The Amicitia family has long served as the shield protecting the kings of Lucis and their household. Gladiolus is its eldest son and it’s his duty to protect Noctis, the Crown Prince but the bond they share transcends that of a bodyguard and his liege. However, their friendship was originally off to a rocky start and it was thanks in part to Gladiolus’ sister that the two of them become close friends which you can see in Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV Episode 3.
Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV delves into the extraordinary friendships between Crown Prince Noctis and his three comrades, setting the stage for the adventure players will set out upon in the action RPG. Subsequent episodes will be released before the game's launch on November 29, 2016.

The most realistic part of this short was the Nif troops showing up and dropping in on your hunt as if the hunt wasn't difficult enough lol

In-game they are quite annoying too. They could spawn very far from the original point of combat and it affected a lot to post-battle evaluation
They helped me fighting by themselves and I got more level up and AP

It's less about guts and more about being an ignorant spoiled brat who had absolutely no idea what kind of ramifications her actions and behaviour could cause.
Anyone who still has the stupidity to call Noctis emo should just watch this episode. Perfectly conveys his compassion and love for people.
I don't think being "emo" and being compassionate are mutually exclusive, but I get what you are saying (i.e. that his character is not 1D).

Noct is not emo per se, he's more introverted, and I don't mean not outgoing or anti-social, he just has trouble conveying what he really feels to others...
Noct is not emo he's more complex than u think. It mskes sense the way he is cos he doesn't show a lot of emotion. Well most of the time
The anime version is stupid really, Noctis is nothing like that in the game. Seems whoever wrote the anime had no idea what the game about whatsoever
Knowing the backstories and connections between characters helps a lot in liking them, and I have to say that this anime is doing an amazing job at making you care about them, well done.
I know. . . I played episode Duscae and didn't even take the time to differentiate between who was Promto, Gladiolous, and Ignis. Anime is helping me to like the characters from the start. Hopefully the game is well written enough to build off it well.
Hopefully the game will also take time to establish the characters and their relationships to one another. It'd be really strange if the writers only relied on this series to explain the characters' backstories rather than also include something similar in the game.
yeah I was skeptical for the cast (specially due to it being all-male-in-black) for a long time but they've grown on me the more info we get
Most likely it'll do a much better job than the game itself. The game is not demoing very well and there are many rumors circulating that the gameplay is just awful. We'll see how it all pans out, but I won't be holding my breath...
Ikr, I actually didn't like the characters very much but after watching this anime I think i'm getting really "close" to them.
I didn't expect this to be such a feel-good series. Awesome.
the 1st episode was kind of sub par but from there it got much better
I actually enjoyed the small touch that Noct was a picky eater in the first episode. It helpes to characterise him as less of a sullen, cool dude and more as a guy who was fairly introverted and maybe slightly spouled from his royal upbringing.

So... if Iris hadn't fessed up and told her little secret.. Do you think Glad would actually hate Noct and the party wouldn't have Glad anymore? Even worse, Glad never actually teaches Noct how to properly fight, so Noct is a little weeny who gets stomped in combat.

This Brotherhood series is one of the best ways to promote a game that I've ever seen. With every episode, I want to play as these people more and more.

Isnt Gladio 23 and Noctis 20 in the game? How come in the Anime Gladio looks way older? Loved this episode anyway. I wish we knew more about how Gladdy got his scar and how he got so damn huge???!!!
I’m three years late but it’s probably because Gladio is a tank. When they’re older he still dwarfs noctis
The scar going down his left eye is explained in-game through the Gladious Episode Addon in which he earns it from from fighting Gilgamesh

This series is absolutely wholesome, really didn't expect it.
Ich liebe die Charaktergestaltung. Diese Hintergrundgeschichte zu den Charakteren und ihre Bindung zu Noctis sind sehr interessant und wirklich schön. Es ist immer wieder beeindruckend, wie ein Mensch eine ganze Gruppe miteinander verknüpft. Vor allem, dass man trotz Charakterentwicklung von Noctis nicht die anderen Charaktere, denen die Flashbacks gewidmet sind, aus dem Fokus verliert, ist wirklich gut gemacht. Die Serie macht wirklich Lust auf das fertige Spiel!

Gladio is short for Gladiolus though, not Gladius :)

Wow, between this and episode 2, I can already tell that I'm going to love the game. Just as long as it manages to keep up THIS kind of great chemistry between the characters. It's going to be a lot of fun.

A solid formula that never fails to deliver: a stand-alone reminiscence of an event that changed the perspective of one on another after an unexpected development of events that renders the focal character from denial into acceptance. Works all the time, and this episode is no exception. Excellent episode.
Every episode per month are getting better. I'm never gonna play the game because I cant afford the console. But watching the series seems like I experienced 3% of the game. Thanks square

Man, this game should have had metal gear solid length cutscenes, there’s not enough in the game to have that true emotional impact they aim for at the end unless you know like 80% of the lore. This story, world, aesthetic , and characters are so amazing I wish there was more of it with more cutscenes and less awkward pacing in some of the in game dialogue parts.
exactly my thoughts. the game has great characters and had so much potential, but the storyline rly sabotaged it. i found myself not even feeling the moments that were meant to be very dramatic, and that's something i rarely struggle with.
This episode exemplifies the in-game experience.

gladio really didnt like the prince in the begunning, but he really changed his opinions of the prince, near the end.
I think i begin to like him, he have a kind heart and polite attitude even though he is a future-king, unlike some narrow minded brat name Sasuke.

This is THE best advertising campaign for a game ever! I'm learning more about these characters, their lives and motivations, and I'm getting attached to them. I can not wait for this game to come out now, but I also worry that these videos will stop once it does, and I don't want that to happen! :(

C'est clair, y a pas à dire Square Enix gère là avec FFXV. Bravo à eux :)
C'est super, mais à chaque épisode, j'ai peur. J'ai peur parce que clairement, l'univers de FF XV est ultra riche, à tel point qu'il déborde du jeu. Mais justement, j'ai peur que ça soit trop riche et trop brouillon... Ou bien qu'au contraire, le jeu n'explore plus grand chose parce que toutes les histoires ont été racontées avant... x)

(Pourtant, les histoires entre les persos sont vraiment cools, ça, il y a aucun doute x) )
Bin, il y a un potentiel là. Dans des univers riches bien exploités on a A Song Of Ice and Fire comme livre ( et son adaptation discutable en série : Games Of Thrones )... certes c'est dans un autre domaine mais au fond ça se rejoint puisque le jeu vidéo permet de développer une histoire de manière bien plus proche du livre que du film. Donc si Square Enix gère bien, on peut se retrouver avec du très très lourd :)

Ha ha ha, effectivement, bien que la saga originale rencontre un certain succès ( accrue avec la série d'ailleurs ), il y a encore une majorité de gens qui ne se fie qu'à la série... Vraiment dommage, tellement l'oeuvre originale est bien plus complexe ( et intéressante, à mon goût ).
Et puis depuis la saison 4 la série a fait un beau bras d'honneur aux livres donc bon ^^

yep if it was an american game that would probably be caused by some random war moment but its japanese so it will certainly be some Sagat vs Ryu super traumatic event
The Lucis empire was so focused on looking fly as hell that they forgot to strengthen their defenses and that's why they lost to the Niff empire.
