I respect Horace for being cool with all those Michael questions. If I was up there for my own interview and you start asking me silly shit like what Michael used to eat for dinner, it's a wrap.
that's the way it is I don't understand what people are trippin about. He played with the greatest and that's what people want to know about he had the inside scoop. Horace knows and understands that. You idiot people don't though.
Joseph Martinez That's obvious and understandable. It's to be expected that they would ask him a few questions about MJ. My point was that they asked him several questions when he is there for his own interview and the "what did Michael eat?" question was silly so if I was asked that I would be like "come on, yall dont have nothing better to ask me about myself?"
sakecity7 It wasn't a dumb question to me. I'd like to know what Michael Jordan would eat pregame meals and stuff like that. Whatever the heck he ate sure as hell worked why not know what he ate? Horace was a great player no doubt. He was definitely more famous and I believe wouldn't have been as good had he not played with Michael Jordan he like Scottie Pippen were better players because Michael Jordan expected you to be. They were accountable to him and it worked because Horace became a great role player.
Joseph Martinez I didn't say it was a dumb question, I said in my opinion it was a silly question. That sounds like something a kid would ask him. They might as well have asked what Michael's favorite color was. Would it be somewhat interesting to find out what kind of diet Michael followed? Sure, if you are watching a long documentary about him and that was one of the topics they touched on. Even then it's not really that important because I'm sure when he was young and in his prime he could have eaten McDonalds and Pizza Hut everyday and still been the greatest. But to ask that to someone else who is up there for their own interview I thought was silly. And most pro athletes or former athletes have egos and get uptight if you ask them too many questions about other people. Thats why I said I respect Horace for not being like that and just playing along.
People tend to forget that back in the day, this man right here we used to call the "All purpose man". Horace Grant during the Bulls reign was the best All purpose, consistent, go to, clutch, reliable talent in the game, and also in the history of the game. Great to finally 20 years later hear him in such a candid interview.
@RTHA300 Horace Grant gave me my first Christmas gift ever back in 1994. He and other Orlando Magic players came to a very tiny Haitian church in Orlando and gave all the kids gifts. He answered my questions as a 9 year old, shook my hand and was very kind. I will never forget that Christmas. Derek Strong was there as well. Great time to be a kid even though I was in the ghetto.

cbreeze864 You would too if your teammates were and old George Gervin, Jawaan Oldham, Gene Banks, Granville Waiters, Dave Corzine, Ronnie Lester, Mitchell Wiggins (Andrew's father), Kyle Macy, etc... and you had to beat the Boston Celtics with Dennis Johnson, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish. Jordan had two teammates worth a damn early on. Orlando Woolridge and Charles Oakley. So Scottie is great but you ain't gotta hate on MJ fam.
Not the same Scottie Pippen that had the migraine not the same Scottie that got mad and sat on the bench while Kukoc hit the game winner Scottie was good but definitely not a hall of famer if he didn't have Jordan
+j ruffin I thought that was the best question in the interview. All the rest of this stuff about Michael is already common knowledge. Pineapple! Did not know that.
+KJ Carson Right but MJ underhandedly pulled a trash bulls team to the playoffs without pippen and played against some of the greatest teams in history. Pip lost out to the Knicks, albeit, they cheated Pip with that phantom foul but still.
jaxsonlee10 yes but pippen was a VET on that bulls team and Jordan was a rookie the first playoff, and ran into the celtics (5 hall of famers) the next 2 years. Complete different scene totally. It makes a difference once context is put to it.
Credit to Horace for how affably he handled everything. Myself, there's something I don't like about 1) talking to your guest endlessly about another great player (a few questions are fine), and 2) virtually worshiping an athlete. I mean, c'mon, guys. A little less fanboy, a little more serious adult basketball fan. Some of the questions were good, though.
MJ's goal was to make the Bulls the toughest sunavabitches in the NBA. Why? Because in order for you to be able to beat the "Bad Boys", the Knicks and so many other tough teams, guess what... YOU HAD TO BE TOUGH. MJ made sure that everybody on his team knew that this shit is for real. You want to be the best team in the NBA? You want the history records to have your name in stone? Then you've got to get your shit together and go through hell. Thats why practices were ferocious and exhausting, thats why mentally MJ was pushing everyone to their limits. MJ wasnt trying to be nice.... when MJ was nice he was getting his ass beat by Pistons... MJ was trying to make them a championship team that wouldnt be intimidated by anyone. And as a Leader, he did EXACTLY THAT!
I enjoyed this interview. However, this is not you and your homies talking over a game of NBA Live. And its not you and your boys at the barbershop where you have as much knowledge as the next man. This is Horace Grant! When he's telling a story, believe he is going somewhere with it. He has insight and too many times they cut him off before he made his point. That's not riding him, that's just respect.
The way Horace Grant did this interview just boosted my respect for him 10 fold. For years he was rumored to have despised M.J. I have to say this proves he respected Mike much more than he'd been credited for. Hat's off Ho Grant.
When your being asked about one of the best moments in your life you ain't gonna throw dirt on your teammates but if Things come out we're people are talking down on your name u fckn right u gon defend yourself and HG is bigger then mj if they went at it who knows he might have smacked up mj

