Great draft, and even better drafter! Love that you show your emotions, take time to talk through your decisions and even admit your mistakes. Hope for more Foundations drafts!
You've been on FIRE recently, all your recent decks have been super fun to watch, and you execute them perfectly every time. I hope that your channel gets more of the attention that it deserves!
Dear Mr. Cheon, I haven't been able to watch your videos as consistently because I've been busy with work, but this one was amazing. It was very satisfying to watch you showcase the importance of patience in that one match up against the double DoJ lol.
The commentary, as always, was fantastic in this one Paul (both for draft and games); as as a fellow dimir player, I salute you for educating us/helping improve our game!!
Happy Holidays Paul! I rarely play MTG these days but some of my childhood friends and I have a 10+ year tradition of getting together for a Draft when we’re all back visiting family for Christmas. Your videos have been really fun to watch and I think will help me a lot when we crack open some Foundations packs this weekend! Cheers! 😊
You played the double wrath perfectly, really enjoyed that game. Reminded me of the game with your best deck of duskmourn vs the rakdos deck where you sniffed out the board wipe. I’ve learned a lot about draft just from watching your channel. Thanks again for another great showcase, keep up the great content!
Game 5 was a great example of being present in the moment and actually taking in and analyzing information. Hallmarks of a good control player. Bet you're pretty good at poker as well.
This was just a masterclass on every level, both on drafting, deckbuilding and playing, especially on that game with the double sweeper. Love your content, Paul, and thanks to you, my drafting and playing has improved significantly in a very short time. Thank you for everything.
It was funny, but I don't think it mattered... opponent did not have enough creatures to get past Paul's removal in his/her entire deck, and so had no chance of winning from the start.
What a sweet deck and absolutely flawless play. Love to see it! I personally would enjoy seeing some cube - but you said it best; play what you're going to have fun with!
Hey Paul! Big thank you to your videos and all the explanation, i just hit mythic for the first time at #511. I learned so much watching your videos! Huge thanks! Greetings from Germany!
Finally broke Mythic top 100 this month, though i lost one to you. i’m 0-2 against you, but i took one from Nummy this month! 😅 thanks for the lessons! Appreciate your content!
Great games Paul, this was a huge "Cheon! Touchdown! Unbelievable!" vid. I think archmage is arch like the architectural feature, because that's how it is in archbishop.
Great deck and a valuable lesson in that game against two Day of Judgments. All players can learn something about reading your opponents actions. You realized they weren't playing creatures, nor were they killing your one vital threat, and with what you had in play, no sense committing more. Rarely get to see that in limited, but an excellent lesson for the viewers from a pro player.
"Artch" is in reference to the form of arches, like a bridge etc. "Ark" is in reference to a higher stature or rank, like an archpriest or archmage. Although using the former in place of the latter is very common.
Bonkers deck. One thing Paul, we can't see the 'loss' pips with the way you do your videos. If at the end of each draft run you could show the screen that wold be helpful! ty
Don't sleep on pilfer! It's even better in the hands of good players. For a few turns it gives you complete information. You can dismantle a bad keep early and it's also good late. One of the best cards in UB according to 17 lands for top and bottom players. It literally made your opponent scoop!
ITS the kind of deck I want to draft!! The mill win was sweet. I hope you keep drafting foundation because master set doesn’t appeal to me. I really like your videos, keep the coming!
Hi Paul, I am curious what you think about campus guide in blue black, I have been running it occasionally as my 23rd card and it has felt good, helps to hit double blue/double black turn 3 plays and I never feel like flooding is a huge risk in the deck due to the amount of card draw and looting. It also doesnt feel bad as a sacrifice outlet. Obviously I am not playing it over the better 2 drops but I am surprised it never seems to even get recognized as an option. Like for example if this deck had a refute and a vampire nighthawk, I would have played the campus guide over the reassembling skeleton
I'm having difficulty with bo1, I'm one step away from Mythic but I'm losing too many resources because the decks and opponents are very solid. Do you recommend I try bo3? I'm not going to learn a new set (Pioneer masters)
Absolutely the best dimir deck I’ve seen. It was a perfect set of games and you played suuuuper tight. You were insane in this draft
Yeah it was a really clean run. Hard to follow this up!
@@haumphYou missed that one rat damage. Don't get too pumped :3
@@JCDSPC😂 gotta keep em humble
Fantastic highlights where Paul broke the hearts of his opponents in a special way.
