Tim Hortons Inc. (known internationally as Tim Horton's Cafe and Bake Shop) is a Canadian multinational fast casual restaurant known for its coffee and doughnuts. It is also Canada's largest fast food service with over 3,000 stores nationwide. It was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, by Canadian hockey player Tim Horton and Jim Charade, after an initial venture in hamburger restaurants. In 1967, Horton partnered with investor Ron Joyce, who assumed control over operations after Tim Horton died in 1974, and expanded the chain into a multi-million dollar franchise. Charade left the organization in 1966 and briefly returned in 1970 and 1993 through 1996.
Tim Hortons franchises spread rapidly and eventually overtook McDonald's as Canada's largest food service operator. The company opened twice as many Canadian outlets as McDonald's and system-wide sales also surpassed those of McDonald's Canadian operations as of 2002. The chain accounted for 22.6% of all fast food industry revenues in Canada in 2005. Tim Hortons commands 76% of the Canadian market for baked goods (based on the number of customers served) and holds 62% of the Canadian coffee market (compared to Starbucks, in the number two position, at 7%).
In November 2010, Tim Hortons extended Interac debit payment system acceptance to most of its stores. The company previously began accepting Interac in its stores in Western Canada in 2003 and, later, MasterCard and MasterCard PayPass across most of its stores in 2007. The company often indicated the delay of broader or wider electronic payment acceptance was to "ensure speed of service." In 2012, Tim Hortons began accepting Visa cards, and in 2013, began accepting American Express cards.
Tim Hortons in Canada is a little cheaper than here in the US. My favorite Timbit is the birthday cake one and then the sour cream glaze. Will have to look for that cereal the next time I’m in Canada!

@@alyssafoley1439 I think OP realizes that. Canadian dollars will have a higher number, but can be cheaper with the exchange rate. I've gotten things cheaper at Ikea even after the higher taxes (I purposely use a credit card when in Canada that doesn't have any foreign transaction fee and converts at the daily exchange rate).
Not everything is cheaper, but it can be.
@Dejangles You're high. Sour cream glaze is pretty common even in the US, not just Canada. Especially at mom n pop donut shops. It isn't like eating sour cream from the dairy case at the grocery store.

Cap’n crunch and raisin bran were my favourites growing up with Rice Krispies close behind. Love that we still have bagged milk. I buy cartons once in a while, never jugs. I find milk doesn’t last as long. Never tried Tim Hortons cereal before. Always thought they’d be really sweet. Sour cream or old fashioned are my favourites for donuts.

Canada imports 67% of it's milk, mostly from USA. They would probably import 95% which would drive prices way down, except the canadian govt put tarriffs and caps on imports so that local farmers could survive. So your milk tastes good cuz its from USA, and your prices are high because your govt wont let you get more USA milk.

My favourite cereal as a kid was (and still is, though obviously I don't eat them much for health reasons -mainly my overweitght, I'm paying the price for having so much fun with food in my childhood and teenagehood-) a local brand here in Spain called Chocapic. You could say it's your typical chocolate cereal, though the cereal was shaped in the form of a weird flat boomerang-thingy of sorts to find any similarity to compare

Ahh yes! We just found these today at Costco. They have been sold out completely since launch day lol. But they only had the birthday cake one when we were there. Not bad... not amazing. The sour cream glaze and honey dip is my fav Timbits as well! Cheers!

Going to be in Ontario soon and hopefully the Fortinos or Canada's Superstore I usually hit up have the birthday cake flavor one. Whenever I cross the border from the US (At Niagara Falls) I hit up the supermarket for a few things we can't get here, then McDonalds because of McChicken sauce. And sometimes KFC for the mac salad and potato salad (Their current crispy sandwich special w/bbq sauce should pair nicely)
Im in BC and have never seen bagged milk in the big grocery stores or small deli/grocers. I've seen milk in glass jars though. I wonder if its only in certain provinces.

I normally go with Reese Puffs for my cereal, but I saw the Tim Hortons ones on sale a month or so ago and tried them both. While I liked both of them, I ended up mixing the two together in the bowl for the 'best of both worlds' kinda thing. Then I went back to Reese Puffs...

My top 3 favorite cereals as a kid were Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms. I don't even know if they make Golden Grahams anymore as I haven't had it in over 10 years but I still enjoy Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch on occasion. :)

I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and I grew up eating that when we were able to get it. I don't eat it much anymore but if it's on sale, I buy some. Also you're lucky - your Timmie's has filled Timbits; in my area, they are always out of the fruit-filled ones, which are my favourite. When I can't get the filled ones, I prefer the glazed yeast ones (sorry, cake donuts!).

At some point you need to go to Buckee's in New Brunfuls Texas. It is the worlds largest convience store. as large as a super walmart, maybe bigger.
Captain crunch for me, they have just started to open Tim Hortons here in the UK, but not in my area yet, I really miss my Timmies, tractor tires are my favorite donut. Great vidios, it's nice seeing some of the areas around were I use to live in Newmarket Ontario.
