I use my mini max more now than I do my other chatterbaits. Something about it just seems to get me more bites. Love the content man appreciate you making these videos for us
I just have minimaxes cause i fish ponds in md where the bass arent very big, but despite that, the minimax has produced so many 2.5-3.5 lbers for me recently
This has quickly become my go to chatterbait now here in the Midwest. One trailer I’ve found to do insanely well here is the zman split tail trailer that they made for spinnerbaits. Makes it look just like a small minnow which has been crushing them this fall even caught 12 in a row at one point with that setup.
Great video. Thank you for going into detail of what you were seeing under the water and where exactly you were tossing your bait and where you were bringing it through on your retrieve. Great detail. Excellent video. I have spent hours fishing a bladed bait including the Mini-max. I have never caught a fish on a bladed bait. Very frustrating. I’ve watched hours of videos on technique. Still no fish. I was about to throw my bladed baits in the garbage, but maybe I’ll give them another chance. Keep up the great work.
So I spent all last Sunday with a white(not sure of the official color scheme) mini max in my hand. It was the ONLY lure I threw all day. I gotta say… it’s a fun lure to catch fish on AND it caught me some really nice bass. Best way I found to catch them. Cast out, reel about 5-6 feet at a medium retrieve, and pop the rod 1, 2, or 3 times. Varying the pop count of course. The fish were hitting it on the fall and just running away with it. It was a blast. Thanks for the tips, tricks, and advice Tyler!!
I've fished the 1/4 Oz, Chatterbait mini for a long time with a Kietech easy shiner. I've caught bunches of fish on it. That was my finesse Chatterbait. Guess the minimax is the next natural progression for me to keep it down and fish it a little quicker. But I do like fishing slow.
I could not agree more!! Places I can’t get a sniff with a jackhammer and they munch this thing! I’ve been loving the black blue 1/2oz with a blue and chartreuse Keitech. That and the good old menace fit it perfectly. It’s been a great summer with them so far! I expect it to get even better!

Thanks Tyler, I am on that mini max also. Trailer wise I use cut trick and speed worms. I want to help your fishing a little. Stay away from back hand hook sets you need some work on it I know because I need work on mine. I don't have a quick snap set. Watch your video again you will see it too.
I used your link and bought the minimax chatter bait and I absolutely crushed them on my local river today. 13 bass in all. A mix of largemouth and smallmouth with a 2 lb smallie. I agree with you. The minimax is the best chatterbait I fished.
I’ve basically stopped throwing all of my other chatterbaits. The mini-max has been amazing for me. New small Zako trailer works nice, so does smaller SwimOn.
Couldn't agree more, I fish a lake with no grass but they used to smoke chatterbaits, then it became only in the springtime and can hardly buy a bite on in the summer. I have a few minimax but have never thrown them
Ponds are worse the bass avoid the chatterbaits after they get caught a few times. Usually in the spring they had a winter of not seeing or hearing them.
I'm new to chatterbaits and have an original one in white and chartreuse. I haven't caught a thing with it, yet. The smaller blade makes sense to me, the original seems really aggressive. It might be better for windy days or muddy water. The smaller one makes sense for cleaner water or calmer days. I think I'll try the smaller one. I'm more of a saltwater guy and I wonder how chatterbaits will do there. Looks like a good redfish lure, and it should catch snook and maybe cobia. I need to find out.
The mini max is completely different vibe because of the smaller blade. You can still throw a 3/8oz mini max and it will target different fish than the 1/4oz standard chatterbait.
Like the mini max myself it a great little bladed jig. Fish have seen so many bigger bladed and profile bladed jigs in some places they just don't hit them as much anymore.
Awesome video Tyler! I just bought 2 of them. Have not used them yet. Going out tomorrow morning to practice for a tournament. Going to try them out. Thanks for the awsome content. Tight lines bro 👍
How do you maneuver your rod to keep a fish pinned on light fishing rods? Some people say keep your rod high and tension on. Some people say keep your rod down and maybe even in the water to keep the fish from jumping. I’m usually parallel casting the bank to either my left or right and most of catches get hooked 20 - 30 feet to either side of me. I know every component of your combo makes a difference including hook , line, rod action, but I’m just curious about the best technique for how to hold a rod and fight the fish
Maybe in your lakes but not in mine least not the three lakes I do 70% of my bass fishing in Best chatterbait for me has been the first one I tried the Enticer Chatterbaits by Bass Pro Chartreuse and white or blue gill colors May till fall and Blk/blue sparkle flake in pre spawn out fished both the Zman and Slobberknocker by over a 5:1 ratio Pays to experiment
The Mini Max is ok at best, but I think they're missing a huge opportunity. Zman should have made a Jackhammer Jr. Same size/weights as the Mini Max, but all of the colors/components from the Jackhammer. They should also transfer all of the Jackhammer colors to the Stealth Blade and add a 1/4oz option.
What's the difference between the mini and the mini max? I see the mini only comes in 1/4 and the max also comes in 3/8 and 1/2... so need the max if need heavier weight. I'm a pond/bank guy, would a 1/4 oz mini serve same purpose for half the price?
Pike have been destroying my chatterbait this year on my local lake with a handful of bass on it. So if there's any pike anglers, or muskie I'm sure, chatterbait may be a way to go.
Absolutely love the mini max. Fished a tournament last week and destroyed them with it. Broke it off unfortunately. Tied a jack hammer on and could not get another bite with a bladed jig. And living in SW Ohio smaller profile gets em good
Yeah, he's definitely an umm , I haven't seen any new videos but anyway as others have said , It's a jig with a blade, remove the blade and you get, yep they're right!
Bro you need some better gear man stop fishing that cheap crap. Get with the program and start fishing Shimano only way to go. You’re reel sounds like it’s going to explode 👎
Man, your content is consistently excellent. I have learned a ton from your videos. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the kind words! It means a kot