48:12 51:08 54:22
Wow!
Superb play, good back and forth, great energy, just the way that Richard Garfield imagined it.
Appreciate that!
Great draft, and even better drafter! Love that you show your emotions, take time to talk through your decisions and even admit your mistakes. Hope for more Foundations drafts!
Thank you! Will do!
You've been on FIRE recently, all your recent decks have been super fun to watch, and you execute them perfectly every time. I hope that your channel gets more of the attention that it deserves!
Thank you for the support!
Dear Mr. Cheon,
I haven't been able to watch your videos as consistently because I've been busy with work, but this one was amazing. It was very satisfying to watch you showcase the importance of patience in that one match up against the double DoJ lol.
Thanks! I really enjoyed that match up.
The commentary, as always, was fantastic in this one Paul (both for draft and games); as as a fellow dimir player, I salute you for educating us/helping improve our game!!
Not a problem!
Pilfer, rat, rat into a 3 bomb hand was so dirty.
That guys deck was never going to benefit from them anyway lol
Archmage of Runes redemption arc? Amazing draft, tight games. Thanks for the video!
Cheers! 😊
Glad you’re enjoying the content, I hope it helps during Christmas break!
Masterfully drafted and built deck. Brutal wins. Felt sorry for your opponents. You earned my subscription
Thanks for the sub!

Appreciate you watching!
The control match up was on of the best games I saw in recent time! So satisfying, such patience.
yeah I'm proud of that one!
Game 5 was a great example of being present in the moment and actually taking in and analyzing information. Hallmarks of a good control player. Bet you're pretty good at poker as well.
A lot of magic players have transitioned into being great poker players. I don't play enough to be good though.
Paul is like a sociable version of the Rainman 😅😅 . Good luck trying to bluff him out in Poker.
@tvlyt456 Id pay big bucks to see Paul put Phil Hellmith on tilt then laugh about it
This was just a masterclass on every level, both on drafting, deckbuilding and playing, especially on that game with the double sweeper.
Love your content, Paul, and thanks to you, my drafting and playing has improved significantly in a very short time.
Thank you for everything.
Much appreciated!
I will allow you to break my heart this upcoming Christmas with this deck and these plays Paul. Amazing!
That double wrath mono removal player was absolutely pulling his hair out with your reads lol
Yeah I bet he thought I had x-ray vision in that match.
It was funny, but I don't think it mattered... opponent did not have enough creatures to get past Paul's removal in his/her entire deck, and so had no chance of winning from the start.
@ yeah that's a good point. Dude just seemed to draft all removal
Keep flip-flopping, Paul! We love your emotions while playing.
Wow, what a sweet draft with some fantastic games and multiple Cheon-level soul reads. Nicely done! And thanks as always for the content
Appreciate that, thanks for watching!
I love the foundations drafts, can't get enough of them!
What a sweet deck and absolutely flawless play. Love to see it! I personally would enjoy seeing some cube - but you said it best; play what you're going to have fun with!
I agree, it was really fun to play!
Awesome draft/run! Loved the Aberration win :)
Thanks! Yeah it was great
Hey Paul!
Big thank you to your videos and all the explanation, i just hit mythic for the first time at #511.
I learned so much watching your videos! Huge thanks! Greetings from Germany!
gz on mythic!
33:09 OP casually 3-for-1'ing themselves vs the infernal vessel
Mtgo vintage drafts hell yes!
that dude must have shid himself when you voyaged the aberration lol
**Willem Dafoe looking up meme**
You beat my ass last night - I got stuck on 2 lands and had to make some bad plays to stay alive. 4th match. Great build, Paul.
ggs!
I clicked for the thumbnail. Consuming Aberration was the my first boss monster playing magic
Very nice draft. And great playing with a lot of patience.
Btw… they definitely had a Chandra when you pilfered them 😂👍
haha that's what i felt too!
That was a very scary deck, very skillful navigation. Remarkable how effective this was without any cards that are just degenerated.
Yeah it didn’t feel broken but it felt super smooth and solid
Finally broke Mythic top 100 this month, though i lost one to you. i’m 0-2 against you, but i took one from Nummy this month! 😅 thanks for the lessons! Appreciate your content!
Nice work!
Im in mythic 160, thank you for youre good content, it really helped me.
Glad I could help
Great games Paul, this was a huge "Cheon! Touchdown! Unbelievable!" vid. I think archmage is arch like the architectural feature, because that's how it is in archbishop.
