I'm gonna write it here so you all can read if you're interested. This is called 'Calcio Storico Fiorentino' and it's an ancient sport played since Greeks and Romans times (it was called 'Harpastum' in latin) and is played in Florence since middle age but in modern times people play it to commemorate a particular moment in Florence history, when the Spanish Empire sieged the city and the people, to show that they were not scared or worried, started to play this game officially (1530). There are 4 teams (usually one team plays only 2 games every year, the semifinal and the final) and these are the 4 Florence's district, the red, the blue, the white and the green. Every team has 27 players and they need to score throwing the ball in the opposite net which is the width of the field. In order to do that they need to create their way by fighting but there are rules for that, basically you cannot fight 2 vs 1, you cannot hit a players from behind and you cannot hit a player if he's on the ground. I just wanna point out that all these men are not payed, they're all volunteers and no one ever died during a game. It's just something that tuscanians do with pride and joy.

another important fact of this game is that substitutions are not allowed,so if you manage to injure a player from the other team forcing to leave the game, you have more chance to win the game.
I watched the entire game and I think it’s pretty cool! I originally believed that it was just another mindless game of “mod ball”...but if you pay attention, you will see strategy and coherency to it. I also suggest that you watch a video about the rules before you watch.
Seems level headed too despite the violence associated with it. The judges and officials jump in right away when the game starts to get carried away. The players are super mindful of their surroundings where the medics, judges, and officials are standing....
I love the bit @ 5:00 where the coach (or whatever he is ) chucks water at an injured player and tells him to get on with. We need a bit of that in the English Premier League.

The biggest problems for the guys with the ball is not to get bored stiff while their teammates are beating the shit out of each other.
another important fact of this game is that substitutions are not allowed,so if you manage to injure a player from the other team forcing to leave the game, you have more chance to win the game.
Essa é a final do campeonato Paulista de 1999. Corinthians vs Palmeiras, mas num universo onde o Edilson fez embaixadinha no início do jogo. Haha

@carlo negri dafuk is wrong with you?
@@UnchainedAmerica its just an ancient version of soccer/rugby
You learn the rules after the first 15 minutes or so...even though I don't understand Italian, I watched the whole thing. This is an epic sport!
Questo sport dovrebbe diventare Patrimonio dell'umanità 💪🇮🇹
Never seen a more friendly match!
Yep... But, i see one faul there...

I love the bit @ 5:00 where the coach (or whatever he is ) chucks water at an injured player and tells him to get on with. We need a bit of that in the English Premier League.

Pensa come stai messo
A mix between the UFC and the NFL... this sport could be HUGE in the U.S. :)
The only issue is how NA views bare knuckle