Horace played in an era when the NBA was a man's league. The guys today wouldn't be able to play against the old school teams with the old school rules.
@@tharealest8190 You're crazy. They players today can't even make a wide open 3 in the corner. Watch the finals games between Boston and LA back in the day.... those guys could shoot. The bad boys from Detroit would injure the starting five from any team today. Then they'd beat up refs after the game. The league today is too soft.
@@tharealest8190 LOL! The rules favor these little pansies in the league today. If they had to play when basketball was basically hockey on wood with no pads guys like Steph Curry would get killed.
"No, of course not! Because. if MJ goes out, the Bulls go out." Lmao Horace Grant knows they need MJ as a big essential key to the Bulls in order to win their first 3 championships, but Horace knows he can squab on Mike lmaooooooooooo! Love the two, and loved the Mike-Scott-Horace trio. My favourite of all time and Horace is probably my favourite.
Fast forward to 2024, The Last Dance comes out, Horace is on a "No Bull" tour supposedly to set the record straight about Jordan. My how times have changed.
The Last Dance has given me more input on who MJ was behind the scenes than ALL the other documentaries on MJ combined. IMO it’s only made MJ more legendary. Always heard about his crazy competitive nature from other players, but to actually see a glimpse of it behind the scenes is something else. They were NOT exaggerating.
It's literally produced by MJ himself. It's his side of the story. Anything he didn't want was cut out. Not saying it's all false but not independent or unbiased. Only things that made MJ look bad are things we all already knew. MJ is the GOAT but the Last Dance is not hard hitting journalism. It's a puff piece.
@@jon-snow-GOT Straight up. I actually didn't know Michael was so hands on in the documentary. You'd think a guy who has a billion dollars sees things like his that as being trivial. He really is an insecure and petty guy. He greenlit this doc in 2016 after LeBron beat the 73-9 warriors. I don't like LeBron but they both have 1 thing in common. They both are super duper conscious of their image, unlike a guy like Charles Barkley or Reggie Miller or even Tim Duncan. I won't forget Kobe. This is why I love Kobe more than MJ, he doesn't have that female insecurities. Yeah, this whole documentary showed us that MJ wanted to be seen as a messiah. Let's be honest guys, the NBA made sure MJ won those rings. A lot of rules were changed for MJ to excel. Fishy stuff man
They shouldve asked him about Jordan being suspended by Stern for gambling on NBA games and "trying his hand" at baseball... Sidenote... Scottie Pippen's the greatest perimeter defender of all-time.
I lived in Chicago for 20 years back in the 80's and 90's. Horace Grant and Scottie Pippen would come out to play for special events by the lake and I used to watch them play and everything. Both of these guys seemed so freaken tall they didn't have to jump to dunk the ball! Everybody always talks about Michael's and Scottie's friendship but, Horace and Scottie were even closer friends that they were to Michael. The Bulls would have won even more championships if Horace had not left. Big mistake by Jerry Krause.
They won 3 more championships after he left. Yes he was valuable, but they put up that(at the time) historical 72-10 season on their way to another title without him as well.
Bucks- Bulls game 2 this year. It was a fucking football game. Thats kind of a misnomer that gets thrown around.. theres some soft calls but its getting better. There are more and more scrappy, physical players comin in the league every year. Look at the KY starting 5!

