I have one question! I am a mining engineer and have been working in that profession from 2012..In November last year, I took an online course in Java OOP and I was looking for praxis in some IT company..Now, one employer is willing to give me an opportunity to learn and work in his company as a devops..I do not have any IT diploma (except Udemy online diploma)..Do I have any chances to work and learn that job in some reasonable period? I was thinking to enroll IT college, but I am not sure I have time to achieve all this thing - working as a mining engineer, as a devops trainee and to study! Regards
Having a DevOps certification can help you a lot! You just need to get a strong understanding of the tools and then there isn't going to be any barrier. Hope this helps for you.
3:30 does anyone else not feel intimidated by this lol, I've just graduated college with a 4.0 in comp sci and I see these technologies thinking I'll probably be retired before I learn all these technologies.

Thanks, I have worked for almost 14 years on C, C++ programming on UNIX/Linux(Not worked on Web Technologies), Can I switch to DevOps Engineer role now? Since I worked on Linux I know some Linux administrator skills like File oprations, Mount filesyatems, Package management, Security configuration, Clustering basiccs etc. I heard generally Sys. Admin will switch to DevOps, But Wondering if I can switch to DevOps area. I learnt myself Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, AWS services and good at bash and Python scripting. What is your suggestion on this, please provide your views. Thanks in advance.
You have a great advantage since you have decent years of experience in programming. You can definitely switch to DevOps domain. Since you already have knowledge on few leading DevOps tools, that's an added advantage also. Do try looking for opportunities in DevOps and reinvent your career in 2019.
Hi Badrul, you can start of with Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker and AWS as a starting point. Tools in DevOps are plenty. You can choose what suits you better later. Cheers!

@@AndyGrouch Donno about all that, maybe if you work in a small company and have to wear many hats. A large company won't let a noobie anywhere close to their pipelines. Disaster waiting to happen. Need to have some kind of Prod experience min 3 years, ideally a developer or software engineer with background in IaaS/SaaS, those engineers manage the deployment of code and have to design function apps and make changes to them as there are updates to Azure and changes to standards, have python 2 running but then Azure no longer support that, need someone to convert all that to Python 3.
