly fail the mission - and all missions also had to be completed in a certain amount of time - while - according to Sion Lenton, the whole environment is there for the player
My stepdad's friend Zachary Sherman was the guy that wrote the story and script for this game.
Befor playing had to look at trailer to get pumped up!
This game had so much potential for player vs player online gameplay. I really hope they consider that option for their next game.

China has about 500 Type-98/99 Tanks.
The US have 800 F-15 Eagles, 2200 F-16 Falcons & 750 AH64 Apaches.
China has 80 SU-27, 100 SU-30, 90 J-10 & 8 WZ-10 Helicopters.
We have AWACS, flying Tankers, and 11 Carriers + 50 Destroyers.
China has 1 Carrier & 21 Destroyers, we have real Combat Experience
from Afghanistan & Iraq, China has nothing, we have Delta Force, Airborne, Green Berets, Navy Seals,
Army Rangers, Marines, Task Force 11 & Co.

@GagiFromTheTribe I did that a couple years back when I was researching Nukes and WWII for an assignment... I saw the Tsar Bomba article after clicking on some articles related to Nukes... Good to know that other people know about it though.... aside from a friend of mine who is a War Nut.... Tsar Bomba was pretty damn epic though.
As long as there is more night time sniping, this should be good. Man that one mission in Dragon Rising was fun.

I'm just hoping that the player won't be "the guy in charge", aka a squad leader or something like in Dragon Rising. One of the things that made the first Operation Flashpoint so unique was that you were just a single pawn in the game, you were only one soldier in a batallion, following orders and trying to survive the horrors of the war. There's not a lot of games where they bother programming AI to directly interact with other AI depending on every single tiny event like in OF nowadays.

They were systematically giving out warning to people, and even banning people from the official forums in case they were complaining about the game. They have even used shadowbanns and censored post various times. If you don’t believe me ask at the forums and look around. Many great people have left.
@GagiFromTheTribe Tsar Bomba was the most powerful clean nuke. its yield was about 50 megatons of tnt, they could have made it 100 megatons but that would have generated exessive fallout that would have fallen on russian territory. it is known as the cleanest bomb relative to yield due to this modification and was the most physically powerful force ever deployed by humanity. the tsar bomba 3 stage hydrogen bomb was twice as powerful as the us's largest nuke. It produced 1.4% of the suns output

I have both and i love them. But I personally think why people don't like this game is because they want a typical fps like Cod or Battlefield. OF:DR and OF:RR require skill and it can get frustrating at times if you don't like planning attacks and stuff. But I recommend you get OF:RR if you like OF:DR
@conkerkillers4 it was the only way to defeat an enemy that would never surrender or stop under normal circumstances

@conkerkillers4 although dropping the bombs was something no one wanted to do, and may have been one of the most difficult presidential decisions in history, japan was asked to surrender, and they wouldnt, therefore on august 6 the 1st "ATOM" bomb was dropped, the second on august 9, leading to there surrender 6 whole days later on august 15.

I think the same, the Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crysis /Resistance/Red Hammer, was so fantastic, so realistic, i was desappointed with the lastest game of this series, i was expecting a real war game, but that doesn't happen :(

That's true, but I want a larger weapon selection example: Rifleman- M16A4, M4A1, M27IAR, FN SCAR. Marksman- M21, M39EMR, M40A3, M82A3, etc. What I also meant for weapon selection is in the multiplayer. As for the campaign, MW had a great story, but that's where it ends.
The perfect game: modern warfare weapon selection and offline multiplayer, BF3 graphics and fluid motion, and OF realism. I'd easily pay 2x what a normal game costs just to have that.

There aren’t many forums where 90% of the community complain about the game which is the case for the red river forums. There aren’t many games that have been bashed so much as red river, and there aren’t many games that have sold so bad. The reason for this is not ''haters''. It’s because the majority simply don’t like the game. Explaining bad sales and say its because of 'haters' is ignorant.
DR sold roughly 877,837 copies (xbox360). RR sold 141,001 copies (xbox360).
so you have two major military powers with equal technology. The U.S. has battle hardened marines who have been fighting in the middle east for quite some time. The Chinese have a relatively green army which has not partaken in many major actions, but has the advantage in numbers and closeness to their homeland. Take your pick.
This game will be better if they add:
- Invincibility mode
- More bloom
- Even more bloom
- More blur
- Even more blur
- More colourfull atmosphere (pink and yellow sky etc)
- Zombie mode
- Perks like flying man perks, space invader, rambo, atomic bomb etc
- The AI must be lower it looks to hard
- No COOP mode (coop people scream in your ear in the mic)
- Remove healing packs (you dont get hurt by bullets unless killed)
I dont understand why so many people hate this game? I love it! i love playing it with my friends especially when were in an intense firefight in an open enviroment and mountains where we have to work together to find the enemy. I never played Dragon Rising but i might pick it up.But i love this game for the co-op.

That film was true, 300 psartans against tens of thousands of persians, they held out because the only was through was a small canyon that the spartans could just hold them from going through, the real expression is tactics win battles, but numbers sure do help.

@Sure, but that's relatively minor. There's real FLIR, real guided missiles, aiming deadzone, AMAZING dogfights with fast jets and helicopters, Great player movement, far more vehicles, the ability to look around without changing the direction in which you're aiming (Tons more important than you think) and much, much more. Yeah, I'll stick with ARMA 2.

I like the OF games, they're really realistic and the graphics are spectacular. As far as these people commenting about Afghanistan and the conditions over there, please before you start acting like you know what you're talking about do a few tours of duty over there and experience it first hand, rather than quoting statistics out of Wikipedia articles you know nothing about.

i like the characters movement in MW and MW2 and Black ops..and how they look and scream and take cover like their life depends on it....but Ramirez kills them all in less than 2 hours of gameplay.
they should look what made the campaign in CoD-MW series good and make it longer,better and make the main characters less of a bullet magnet rambo into a soldier who wanna live to see a another battle without getting hit by bullet.

@RedRiverChannel I didn' t try the first Operation Flashpoint so i don't know how realistic.I made a mistake.
I say instead:this is the most realistic war game in X360.The next OpFlash might be better and more realistic.
@samj5664 arma was the succesor game to the original operation flashpoin: cold war conflict, OFP 1 was a civilian version of VBS 1 (virtual battlefield simulator, i think thats what it stands for) the reason this is compared to arma is because arma fans are the oldschool flashpoint fans, while ofp now teds to be more about fun its left behind its hardcore fanbase to apeal to the larger mainstream audience. honestly i dont mind this but atleast i would like some more abilities on kb\m ala leaning
yet another modern warfare based first person shooter. personally i've just about had my fill of these.
the upside is that i enjoy many other game genre, so i won't miss another FPS.
I will get it, quite fun though. At least I can feel gravity when sniping when other games such as CoD, bullets just fly like in space.

m21 and m39 are just m14s with different stocks, theres already two in the game.
ArmA is the real continuation of "Operation Flashpoint"
This game isn't that bad at all actually it's fun playing it. quite an improvement from the last version.
