The epic awesomeness of Gåte! So good to see you liked it :):) I am sooo proud Norway is sending this to Eurovision. Best entry from Norway in years and years :)
The beginning is an old recording of a traditional ku lokk by folksinger Marit Jensen Lillebuen. (Born in 1879) its a calling sound, that attracts the attention of people or animals. In that sense, luring is human-made sound to call the animal's attention, either in the form of the voice or an instrument. And that's what the vocalist in Gåte also does in the choruses. The text is taken from an ancient Scandinavian medieval ballad, called "Møya i ulveham". The Norwegian story can be found in various versions, mainly from Telemark, Norway. Thats why they had to change some of the text before the mgp final. Gåte is a Norwegian folk rock band established in Trondheim in 1999, when vokalist Gunnhild Sundli was only 14 years old. The band combines traditional Norwegian folk music and explosive rock.
The key harp is an instrument from 14th century that comes from either Norway or Sweden (we don't know) though Sweden have made it their national instrument. It has principals of construction in common with the Norwegian national instrument, the Hardanger fiddle (the resonance plate and chamber)
You need to be paying attention to the rest of the band as well...what they are singing and doing! A lead singer can make a can sing a song well, but she's not the whole picture. Gåte...not Gunnhild with Gåte. BTW...did you notice the guitar in the air?
Hey, totally my bad for not giving props to the whole band - they were awesome. Guitar in the air? Honestly, I must've blinked and missed it during my first watch. Definitely gonna look out for it next time.
This is a reaction video, where I share my thoughts in the moment. If my style isn't a fit, there are many other reactors out there. Certain song parts had to be cut due to copyright, and I had to lower the volume to prevent blocks. You can find the full song on the Eurovision channel. ❤️

It looks amazing…. I think Norway should claim it 😉😂
@@SimplethingsOfficial Norway isn't about claiming things, it's about sharing things, like Svalbard :P
Norway had Gåte or Keiino. Both good choices for a good result. Gåte is a great proposal for Eurovision.
1:57 “Nice!” (dimple doesn’t lie). One of my fav reactions to Norway. Agree with you 💯 My winner!
Thank You 🤣🥰
The instrument is a "key harp" with history from the 1300-1400's.

Can definitely see this happening
You obviously prefered your voice over the segment you were reviewing. Hard to know what you were reviewing as we could not hear them.
