There are web sites that list steam trips in the UK, which you may find helpful. One way to find out if there's a steam tour imminent is to watch out for photographers along the line or on station platforms, especially if they are on little used platforms. That's often a good clue.
That was awesome. Both engines rocking as they came towards you and going with real pace and power. Even more impressive when you realize that both were hauling 400 tons+ each.
