The first time to did a set up like this, my client couldn’t stop talking about it for 5 mins ( We FaceTime from my laptop) the 35 1.8 was to crispy for them to handle lol
Step 1: Build an office. haha. We call one half of the kitchen table "the office" currently.🤣
Fact
My office is currently my master bedroom. The room my wife and I sleep in is just big enough to fit our queen size bed in it. 🙃
Very useful info. Since you mentioned about wedding day expectations, I think you can create a video just on that topic and how the wedding day looks like from all your 10 years of experience. That would be very valuable.
I literally have a client zoom meeting in an hour, perfectly timed upload! As always, thanks for the tips John!
That's awesome to hear. I hope this video helped out!
Excellent advice John. Here in the UK, I rarely do Zoom meetings these days, although I did some during lockdowns. These days I am back to face to face over a coffee. You are absolutely correct in what you say about telling them what is going to happen, what you are going to do, etc. and not concentrate on the money! I did my first wedding way back in 1977, thrown in the deep end so to speak, when my then girlfriend's brother was getting married. Things have changed a lot since those days and you have to keep inline with trends, etc. I had a meeting with a bride today and thinking about it, I was telling her what would happen when and how, which she confirmed was what she'd had from the organiser at the venue. Keep up the good work John. Best regards from across the pond in the UK.
This is really helpful. Thank you very much John.
Thanks John I needed this video. Hope you’re having a great day 👍🏻
That's awesome to hear! I'm glad this was helpful.
Love your tips !
Really helpful ❤
Glad to hear it. Always happy to help.
Love these tips! Definitely going to try using my camera during consultation calls. Do you have a link for the CamLink?
John, awesome tips as I'm setting up my home office right now! Can you share where you got your pots and plants? haha!
Hey!!! 👋🏽 John, can you do a video on how you step up our laptop with monitor to edited on a external monitor without having to use the laptop?
Thank you sir 🤗 lots of insightful tips
You're welcome. I'm glad to hear this video was helpful!
8:10 is whole perfected sermon, great insight
In HongKong most people likely have a conversation via Email or Whatsapp 😅 by text message. Do you have any skills or tips for that?
And because HoneyBook is not supported in HongKong area, I use Quickbook before for my CRM, but really don’t like the templates of quote and invoice, so now I will created templates in canva for my quote and invoice send to my client, CRM I use notion and do it by myself 😢
I tried this kind of setup years ago for company zoom meetings. nobody cared at all. I'm inspired to see if clients feel different, but I suspect Australia's terrible internet means all our efforts get compressed so nobody can notice. I have a facetime in 2 hours and a pretty office. I'll do a bit of stuff to make it nicer and see what happens
Out of interest, for online meetings, what focus settings do you have for the X-T3, and what aperture is set for the XF35mmF2?
Generally I leave the aperture wide open and set it to continuous AF and face tracking. For my shutter speed I'll set that to auto so it can adjust to any ambient light changes in the room.
@@jbivphotography Thanks for that. Variable shutter speed is interesting. If it's the same settings for TH-cam, I'm surprised you're not getting _any_ focus hunting/wobble, perhaps the 35mm distance helps, I just assumed you had manual focus. I have the same USB microphone too, (and I live about a 20 min drive from the Rode factory!)
my problem is , couples dont want to get on a zoom meeting after they know the price , even though the prices are on my website
Exactly. So those folks aren’t your client. If they see the price and also hop on Zoom you already know you’re 50% of the way to booking.
@@jbivphotographydo you advertise “starting at” prices?
Can you post a video of you actually talking to someone for a meeting?
I do plan on doing that at some point. It'll either be part of my course or TH-cam membership.
How is this incredible piece of information for any photographer only on less that 500 views after a few hours?!
I complain about this to my wife all the time. I basically am teaching everyone how to run their business and actually make money and no one wants to watch. But if I posted something about a camera, or lens, or camera comparison it would instantly get views. I don't know if no one wants to make money or if just photography is lead mainly by people who just want to make photos but not run a business. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@jbivphotography keep the business videos coming! i love to watch these types of videos from different photographers; it gives great insight!
@@jbivphotography I honestly don’t get it! It’s the best content for me, I do love a good gear video but this stuff is invaluable for anyone who has a business! It’s the side that gets so disregarded and it’s where you can ultimately improve your business to take it to the next level! Keep it coming, I’m here for it 🧡🤘🏼