Much respect to Horace Grant👍 I grew up on 90s ball, still love the game but man those Bulls were something else. Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bulls in the early 90s, i was a witness my brothers, I was a witness .
duuuuude theyre sooo bad, ive seen one vid where they had a proper black guest on, and they were all going on and on about post malone being racist/mis appropriating the culture or something, meanwhile they were interuppting their black guest and wouldnt let him speak. cannot stand them that ebro guy isnt even black, im pretty sure theyre both jewish the other guy is definetely jewish and they try to talk like theyre black... anything ive seen of them is always super cringey, they should not have a show.
"what was mjs favorite thing to get at dinner" damn. disrespectful. you got Horace Grant in front of you and your asking him about what MJ liked to order after games lmao?
Grant is blowing my mind by how humble he is he was right behind pippen early 90s he was Grant the rodman of the team and huge chance when Grant was playing it seriously could of been the greatest bulls team ever they sucked when Grant left they had absolutely no chance at the first 3 without Grant yet he credits everyone but himself love Grant I think this interview made him my favorite player he was always up there
I feel bad for Horace because of all those questions about MJ, but to those who are angry and are saying that they should have just interviewed MJ, the title of this video says "Horace Grant Goes In On The REAL Michael Jordan!!!" What did you guys expect lol?
A true gentleman. I remember Horace always was calming things down and breaking up fights. Never remember seeing him fighting anyone. Of course, I didn't see THAT MANY games back then. But I saw more than a few.
Horace Grant has got be one of the most underrated, humble and genuine NBA dudes ever. Love him. Did great things on every team he played for.

MJ didn't have a winning season without Scottie Pippen, but Pippen did have a winning season without MJ. That is how good Scottie Pippen was.
MJ had 3 straight first round exits.
cbreeze864 You would too if your teammates were and old George Gervin, Jawaan Oldham, Gene Banks, Granville Waiters, Dave Corzine, Ronnie Lester, Mitchell Wiggins (Andrew's father), Kyle Macy, etc... and you had to beat the Boston Celtics with Dennis Johnson, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish. Jordan had two teammates worth a damn early on. Orlando Woolridge and Charles Oakley. So Scottie is great but you ain't gotta hate on MJ fam.
Scottie was the truth. Scottie in his prime is one of the best ever period. No matter what generation
Scottie took over with a squad that was built around MJ
Not the same Scottie Pippen that had the migraine not the same Scottie that got mad and sat on the bench while Kukoc hit the game winner Scottie was good but definitely not a hall of famer if he didn't have Jordan
Much love to Mr.Grant who was my favorite bull who had class but held his own when fools tripped!
he really ask Grant what does Mike orders to eat?
+j ruffin Mike was probably his idol thats why
+Chris H Still embarrassing.
Horace sounds like an idiot
+j ruffin
I thought that was the best question in the interview. All the rest of this stuff about Michael is already common knowledge. Pineapple! Did not know that.
Lmfao
MJ and Pippen have the same amount of rings WITHOUT each other. Zero. Pippen was underrated and so was Grant.
+KJ Carson Co-sign that 100!!
+KJ Carson Right but MJ underhandedly pulled a trash bulls team to the playoffs without pippen and played against some of the greatest teams in history. Pip lost out to the Knicks, albeit, they cheated Pip with that phantom foul but still.
+AKW Walker
yeah but pip actually one a playoff matchup without mj and mj never did.
jaxsonlee10 yes but pippen was a VET on that bulls team and Jordan was a rookie the first playoff, and ran into the celtics (5 hall of famers) the next 2 years.
Complete different scene totally. It makes a difference once context is put to it.
+AKW Walker
mj had like 5 or 6 years before he won any playoff matchups.
"You mean like Charles Barkley?" Lol Love it! 😊
When he asked the question I thought about Charles too 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Brings back a lot of child hood memories. Thanks for the memories Horace. Awesome times.
Class act sir! Continue please...to be a man of character. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
And as a Leader, he did EXACTLY THAT!
absolutely right
Dawg you must be some kind of basketball historian
And they changed the rules for him
Fact
🍹🍔🍟
I enjoyed this interview. However, this is not you and your homies talking over a game of NBA Live. And its not you and your boys at the barbershop where you have as much knowledge as the next man. This is Horace Grant! When he's telling a story, believe he is going somewhere with it. He has insight and too many times they cut him off before he made his point. That's not riding him, that's just respect.
Thats ego on their part. Ebro think he does no wrong
The way Horace Grant did this interview just boosted my respect for him 10 fold. For years he was rumored to have despised M.J. I have to say this proves he respected Mike much more than he'd been credited for. Hat's off Ho Grant.
Moral of the story: Will never set illegal picks again.. 💯😂😂😂🤦🏾♂️
Funny cuz he capped for MJ on this and now during the Last Dance documentary he’s hitting up Shannon Sharp talking different lol 😂😂
Nellz 508 right that’s why I’m here to see if he had something to say

When your being asked about one of the best moments in your life you ain't gonna throw dirt on your teammates but if Things come out we're people are talking down on your name u fckn right u gon defend yourself and HG is bigger then mj if they went at it who knows he might have smacked up mj

