- Here's presenting one of the most requested videos on my profile- the NIFT Mumbai Hostel tour!! I stayed at the hostel for two years before the pandemic and then for a month now before graduation. Honestly, the hostel has always felt like home and here's a lil tour for y'all.

Honestly speaking, it's the most convenient place you can be at. Imagine you don't have to care about what you will eat for the next meal or electricity or water or anything at all! In Kharghar water is available only in limited timings in most of the places and then in the hostel there is water and electricity 24×7. There are about 10 machines for your laundry and 2 fridges to store your stuff and an induction for your late night maggi. There is a decently fair gym for you fitness and all sorts of games which you can play anytime. The didis are there to cater to any of your needs, whether it is cleaning your room or balcony or the toilet all round the clock.The only disadvantage you could ever think of in the hostel is the in time which Is 9 pm and the food which gets monotonous at times but is healthy. Seeing friends living outside and getting completely puzzled to manage their life, I feel hostel is the perfect option for people who are staying alone.

my questions are-:
1) What kind of laptop do we need for bdes? Is having a Mac necessary? Or can we use a high functioning gaming laptop since i have heard rendering our projects require good speed and quality laptop. Also if we go for normal laptops will the design softwares work just as fine on them as a Mac?
2) I have heard that we get the hostel rooms on some kind of lottery basis. Is that true? Also heard hostel is only for first years and after that we might or might not get rooms? Is that true?
3)If we want to keep our personal induction in our room is that allowed? or do we have to use the one provided by the hostel?
4) I am guessing for the Mumbai campus college is 2 minutes away from the hostel or do we have to travel?
5) Can we start doing internships from first year? what would you recommend and what are your thoughts on job opportunities in Mumbai?

1. Any good laptop works. There’s no specification for Macbooks being a must.
2. Yes, that’s right.
3. You have to use the common one only.
4. Yes, its at a walking distance. Autos are available too, if you want.
5. Yes, definitely. If you want to!!

Hey!! There are different types of rooms: AC, Non-Ac, dorms, etc. The charge depends upon the type of room you opt for❤️

Do we have to get permission every time we go out of hostel ? (Before 9:30 pm or any allotted time) or can we go somewhere directly from the college without permission and come back at given time?

You can go anywhere you want as long as you reach back before 9 PM. You can take nightouts too but you need your parent’s permission.

Hostel fee increases every year. Also, the fee depends on what kinda room you're taking. Like there's AC and Non-AC rooms and then dorms too so yeah. And lastly, it used to be for a whole year before pandemic but now things might change. Hope this helped :)

Any laptop with a good RAM works, preferably touch screen. I use the HP ConvertibleX360

Hey!! I lived in the hostel for two years before the pandemic and then right now for just a month. So, I didn’t really shoot much content there because there’s not much space in the rooms. I pre-shot all my content at home.
hey how far is the college from hostel , is it compulsory to take the bus or we can use our personal convenience ?
It's almost at a 5-7 mins of walking distance. Ig you can't bring your own vehicle at the hostel but taking the bus ain't compulsory tho.

Its a vocational course. And fashion education in private colleges are way more expensive.

Kettle and microwave is not allowed. There’s a common induction that you can use.

There are no guest room for parents. Parents have to stay outside.

There’s a guest house for parents. Parent’s can book their rooms in the guest house accordingly. Its not free. Currently, due to Covid, its also being used as a residence for visiting faculties.

Hey! All I can share is that it is inside the college campus, accommodation is a limited, the mess is the same as the college mess, and there’s other facilities like gym, playground, etc.
