Gåte is amazing! My uncle actually helped the band getting started financially way back.
I've never been this engaged. Please vote for them 🥰

This is such a nice reaction video 🥰. Ulveham was my favourite song, so I'm very happy that Gåte won the national final and that Norwegian can send such a nice and interesting song this time. I do like folk-rock music and it will be exciting to see if it will be well-received in Europe 🎶. I've always been interested in folk music from not only my own country, but also other countries 🇳🇴

My vote goes to Gåte today .for sure. From the first moment I heard Ulveham several weeks ago, I've loved it, and probably have hundreds of plays 😅 So I heard the change they had to make to the lyrics, right away. 😅 hugs from Norway🇳🇴

YES its the authenticity and intensity of this song and of the band, this singer is just totally amazing. They have made anything from punk to folk, you are very right she is the spell. Its the dark myth of Norway. I really liked that you said she is a bird or becomes one. Thank you for the lovely review of the song greetings from Norway

The Å in GÅTE is pronounced like the letter A in 'always'. The other words for GÅTE is as followed:
    gåte - conundrum
    gåte - enigma
    gåte - mystery
    gåte - mystifier
    gåte - puzzle
    gåte - riddle

Gåte are my favourite non-metal band and I've been a fan since 2004. I really hope that they will make it to the ESC-final. Since you enjoyed Gunnhild's vocals so much and also the style they play, I highly recommend to check out the clips on their official channel, especially the live clips. E.g. in this live-clip of "Rideboll & Gullborg" (the lyrics of which are, as in many of Gåte's songs, a medieval ballad resp. based on one), Gunnhild does some screams with her voice similar to the ones in "Ulveham": th-cam.com/video/EmJnL-9BJLo/w-d-xo.html
Even though it seems you only do reactions to ESC-related songs, you could still watch the clips on their channel on your own. And since you like this style of nordic Folk Rock, I also recommend to check out the Norwegian band Bergtatt (it's the band of they guy you see playing keyed fiddle, called nøkkelharpe in Norwegian, in the MGP-performance of "Ulveham") as well as the Swedish band Garmarna, who have been an influence on Gåte and whose song "Vedergällningen", i.e. "revenge", tells the same story as "Ulveham", the difference being that in their version, it's a boy and not a girl who is turned into a wolf.

Thank you very much for such a detailed answer! I’m doing ESC reactions because I’m ESC journalist, but of course I’m listening different music and Gåte style sounds magnificent 🌟 I will check your advices, thank you 🙌

Gåte gets my vote on Saturday. It is not made for ESC, that says a lot to me. Authentic, yes. 💚✌Thy had to change the text a little, but still in Norwegian. 👍

The sole purpose of being in Eurovision is to try and win. A song sung in Norwegian is not going to win. I don’t know Norwegian. I have no idea what she is singing about ?

Since 1956 there have been 36 winners in languages other than English 😜 How about Stefania, Zitti e buoni, Amar pelos dois or 1944? All winner songs in their native languages. But I guess you know Ukranian, Italian and Portugese

The song a 1000 year old folk tale about a young girl who got cursed by her evil stepmother, she was sent out into the woods to be a wolf, and in the end the wolf rips her stepmothers heart out and because her stepmother was pregnant she drinks her brothers blood and lifts the curse. It's very dark. A song in our national language can absolutely win.

Norway won in 1985 with a song sung in Norwegian. So La Det Svinge!
Norway won in 1995 with a song sung in Norwegian, as well.

I dont like it . Horrible lyric and to mutch screaming . Norway Gåte Ulveham ,Many people are not aware of what she actually sings, which in my opinion is a cruel text from the old days. And i am from Norway ! The text copied from newspaper today:
She summarizes "Ulveham", based on an old medieval ballad, as the story of an evil stepmother who casts a curse on her stepdaughter - who turns into a wolf running in the forest forever. She only loses her wolf's hide if she drinks her own brother's blood.
"There will be a kind of happy - but cruel - ending when she meets the stepmother on horseback in the forest, throws herself at her, rips out her heart and drinks the blood. Because the stepmother is pregnant with her brother - thereby the curse is lifted.
