To be joyful in the Lord when times are rough: -Repeating (bible memory, hour of prayer) be consistent and do it through the day -Remembering ( His goodness) -Rejoicing (praise God) Side Note: -Just because God doesn't answer our prayers the way we want doesn't mean He isn't answering. -God knows all things, He knows everyone's beginning & end. -"No" is an answer! "No" is an answer! God is not being mean by saying "no". He sees all things and He knows what is good for you even if you can't see it. -At the end of the day, God loves you and wants the very best for you. Trust in Him.
When there is nothing then God is everything. Rest in the word of true love. Tim I love you as a Christian brother in the Holy Spirit. God said “I AM” and Jesus Christ said “I AM THE TRUTH AND THE LIGHT IF YOU BELIEVE IN ME YOU BELIEVE IN HIM WHO SENT ME” for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. At the crucifixion God the son drank from the bitter cup and conquered death. The 2nd bitter cup is the division in the Church. The fig tree and the grape vines are without fruit because the fruits distract us from God’s everything. Let’s give up the lie of been a divided church. Jesus loved those who repented and nothing that he left on earth is perfect and that’s ok. Therefore we have to unite the church back to the Church on the day of Pentecost. You might tell me that the church became corrupt and I would agree but we have to start worshiping and repenting and taking the true blood of Christ and we have to baptize with Holy Oil in the Holy Spirit and we have to Be Born Of Fire in Christ Jesus and and and........ this all equals the true church. To be born again is not just to shed your old man of sin and wear the garment of immortality, the Ego of the saved modern Christian thinks that he or she is a born again but I say to you there is no born again Christian unless we feed each other and cloth each other and share the Holy Spirit amongst each other
I’m enjoying this so much. I’ve never heard of Tim Keller until I watched the unashamed podcast. Where Jase snd Al both mention him. So I looked him up. Since then everything is making sense, i have 7 books by him and take notes listening to these episodes. Wow, it’s amazing how he just gets straight to the point. And I like it because he takes us to scripture. I pray that mine and yours and everyone’s journey will be noticed by him. And that we can share our love through the good news. And encourage others to know who Jesus Christ is, and pray for our family’s and others that don’t know him. Or just need to turn to him and depend on his love faithfulness, and Grace. Thank you lord , I really wish I could have met this man. But I know he’s with his creator and our creator Jesus Christ our Messiah. ♥️🙏🏻✝️📖🕊️
I believe that the single greatest epiphany that God has ever granted to me is this: the most basic moral attribute of God’s character, the one out of which all others emerge or are informed, is his goodness. In fact, God IS absolute GOODness itself. Everything else about God, at least with regard to his moral character, must be understood in light of his goodness, must be seen as a function of his goodness. If, by way of analogy, his moral attributes were compared with the structure of a wagon wheel, his GOODNESS would be its hub. All the spokes radiating out from that center would be all his other (communicable) attributes, with the rim connecting them all, his holiness. But goodness is the hub! The center. The source. All true theology is rooted in this reality. Nothing is truly and rightly understood about the character of God but in light of his basic, essential, absolute goodness. Everything from his love, to his mercy, from his patience to his wrath. Everything. It only took me forty some years to suddenly, fully realize this. But it will never leave my heart or mind ever again.
Allan Gardener must have been absolutely filled with the Holy Spirit of GOD Almighty to have written what he wrote! GOD Bless you in all that you are doing, your sister in Christ, Julie 🙇
der Reverend, I am enjoying this format so much, I listen to you often, but to have Mrs Kathy Keller is absolutely great. So cool to put face on the co-writer of Meaning of Marriage ( and all your work probably)
O the unsearchable treasures of the wisdom of God! Thank you Tim and Kathy Keller for your obedience, imperfect as it may seem to you, it is a gift for all of us .
Wow! After listening to Tim's message, and then to his conversation with Kathy at the end, I followed her suggestion to watch Jonathan Evans' eulogy for his mom, gave me chills - the good kind! Thank you Tim and Kathy, this message is one I hope to bring to mind when times get tough
Thank you so much. Very thought provoking and encouraging. God answers our prayers they way we would have prayed them if we knew what God knows. Wow, that pierces my heart.
Greetings in the name of our Lord Christ Jesus, really benefiting spiritually from your videos and shared with a many of my friends, I wish that they may be translated in Urdu and available to many Urdu Speaking Christian Pakistani Community through FB and You Tube as well!
God telling those who listen that individuals under hardships and suffering can rest in God's ultimate care of a soul that looks to Him. My prayer has not been seeking God to prevent death or sickness but seeking His convicting work in the heart of my child that rejects Him, that his heart would see Christ and respond humbly and gratefully. Tell me again about God withholding answers to my prayer for something better? I believe it is better that my child stand among the redeemed than spend eternity in hell in rebellion against God. I believe Christ urged prayer in Luke 11 and guided Paul in Romans 4 to speak of stumbling not at God's promise to do what He has said: answer prayer for the sake of Christ's glory. Thou art coming to a king, large petitions with thee bring, for His grace and power are such, none can ever ask too much. Thankful to listen and think on these things.
8:07 This is a bit baffling because on the one hand Tim says there are absolutely bad things that happen that are genuinely bad things and not simply good things in disguise. Suppose I pray for protection and instead, one night I or my loved one is raped or murdered, traumatized for life. Am I really going to look back on that with total knowledge and say "yeah, I shouldn't have prayed for protection, getting raped and murdered and or struggling with PTSD for life was definitely the best option"? I suppose with complete knowledge we might see that God's will couldn't be accomplished without that terrible even happening but I definitely wouldn't say it was something we'd "pray for" in retrospect. Jesus knew his death on the cross would be horrible but he still begged not to be crucified even though he knew the final outcome - he submitted out of reverence for the Father's will, not so much for the final outcome "nevertheless, not my will but yours"
I just found Dr. Keller a week ago, this being July 2023. What a wealth of content I have until I meet my Brother in the Kingdom.
