I'm so glad you played my demo, thanks! A while ago I watched your analysis of why Source games are creepy and loved it, I still send it to friends when we talk about Source
Farming horror is such a great idea and I'm surprised I haven't seen more games who utilise this concept. You have the remote setting, you are there all by yourself, you have the creepy old barn and basement, you have a lot of tools that you can use to defend yourself and that can be used to kill you and the chance of someone actually helping you is practically zero. I don't have the guts to live all by myself in the middle of nowhere knowing stuff like this.
If it makes you feel any better, my (half) brother's farm is in the middle of nowhere, and has been in his family for 4 generations. It's really peaceful. Crime in the area is super low, what crime does exist happens in town and not out in the boonies. The "worst" thing he had to deal with was local kids occasionally drinking and fishing on his land and not cleaning up after themselves, but he eventually caught them and gave them an ass chewing. Now he lets them fish as long as they pick up their trash when they leave and he hasn't had a problem since.
technically land of the dead game had a pretty creepy starting level in a farm. Yeah, by today standards it's not as creepy, but as a kid that level terrified me so much.
I love the fact that in the beginning when the bathroom door opened I said. “Hmm must’ve been the wind.” Then Librarian immediately said that and I laughed so hard!
This looks like it'll be incredible when fully released. The painting mechanic is a genius bit of design; the player has enough information to be scared and dreading an encounter, but not so much information that tension is deflated. It didn't really seem like there were any active threats around outside of the end sequence, but if the full release mixes normal enemies, scripted encounters, scripted jumpscares, and a mix of micro-scares (i.e. audio, doors closing), this could be a consistently scary but engaging title.
The melancholic vibe this game transmitted was inmaculate. I resonate with garett in many ways, not due to trauma or whatever the reason he chose that life, but due to being a huge introvert. That and being a sucker for the creepy and comfy makes this game a gem. I'll wait forever for the complete version, just praying that it does come eventually.
Honestly, Librarian isn't for everyone, with the way he plays, especially with long form content, but for the people who DO like it, i'm sure we all REALLY like it.
Holy fuck, that ending jumpscare was the first scare in literal YEARS that actually got me. wow. I'm so looking forward to the full game, it might be one of the best ones lately released. I want to explore the full potential it has and it has a lot of it.
He's obviously in a not so great state of mind if he willingly threw the key out of the place without considering any dangers that could occur. Things like wild animals, strange people who might not have his best interests in mind, or suddenly have an emergency and have his whole dream life ruined just because he didn't like people (ie flooding, fire, mold that grows out of control, termite infestation).

I'm not gonna lie... That intro was so cozy, relaxing, and oddly freeing, I had to watch it twice. I already know I'm going to love this game, that was BEAUTIFUL.
Farming, Horror, AND escapism! What else do I need I haven't been able to watch your videos these last couple months (ok maybe a year+).. but I forced myself to watch 40 mins of this vid, gotta finish it tomorrow. Looks like one of my favorites already
8:35 for some reason the fact that only the music was muted but the game voice as well as your voice wasn’t was so satisfying after having to skip through so many muted portions of videos lol
Gorgeous demo, can't wait for the game. Librarian, I really appreciated how you let the moment land at the 58-59 minute mark. You collected your tomatoes and eggs and chopped up the stumps, no commentary, and the loneliness of the moment was felt. Fantastic game design but also great intuition from a player to just let the emotion go without commentary.
Not gonna lie, the big head ending (Cry of Fear, Silent Hill 4, Squirrel Stapler) actually got me. When i was a little kid, i was scared to go out of the bounds, or when something was TOO OF like bugs and stuff... so i am scared shitless of stuff like that
definitely looking forward to when it fully comes out so you can play it some more on the channel. It has such a great vibe, and hits basically a perfect mix of horror and some sort of beautiful feeling i dont even know the words for
Man, i love the way this game is looking, when the full release comes out, i would love to see a full series of this game. anything to see more of Vizzie! (kitty visitor)
1:05:57 wasnt expecting this kind of jarring jumpscare in such a heavy-sentimental-driven story kind of game. It remind me of the Squirel Stapler's God apparition at the end.
I always remember this one time I was staying in Boston, along Mass Ave. I looked out the window of the apartment and saw a gosh-darn TURKEY walking down the street. Followed it down an alley, but the fella was on a mission of his own. No idea how he got there or what we was doing, but I think about it a lot.
This game is visually stunning, amd I loved the scares! Might give it a try myself. Also did anyone else notice the scar on Garrett's left arm, or was that just me? 😥
I really like the atmosphere of this game, it's really well done. Also I have another game suggestion for you! No one wants to die. A sci-fi detective game with lots of Greek mythology references and a choices matter mechanic too.
You'd think Garret would have invited the people he could stand. A man can make it alone in the wilds, but it's harder and more dangerous. Someone needs to make a first-person homestead simulator.
I watched a lets play of this game by someone else yesterday and tought it would fit amazingly well for your channel. It fits the creepy & comfy vibe perfectly! :)
I like that the tomato assets are looking like tomatoes that has cracks from irregular watering ( the green cracks on top) those tend to get moldy faster in the cracks . You cut does parts a Off when using them even if not moldy, does parts dosent taste so good . The chicken coup is very closely done from those you can buy irl i would guess that one is for 8 chicken or something. You collect the eggs like you do in the game, The chicken fencing is a bit low doe ,they would fly/ jump right over .
Wasn’t expecting a “Courage the cowardly dog” show reference but yeah…..Eustace Bags farm wasnt just dangerous, it was the most dangerous place on earth.
vaguely reminds us of that famring creepypasta where the guy just handles the monsters. got a skinwalker, here's a shot gun love the vibes here so much
how can such a good looking indie game have copyrighted music? this isn't a garry's mod with Mario stuff. isn't this something they'd be checking before release? Just a thought. Then again we're not the best with our inspection of music either, but our stuff is kinda crappy and free XD
Okay, I just have to say, this has been the first game with scares to have gotten me in a while. Especially with how the scares started as early as they did. The, “Hey,” from behind was fine but actually seeing someone peering from behind the tree right after activated my fight or flight. This dev did an amazing job and I can’t wait for the full release.
So this is the results of David's feelings written on the form of Christopher's story, interesting... Smells like deep lore and intense gameplay, I do hope David is ok tho, thats a strange note..
good work i like your video 😄 even if the muted didn"t need it at all cause in the setings the is the option to check the box for streamers and changes the copyright music 😉
I'm so glad you played my demo, thanks! A while ago I watched your analysis of why Source games are creepy and loved it, I still send it to friends when we talk about Source
Such an awesome concept and so many insanely cool horror ideas. This is insanely good, especially for a demo. Good luck on the rest of development!
This looks great, please finish this before driving alone in the forest for the next 20 years, we'll be thankful :D
I’m very excited for you to release this game!
Great work ❤
Loved the demo! Great potential and I hope you can finish the game and extract all the potential it holds!

