Thanks for posting this. I noticed my truck fluttering about a week or two ago and seen this video last night. I noticed my MXS leaking today and it looks like it’s the 3/8 fuel line or the fitting.

The 90 degree elbow at the back of the head is rotated loose 45 degrees CCW in this video. This fact is leaking more fuel than the o'ring break. Make certain to torque the lock nut upon re-installation. Under the locknut, I am trusting that your fitting has full thread length engagement. Some of these fittings do not and are a PITA to hold torque.

Great tip!! Servicing that line on a non hood blows, can barely get to it on my FLD120 can't imagine a Cascadia. And they are out there.

I can imagine it would be a pain on something with the motor half under the cab. On an extended hood Pete or W900L it’s even easier than my short hood Pete.

i have a 3406e 5ek and i had that flutter where when i got on the throttle the rpm needle would would not be steady it would move back and forth as i accelerate so i went to change out both fuel filters and now i can't get it started how did you get yours started when you had a hard time priming it every time i pump the hand pump the fuel water separator keeps going empty and some fuel is getting pass the hand pump when i pump it I am a dirt hauler so i am not working right now so i did not call out a mechanic yet thank you for the video

J T This truck is sometimes hard to prime when the water separator on the frame is changed. It’s like it loses prime. I’ll fill the filters with fuel and crank it until it starts. It’ll usually run for a bit then start to stumble. Shut it off, pull the filters and top them off with fuel. Every once and awhile it’ll take a couple rounds of this. I think what happens is when that water separator is off most of the fuel drains back to the tank and you have to get it drawn back up to the filters and then push all the air out.
Something that also works is if you can get it started while it’s stumbling you can pump the primer and help get the air out. Your fuel transfer pump could be getting weak. It’s hard to say from here without asking a ton of questions.
I hope you get it running and back to work!

Do you think it would flutter. And not leak out

It could, I noticed mine being off a bit before it actually started leaking. There are several things in the fuel supply system that could make it run less than ideal. A suction leak somewhere could do it as well and you wouldn’t necessarily see a leak. There are valves in the filter head that cause issues and even the fuel supply pump could be weak.