It’s a dynamite bait! Thanks for watching
Because it isn't used as much, fish aren't accustomed to it.
@@judweaver3635 probably right. I’ve got to where I use it a lot now

Great video.....love how you superimposed the graphics onto the scene to show what you were doing with the retrieve. Very helpful to visualize.
Really enjoy your videos. Your passion for fishing really comes through. I have learned a ton watching you . Thank you

Im going to have to try that caffeine shad trailer…looks very effective thank you for the very informative video.

So deadly

i just caught my pb small mouth on a white mini max as well as consistantly catch 3-4 lb smallies awesome little bait that is usually always tied on
You talked me into trying it, and I did catch a couple on it last night. Thanks for the tip.
Great video, I just ordered some of those new slobber knocker chatterbaits. Can't wait to give them a try
I just picked up a few too ;)
@@BassFishingHQ They looked awesome. I have had good luck on Chatterbaits down here

Gotta say I appreciate your hookset style not being so exaggerated compared to others. Gotta find me a mini max in Canada to try out for sure.
I catch so many more fish of all sizes on the mini-max up north. Smallmouth, Largemouth, Pike, Muskies. Way more bites than the other models.
It really is a great bait. I have caught a lot of other species on them too
@@BassFishingHQ black and blue with white or blue Zman RaZor shad, killer.
@@BassFishingHQ is the jack hammer good though?
Good small bladed jig. I'm on the fence on getting some or just go with a 1/4 oz
I really like the 3/8oz. I can cast it just like I would a regular jackhammer but yet it has that more subtle action and size

Can you use full sized trailers? Also whats the weight to use for the mini max?
Hey nice vid what do you think is the best chatter bait now
I love the mini max! I use a trick worm tail as a trailer
Ty, have you tried the slobberknocker? Fishing Berlin lake this week on a tournament
Curious how the mini max will work in the Florida canals and ponds. Love their action , may match it up with the rainbow shad from zoom
What is the difference between the zman mini or mini max?
Tyler great video 📹 Thank you for sharing 👍
What ounce? what plastic do you have on the hook? And which colors?
Loving these videos.... The information is exceptional But, why does no one talk about the what weight to use and when/why?
Great video. Very interesting.
Tyler- I started using minimax in that Exact color this past spring. Up river on Lanier - prespawn beauty! 7.5lb LM , baby !!
Got some tonight gonna try the feather method you got 🔥
Awesome video Tyler! I just bought 2 of them. Have not used them yet. Going out tomorrow morning to practice for a tournament. Going to try them out. Thanks for the awsome content. Tight lines bro 👍
I use z-man chatter bait without trailer. First time I used a black blue chatter bait I caught a chain pickerel on it back in early July
Excellent video , do you change out the clip on the mini chatterbait?
You basically turned that caffeine shad into a dream shot, which is also an excellent trailer.
I like the comparison to the crank bait. Better yet is the landing %. I’d rather jack them with a single hook
The new big blade is even better!
Feathering it brother just like lord fedsmoker 👌
I’ve been doing really well with the thunder cricket
I fish from bank. Wts a good weight for these in the shallows ?
Excellent review. I have noted Chatterbait bites have dropped off. Looking forward to Mini Max and am intrigued about Berkley's new bladed jig
Man awesome video! I've been trying this setup and no but knew I was fishing wrong.
Oh and also seeking my 1st BASS! Small or large. Got the rock bass but man the others I have not been able to find nor get. Pike for me I guess 😄 🤣
See SO has the chatter bait mini max on sale but can anyone tell me if the chatter bait mini is the same as the mini max???
I’ve just started with the mini max trying to match the small hatch.
Great vid Tyler! I want to learn about a 'secret' lure.
I use a smaller zoom fluke on it and they hammer it
Any ZMan for me, but especially the minimax are great
Just bought 4 mini max today. Fishing indian lake ohio. It's tough here as I'm sure you know.

I am not Tyler but I do keep my rod low after hook set until the bass is close to the boat and a little less spunky.
what length and power rod do you use
What makes this much different than the regular mini?
"Downsize after Sunrise" that's how I roll ....unless their on and the Bubba baits r Workin ! Great channel brother. Is that accent from Long Island ?
Been fishing this for years aka the the Mini & Micro chatter bait. Now just a bigger hook and $5 more. P.S. love your channel.
Don't they have big blades?
Maybe in your lakes but not in mine least not the three lakes I do 70% of my bass fishing in

@@kevinbeaudean704 so what's a mini then, 1/4 size with same blade as the "original" chatterbait? Is the hook the same on mini and mini max, any idea?

i cant agree more with the minimax; i literally get about 5X more bites with it than a regular chatterbait.

What the best reel speed to use 6.5:1 or 7.3:1 for chatter bait
I personally like something in the 7 range
@@BassFishingHQ Thank you. My Quantum smoke S3 baitcaster has 7.3:1. The 6.5:1 in a Daiwa baitcaster. Have a good night