While not as atmospheric as this game, I am reminded instantly of Pumpkin Panic.
@@ThatPageTurner Yeah that is the other game that gives me vibes to as well

25:01 - So, can we all just appreciate for this moment of "not muted because of kitty"?
Always unmute for kitty
Real
This couldn’t be more Librarian: The Game if it were set in an actual library.
The way you rendered this in text made me lose the game. And now you lost it too.
My grandfather did a lot of clearing land and building things. I can hear him telling you not to cut down all of your shade trees. 😂
1:50 it sent chills down my spine when i heard that breathing and looked in the rear-view mirror...
that is crazy. I did not even notice that when I first watched. that kinda changes the whole context of the haunting
Nice find dude!
So he brought his demons with him…
I thought i saw that but didn't look back lmaoo
The masculine urge to become an isolationist and operate a farm on a land home to paranormal activity...
the feminine urge to do the same thing but make friends with the ghosts
@@dedgripsoh my god, real!
I could never understand the sentiment. It just does not compute.
Wondering how chickens can escape the fence he never finished is a very Librarian moment.
I love the fact that in the beginning when the bathroom door opened I said. “Hmm must’ve been the wind.” Then Librarian immediately said that and I laughed so hard!
I was playing Skyrim music in the background, as well. XD Perfektion.

The chicken pen was never completed, so they could just roam freely
Honestly, makes sense to me.
Free range chickens taste better
BRO😭🤣
Lol that was actually driving me crazy

In my case it was the first jumpscare in my life that made me audibly gasp, didnt know i was capable of that lol
The perfect librarian game. I hoping when the full game comes out it can be a series

"howdy"
_vanishes_
rude...
Man, I think the Librarian was the fastest draw on that door.
16:00 i was thinking it was a "deeply introverted depressed ptsd survivor" simulator but that works too
I honestly think the main character has schizophrenia and that everything he sees is all in his head as he might be an undiagnosed schizophrenic.

honestly during the intro i couldnt stop looking at the mirror, and it payed off
came for horror, stayed for kitty

"Not muted because kitty" made me laugh out loud.
This needs to have a complete playthrough when this game is done
With some more polishing this game is going to be amazing
This game is absolutely gorgeous and I cannot WAIT to see it fully release and watch your playthrough.

I'm glad your friends convinced you to post this lol, there's no way I WON'T be buying the full game when it releases!!
The music. The melancholy. The scenic views! i love this 😍
1:03:28 “chicken, do you know how to fix this thing?” “No, you wouldn’t, you don’t have hands.”

45:45 it catches me off guard every time he makes a joke like that. I friggin love it
am i the only one who almost dies laughing when we whacked those birds with an axe?! (51:09)

I used to do roleplays on fs19 (now fs22) but on fs19 in particular with some of my buddies. His characters whole ark was that his ranch was haunted.

That last objective… feels like life. Just get to the end of the day
This demo reminds me of the half life mod Underhell. It had a spooky farmhouse hub world like this in between chapters. Pretty cool
absolutely want to see more of this
25:00 lmaoo the unmute cuz kitty :3
Farming Horror - We need a My Summer Combine game with elements of wtf and no time to ask questions.
I was gonna say the real horror is the perpetually uncompleted chicken fence, but with the way the demo ended i don't think that's the case

42:30 THE GASP 😂
Do you know what I am curious about, if those oil cans would work on the basement door. It said it was rusted shut, not locked.
This remind me so much of the underhell house, i love it
I nver knew I had OCD until I watched this and kept screaming for him to pick up his logs and sell them lol

Man, what is that absolute masterpiece that started playing on Day 8?
Spooky Stardew! I'm all for this game.
Getting major, the forest bug on a farm vibes
"So I bought the farm" - not yet you haven't... Bwah ha ha !

No hobos, that's the only thing missing

Game hits too close to home, jesus
Cant wait for you to play this, seems real cool
106th day of recommending 8:11
Such determination, I respect it🫡
the dedication is crazy
Reminds me of 'Underhell' in a way.
I'm very excited about this game!
This game gives me major VOTV vibes and I am totally down for it
I'm actually shocked at how effective some of the spooks are in this.
Im hoping it will turn into a series :D
Looks like a great game

I loved the game and the music especially is awesome
is it original songs or if not could someone provide some links or names? love them
Funny this game comes out right around the time i start planning to make to do the same
Im so glad you enjoyed it Chris, this game is somewhere so very special
57:38 jeez what is this, depression simulator or what? 😭
1:49 look at the mirror on the right...
Omg i was hoping you would play this!!
