Sam did Trophy with that deck, so at least that shows it’s real. I also have been singing the praises of moist jund in this format for a bit ; P So fun to see a real pro drafting it. (He did refer to it as a deranged shift to Tatiyova from ref black sacrifice, but as someone who has done the same shift many times, it’s fun to be deranged.
"I'm sure my midrange deck that can't attack... that gets brickwalled by an Infestation Sage can handle a Phyrexian Arena, I'm sure it can." needed that ad lib today
I do like that Pioneer Masters is going to be kept fresh with a rotating bonus sheet. With the size of the FULL Foundations set, I'm kind of sad they didn't do the same. It would make drafting a Core Set much more interesting until February.
I didn't have the time to draft the last 3 sets, but I keep watching you, man. I have learned a lot just doing that, I go from Bronze to Diamond 3 in 17 draft just by following your style of draft (and sometimes forcing u/w too 😅) Thank you very much.
So the plan was T1: Elves and then ramp into Sire of Seven Deaths. You played Elves T1 once (and lost) and you never got to play the Sire. Still 5 wins, but there went the game plan haha
At the start of pack two it seemed like Paul was locked in on green and I kept yelling at my screen, "Look at the white cards in your sideboard!" Opening the white equipment should have clinched it for BW I think.
Late pack one you passed the overrun in the pack with bite down. I assume many green drafters would see that as a sign green was wide open. I think the second Overrun you passed might have been the same pack that you lamented your situation but I havent spent that long with the tape. Anyway, maybe Overrun in core set draft isn't what people used to think it was... or maybe it never was?
@haumph There are sure many boards just in the video where it would have been bad and others where it was uncastable. I do suspect some people may value it highly due to long tenure, memories of core sets where it was one of the only dynamic green cards, mental decay etc. And we are in your draft pods, sometimes.
I think you tunnel-visioned on green a bit too hard, i def would have been considering wb p2 when you saw the p6 + p7 prideful parents and p8 resolute reinforcements. You only had 4 green cards at that point and the white would have worked well with the black, especially if you could pick up some sac cards to really leverage them
So generally if you know the person’s preferred pronouns you should use them. But also he might just be in the habit of saying they/them for digital play/recordings. And since they/them doesn’t imply any gender there’s no harm

Glad to see more Foundations content!
I'm glad you enjoy it!
My morning appointment. Thanks for the great content Paul !

They've got four years or so to work on innovations like that
"I wanna go back to pioneer masters after this pack" LOL
Good stuff. The Mild-Mannered Librarian is one of my favorite uncommons in this set.
the immediate sire mill lmao you hate to see it
Foundations draft!!! Lets go!!!
Just what I needed for my bday!
happy bday!
Ambush Wolf vs Phyrexian Arena could have been a Rec Sage.
It's results oriented, but worth mentioning.
Thanks for the content
I feel like playing commander always makes me want the rec sage lmao
I appreciate you switching up the drafts. I'm not super into the pioneer drafts much so it's nice to see you go back and forth 😊
Great draft, congrats.... epic battle with sam black....
Yikes. That was pretty rough at the end, milling away the Eldrazi bomb and losing to another one. Very neat draft.
35:00 Your target audience is probably the people who know you have a mild mannered Kavu Climber Sarulf's Packmate in here

that's incredible. gz on climbing so quickly!
45:26 noooo you manifested it!!
Wat he’s this live from Sam’s side, excited to see it form yours, it was such a great game!
He played a great game!
Sam's deck was something else LOL
i haven’t played Sam Black yet… but i’ve ran into Numot 3 times this month 😰

Yeah game plan was kind of a fail but we still managed to salvage a decent result!
Seemed like Black White was the most open in your seat

Sorry, not opening even - being passed the equipment I think
Gruul has the highest win rate on 17lands
Sire of 7 deaths can solo carry games! Hope to see it resolve
OMMMMGGG pack 3 pick 2 painfull as hell..... as paul would say 'so sad'
I usually don't do that well with this color combination, but I think your deck looked pretty solid
P.S. You lost 50k gems from the Open?!
he lost more than that haha
no shade, it's tough out there sometimes

I don't think overrun is that great.

Worst color combination? 🤔 I won the last Play in with that horrible combination jeje
You most certainly should have been white
yes
You overlooked WB and locked onto green way too early. Mid pack one was an easy pivot to White imo
probably but i wanted to draft green
@haumph hindsight is always 20/20 great draft!!
I got half amount of Paul's content because of pioneer😢😢😢
First 🎉
first
If you know the guy, why keep calling him "them"?

why not
Paul used he/him for most of the video... get a life
You criminally ignored Authority of the Consults. Twice 😢
I'm not a fan
Straight unplayable. Does nothing.