Was gonna make a joke about Dimir Speedwalk, but this was a legit speed run :D sub 1 hr.
And I just finished the video with that Pilfer into Double Burgler Rat to clear their hand. That made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
"Artch" is in reference to the form of arches, like a bridge etc. "Ark" is in reference to a higher stature or rank, like an archpriest or archmage. Although using the former in place of the latter is very common.
Finally a video where Consuming Aberration didn’t end up on the chopping block 😅
yes!
Loved your play-by-play commentary, great video.
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed your standard content whenever you're preparing for coverage
Wow, just wow. Great draft, great plays, great video 😁
Thanks for watching!
You're really in your zone when you play control. Nice reads and tight plays, it's so awesome to watch. Can be used for Magic 101 tutorials :)
yeah this one played out particularly well hah
What a beautifull deck this was, master gameplay too. Congratz Paul
Thank you!
That double sweeper reading game was just pure magic.
A Masterclass in dimir control
Love your videos Paul, hit rank 33 in limited last night due to your insight!
gz!
That poor bant player in the finale oof. Reading the double wrath in the control match was also something else.
Really enjoying the foundations drafts!
Bonkers deck.
One thing Paul, we can't see the 'loss' pips with the way you do your videos. If at the end of each draft run you could show the screen that wold be helpful!
ty
U decide to play dimir control and they give u consuming aberration on top. That was perfect🎉
Quick everyone the new draft video is out!
Don't sleep on pilfer! It's even better in the hands of good players. For a few turns it gives you complete information. You can dismantle a bad keep early and it's also good late. One of the best cards in UB according to 17 lands for top and bottom players. It literally made your opponent scoop!
Archetype of the deck doesn't matter if 90% of your draft deck is premium cards. It's gonna be a speedrun anyway.
ITS the kind of deck I want to draft!! The mill win was sweet.
I hope you keep drafting foundation because master set doesn’t appeal to me.
I really like your videos, keep the coming!
I'll see what I can do.
Best play I’ve seen! Wow
thx!
The game vs. the double sweeper deck was a masterclass.
ty!
I would love some cubes during the holidays from you!
It’s actually Archmage
Aberration in action this time?? I‘m sold!
Hi Paul, I am curious what you think about campus guide in blue black, I have been running it occasionally as my 23rd card and it has felt good, helps to hit double blue/double black turn 3 plays and I never feel like flooding is a huge risk in the deck due to the amount of card draw and looting. Like for example if this deck had a refute and a vampire nighthawk, I would have played the campus guide over the reassembling skeleton
I dislike the creature in general
lol the poor last guy^^ wp :)
48:29 I call that a ctrl alt delete. Control deck
Alternate win con
Delete opponents library.
Now that was some Magic!
Where can I get opponents that do not play any spells for like 5 turns please
Some great games here, but the Pilfer scoop was my favorite
it was great!
Dimir is the GOAT!
Aberration kill. So gratifying!
yesss
Would love some cube drafts.
BEST run ever
it was pretty epic!
Nice work
The game against the BW control, was simply perfect.
ty!
I'm having difficulty with bo1, I'm one step away from Mythic but I'm losing too many resources because the decks and opponents are very solid. Do you recommend I try bo3? I'm not going to learn a new set (Pioneer masters)
I prefer bo1 on arena since it's ranked. I don't think you can rank in non-bo1 for limited
That poor last opponent of yours lmao
Nice draft, great reads again ! gg wp 👍🎯
Appreciate it!
Some people call him Paul the patient.
I currently have a Dimir control deck with 4x faebloom trick that were all passed to me. I cast 4 in one game and my opponent just scooped
"Draw cards, kill creatures"
Vintage cube please
Absolutely filthy
dirty dirty
Paul can you take it easy on these guys so we get longer videos 😅 Amazing draft
sorry
If I had a heart, it would have rejoiced at this video. Sadly, I'm a dimir player~
I can't believe you lost that quickly 💔
This run was a massacre.
Katana over the Skeleton would’ve been cool
I have never put that card in any of my decks
But skeleton is so good in this shell!
rise of the dark realms could have been sweet
too expensive in general i think
@ Yeah but its sweet :D
It’s pronounced Are-ch-mage. As opposed to ark- mage. Also the same for Archangel
This hand looks really clunky... Destroys opponent, 😅😅
the underration on refute is too much
First
In the future please flag a deck this disgusting as *NSFW* in the title.
