It is just too expensive for a 15-year-old like me. I have been trying to get into the hobby since I was 13 but I just have enough. Thaks for the vid thought! Keep it up!
Cheef dont give up! I was trying to get into the hobby 17 years!!!! Now i have family 2 kids and finally can afford what i wanted. Joy from flying is enormous. As DC said - start small , find cheap radiomaster controller , and practice on sym... next will be tiny whoop fly LOS and the most important - DO NOT GIVE UP ! NEVER EVER
DroneCamps took the words straight outta my mouth. Start small. You can get a TX16S and Fatshark or Skyzone goggles on the used market in the sub $150 price range each. Analogue video isn't as pretty, but definitely affordable and sufficient for reaching long range. I would suggest cruising the used market for a lot of your gear on the ground, and save your money for building a model you really want to fly.
Thanks for the video! Long range FPV works great with planes and people who have enough courage 😀 For drones it is good to pay attention on the VTX antenna placement which could be hidden behind a big lipo that we put there, so you do not have surprise when turning back. Longer antenna helps. Also often GPS could be located to close to lipo so your magnetometer will not work and will bring your quad to some random location on RTH. With analog using ground station with high gain antennas (could be wireless) is very helpful. Going to 1.2 ghz for analog is also an option to have very long range.
LONG RANGE Got me interested From a Video of DJI MINI FLYING ACROSS SEVEN MILE BRIDGE over water and Back. Had to get one. and Larger Quads Flying Many miles and back with xtra batteries. All Transmitters should Have Built in screen to Eliminate need of Phone or Pad. With external output for larger monitor and Recording.
I forgot to add that I already had dji v2 glasses. If I were buying equipment now, it would without a doubt be a walksnail. but unfortunately the choice has already been made, you have to use what you have.
Hi Justin, Great video and review. I started with the Darwin 129 7in, I had to many issues with the GPS to fly long range, so I built a Source one 7in, and went with better quality electronics. I also have a 2.5w vtx but my only problem is noise from the motor. Thanks for the video and information about your Gear for long range flying.
I have my eye on the MOZ7. I have a Flywoo LR4 O3 and I love cruising. I kind of want to go faster over the treetops and not worry about wind as well. The MOZ7 looks like it can go pretty quick!
It could be sketchy yes. You would want to keep a high altitude on return. It works as long as you have a proper tested gps setup. You can hear it coming back, descend, and then LOS land it.
The croc walk snail version seems to have vanished? I was last building long range fpv drones in 2014, and looking to get back into things. This video was a great jumping point for where current tech stands. I'm leaning towards the walk snail over DJI, but anything will be better than the large lcd screen in a box and a fresnel lens I used to use lol.
what module should I buy for my Radiomaster tx16s if I were to buy the geprc mark4? l built my first 5 inch drone a couple months ago, but am still unsure when it comes to what parts are compatible.
So what’s the best first hd drone for discovering what I enjoy? Mainly drawn to out door flying and long range sounds appealing eventually. I just want to fly, not really in it for the cinematography. If a small indoor had drone is better to learn I would be open to that also.
For a beginner with no tech knowlege or inclination to build one (or patience). The complete drone package kits are already matched components ready to go. Of couse your not going to get high quality HD with long range, it's just starter system. 2 - 300.00 is cheap but maybe limited upgradabiliy.
@@buysomerice Maybe a 4" longrange Kwad like the Flywoo explorer would do the job. If you like to explore while developing more skills this would be a fun and less noicy, expensive, dangerous option.
Im looking to get a long range drone that’s easy to travel for mainly mountain cruzing. Would a 7 inch drone be a good mix of flight time and portability?
With GoPro 6" or even 5" with Lion Battery's would do the Job. Maybe not 8km but at least 2-3km is easy achievable. Without GoPro 4" would be the nicest size to travel with.
Any chance you have the foxxer 5w vtx? Can it fit inside the mark4 lr8? The 2.5w vtx doesn't put out its stated power. I get 2 miles out and get snow. I live in the desert so dry air and nothing taller than a bush in my flying area. I threw in a o3 for now but I want analog 😂 I have a mountain to visit. 10 miles away
@@dronecamps cool, thats gonna help me decide if I wanna pick one up or not as Im hoping for an upgrade over the V2 Pro Starlight Walksnail Cam! Thanks Camps 👊👍👍🇺🇸
I’m looking for a prebuilt drone that will get me a few Kilometers out initially, but can go much farther as I gain more experience. I have a feeling that the DJI ban just might go through and I’d like to be ready with a non DJI system if that happens. After watching many videos about various types of FPV drones I’m actually optimistic about the future. If I wanted to get some simulator time, what non DJI controller would I need? Btw - I enjoy your videos.
Go Analog. It doesn’t need to be updated or registered to a company’s servers. Any analog systems will be future proof. There is a new Analog ecosystem coming out from a company at the end of this month.
LMAO Dude 55.5 is so little recoil and you can get such compact Firearms chambered in 55.6 that I would say an AR-15 chambered in 55.6 is ENTERY LEVEL for Short/Long Barrel rifles

The first time gun owner analogy is nonsense. AR-15s are ergonomic and intuitive. They are very friendly for beginners, and extremely easy to use safely. The safety is literally right under your thumb. They are not advanced weapons - the military issues similar rifles to idiot 18 year old privates; they're intentionally idiot-proof. I would know because I was an idiot infantry private. A old-timey Colt Single Action Army 1873 revolver, on the other hand, is a confusing, awkward, and dangerous headache. It's easy to make a bad mistake. Just ask Alec Baldwin.
