Places like this should be available to all as affordable spas with massage, exercise, and healing food, instead of privately owned elite resorts with alcohol. I love the rooms.
I am planning to visit on 31 Oct for one night stay. My flight arrives in KEF airport at 2.30pm. Do you think it’s worth it to stay there for one night as I will be checking in earliest at 4 plus 5pm.
If you are leaving early next day prob not - kind of depends on the rate. Maybe check out hotel 101 in Reykjavik, and splurge on a nice meal (they have a great restaurant that's around the corner) and do the thermal baths at Sky Lagoon.... all of that will probably be less than the Silica. Just a thought
Very helpful thank you and beautiful. Quick question please if one stays at the silica is there a shuttle or other public transport to the airport? I don’t want to hire a car.
See my Iceland experiences video for N lights advice. If N lights are out you can see from there. 1 night seems rushed but depends how long you are in Iceland. Have fun
Honestyly I dont think the price differce is worth it... I'd stay at the Silica... it's 85% as good at maybe at 40% of the cost. You could book dinner at the reataruant at the Retreat to kind of get that Retreat experience. I think you can book the Retreat spa sperately too. Have fun.
@@SwankGuide Thank you soooo much for this reply! I have been so conflicted about this. I'm not a "hedge funder," lol so I wanted to be smart about this decision. You just made it easy for me✨️. Thanks so much! I looove your videos and I trust your recommendations. I wish your channel much success!
I was there in late September. Fall weather can be surprisingly warm... but of course it can get cold and rain. Mid Sept to mid Oct may be ideal b/c prices are genrally lower than summer, weather can stil be good, and you also have the chance to see the N lights - if you go in June it will barely het dark. Have fun
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I will be staying at the Silica Hotel in some weeks and cannot wait for it! Do guests get a silica mask at the private lagoon?
Hmmm... I'd say October through April - I say that b/c it can get warm in the summer at times - and I dont think I'd love the lagoons when it's warmish out (of course that's relative - it;'s Iceland after all). Thanks for watching [by the way I was there in October - good month b/c fewer tourists and weater can still be good some days.

Never thought I'd want to go, but this changed my mind about chilly destinations! Superb!!
This place is divine 💙💙💙
I was just at the Blue Lagoon last week. It was very unique and very relaxing. I enjoyed everything there, the water, the drinks and the masks 😁.
Glad to know it's open again
Omg! That view from the room!! Absolutely gorgeous!
I know right. Thanks for watching
This video was exceptional! thank you
You're very welcome!

Wouldn’t that be nice. If you look at my Greenhouse hotel in Iceland review I highlighted a public pool and natural spring so they do exist in Iceland
Thank you for the info,!!
Any time!
Thank you so much for this video. You’re the only one who’s ever said how much it take to walk to the the BL from silica hotel.
You are so welcome!
Just subscribe to your channel, even if I don’t get to all these places, I can definitely dream watch them while have a good drink and dinner 😎
Welcome to the fam.... so gald you enjoy it!
Amazing. I stayed at the Retreat recently and want to do Silica next.
Silica not as fancy as the Retreat - but much more reasonably priced and really good i think.

I’ve decided that taking Iceland air is the way to go to get to Frankfurt and get a little jet lag off before I go to Germany to visit my friends.
Good idea!
Sorry I'm not sure.... I rented a car... I'd ask the hotel. Have fun
Would you say this its worth staying on my last two days in iceland or just doing 1 night. Also were you able to see the Northern Lights?
See my Iceland experiences video for N lights advice. If N lights are out you can see from there. 1 night seems rushed but depends how long you are in Iceland. Have fun
If you could choose to spend a full day and a night the retreat or silica which would it be? And is the price difference worth it? Thanks in advance!

You are very welcome and thanks for the kind words. Don@@randommusings4957
What time of year did you go, and what is the most desirable?

It should be in the welcome email, but here it is: swank001
Can you swim in the lagoon, right from your room? Or is it just a really nice view? Lol
The lagoon is cold so I wouldn't swim in it. Have fun

Thanks - I really appreciate that. have a great time - Iceland's awesome.
re mask assme u mean mud mask? If so - yup u can get that at the private lagoon
When’s the best time to go to Iceland and experience the lagoons?

Can u swim from that view?
I wouldn't - but the hot thermal bath are a 1 min walk away
People are running in terror from there now. Probably gonna be all gone in a little while.
For good reason
The camera angles and shots are almost too good in this video. You put a lot of professional to shame.
Thanks Marc, that means a lot.