HORACE GRANT For Keeping Michael in the Light We all know him to be & not take pop shots at Mike after benefitting from his great Greatness which allowed anyone he played with in the 90s to have Championship Memories, Stories to tell & to be on the Winning Side of the battles. THANK YOU HORACE GRANT & THANK HOT 97 for having such great Athlete & cool guy like Horace Grant on your show to share with US Memories of Playing with THE G.O.A.T.!!!
Oakley being his mentor makes soooooooooooooooooo much sense now, lololol!
Horace played in an era when the NBA was a man's league. The guys today wouldn't be able to play against the old school teams with the old school rules.
Kawhi could probably
@@idkanymore9869 There was no such thing as load management then so I doubt he would be willing to play now. LOL!
Dude stop , the current nba players are FAR more talented and athletic than the old school nba players . The current nba would dog walk the old era
This is pure gold lol i could listen to MJ stories all day every day.
FYI, pineapples has an enzyme called 'Bromelain', that reduces inflammation in the body. It is good for joints. That may be one reason why MJ ate it.
Bismillah Rabbani Thanks for clearing that up for these overly sexed idiots on here...
It also destroys your teeth...js😁😁😁
"No, of course not! Because. if MJ goes out, the Bulls go out." Lmao Horace Grant knows they need MJ as a big essential key to the Bulls in order to win their first 3 championships, but Horace knows he can squab on Mike lmaooooooooooo! Love the two, and loved the Mike-Scott-Horace trio. My favourite of all time and Horace is probably my favourite.
Mj is the goat
Someone needs to replay this for Horace Grant now after the Last Dance since he just went off on MJ after episode 10
Horace is 50 in this interview. Dude barely looks 40. Black don't crack!
Black on crack?
Lotion...
And you know this! 💯
@@draftking77312 now why you had to be an asshole
No they just smoke it.
Gotta be kinda crazy when you do an interview and all the hosts want to do is ask questions and talk about somebody else...😜
@@jon-snow-GOT
Straight up. Fishy stuff man
@@ishmaelm1932 mj is the goat
@@ishmaelm1932 the nba made sure MJ won those rings? Like for real? 🤣🤣😂😂😅😅
They shouldve asked him about Jordan being suspended by Stern for gambling on NBA games and "trying his hand" at baseball...
Sidenote... Scottie Pippen's the greatest perimeter defender of all-time.
“Horace, welcome! Now let’s talk about MJ...”
Underrated but always appreciated
Legendary! Great interview!
Good interview i always liked H.Grant classy dude
Rodman
Dudes didn't even remember Horace played with Kobe on Lakers lol.
"Hey what did MJ wear to sleep at night? " - Ebro and Rosenberg
Nice interview. Horace seems pretty humble and gracious.
Does everyone notice how Horace Grants comments in this video are differ a bit from the stuff he's saying now post Last Dance?
I agree
Exactly why I am here. I met Horace a few years ago and he’s a cool dude. I was surprised after watching Shannon sharpe say he’s angry with MJ
They made him look like a punk on the doc..And saying you let another man punk you, should change your energy
The NBA is way softer then it used to be..
***** OH shut the fuck up dumbass grammar Nazi, you idiots fall under the trolls section.
of course it was they are the reason its like it is now plus punching each other in the face is not real basketball
patrick ray I bet you ask daily, "do you want fries with that'. Dullard pedantic
Bucks- Bulls game 2 this year. It was a fucking football game. Thats kind of a misnomer that gets thrown around.. theres some soft calls but its getting better. There are more and more scrappy, physical players comin in the league every year. Look at the KY starting 5!

I wonder if MJ watched this interview, I should ask Horace
how they gonna bring Grant on but it becomes The Jordan Show? disrespectful.
Why u think they brought him on
+G. Coleman 💯

Grant took it there....
I was thinking the same thing. Do they want to talk to Grant, or only talk about Jordan!!?
Now that’s a good dude right there, no ego, just down to earth and humble AF. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hate when interviews go this way. Grant is there and it’s all about MJ. Royce da 5’9 shows up, it’s all about Eminem.

One of my all time favorites, and what a great story of him and his twin brother playing in the league at the same time
I feel bad for Horace because of all those questions about MJ, but to those who are angry and are saying that they should have just interviewed MJ, the title of this video says "Horace Grant Goes In On The REAL Michael Jordan!!!" What did you guys expect lol?
This was a really good interview.
A true gentleman. I remember Horace always was calming things down and breaking up fights. Never remember seeing him fighting anyone. Of course, I didn't see THAT MANY games back then. But I saw more than a few.
