As a bank angler .... highly recommend the zman crosseyez chatterbait. I run it right through pads, grasses, brush etc .... only color I buy is green pumpkin like you said because max depth I’m fishing in is 6 ft and they’re smaller bodies of water. I use different trailers to tweak the color and fish at different depths. Plus the crosseyez can be found cheap, picked up 10 for $28 at a local tackle shop on a bogo sale. .... this series is great. After watching these I’m trying to focus on maybe 2-3 choices for each category. For examples senko style baits, green pumpkin red and June bug red. Lipless, blue gill, olive shad, and a red pattern.
@@collieer I vary it up. Straight retrieve, yo-yo, drag, flip ... I fish it like a jig. For straight retrieve i use a swim bait or twin tail grub rigged vertical. For everything else I use a craw style trailer
I 100% agree with you Tyler on using the the old original chatter bait. Like you, I use them all but I think the old one catches more because now a days it’s the one they hear and see the least. Merry Christmas and as usual, love your videos
Best bladed jigs are the picasso shock blade PRO’s. The regular shock blade had a flaw, it was great but the blade didnt sit flat so it actually blocked the hook in certain instances and prevented a hookup. The pros have fixed that, i start throwing them last season instead of thunder crickets and jackhammers and I noticed a huge increase in strikes….they also swim a lil deeper. Theres new carbon fiber blade pros and big blade shock blade pros that have different vibrations and hunting actions. The jackhammers are used so so much that in most big lakes and pressured lakes fish are used to their sound and vibration.
I love black and blue. I use white and green pumpkin too but in my lake here in Michigan the white gets a lot of pike in my lake. I don’t know why but it does. There’s a lot of weeds in my lake too and that black and blue around the edges does well for me. Who knows. May just be a confidence thing for me but I like it
chatterbaits are super addicting, they're so satisfying to fish and catch fish on and they can produce really big ones too. it's gotta be my favorite lure to use
Im gonna tell you something that happened just the other night. It was getting dark, I was on the bank, and the shad started blowing up, crazy thing is every time they blew up it sounded like a cell phone on vibration mode, that buzzing sound. The closest sound was the Original Chatterbait. Not exact but close. First time I've heard that but it was very quiet. I think that's why spinnerbaits work well too.
Great content, Tyler! You always make common sense points that are game changers for the beginner. Some Pros don't feel like we need to know that stuff I guess. Thank you for the effort!
Really enjoyed this episode of bass fishing hope you enjoy the rest of the holidays for us fishing season is right around the corner! And today I got my learner’s permit to drive soon I can go to all kinds of good spots!!
Thank for the info!. Here in Monterrey (Mexico), I use Chatterbait mostly at Cuchillo Lake and is amazing, specially white color,it is a killer!!.I haven't try something like the red/fire one that you showed, I think I have something like that. Best Regards and Happy New Year!.
Good video, what do you think about the small sized chatterbait. Green Pumpkin and black/blue by far best producers for me. I don't fish shad lakes often. White, chartreuse, and other colors haven't produced well so I only carry them occasionally. Darker blades work best for me as well. Sometimes its hard to find them stocked anywhere.
Super informative. Chatter bait fishing is by far my favorite way to chase bass but I'm all over as far as color and where to use what. Appreciate the info and keep up the good work? 🤙🏻
Chatter bait is my nemesis. I’ve caught one (1!) fish on it. Feels weird, and seems to ride higher in the water column than I’d like-maybe due to weight selection on my part coupled with a most likely incorrect trailer.
Hi, I don't know if this will help you, but my best day fishing with chatterbait, was using a MH Extra Fast rod and with a stop and go retrieve. The water was not so clear and I was using a 1/2 oz white chatterbait.Try changing the way you retrieve the lure.Happy New Year!!
Been trying them for years. Not one fish, ever. Throw it in your tackle box to remind you what.not to buy again. Tie on a black plastic worm and go catch bass.
After I lost a Jackhammer a couple of times I said no more as they didn't work better than the cheap ones (They really don't) so I started making my own with a split ring attachment and a blade that does not violate any patents and guess what? The ones with the split ring work awesome, they vibrate like mad and do hit the head of the jig and have a more erratic hunting action. Caught tons of huge pike and bass on them this fall. Don't fall for the marketing hype on the Jackhammer it's only marginally better from some better components but they don't perform better in anyway that matters.
I went fishing in a pond today and caught 4 bass on a white CFL Freedom Chatterbait and 6 on an underspin. Merry Christmas Blessings to you and your family!
I have found that since I use lighter gear and lighter chatterbaits, a smaller trailer works best. I have had the most success just using a TRD for a trailer. Using a bigger trailer seems to kill the vibrations. Have you tried this?
Sup. I prefer original and thunder cricket, but want to try the new big head. I have to have chartreuse and a black/blue. But favorite is a brown(not sure what they call it?) Thunder cricket. Great tips. Merry Xmas. Ty tc
Good Stuff Ty Merry Christmas to you and your family. When would you throw a gold blade? Where perch are present ,and maybe on a dark or cloudy day?thanks God bless you and yours.
Great video as usual! I'm curious what rod action you use for Chatterbaits. I throw them a lot and use a Dobyns MH MF crankbait rod with 15# flouro in most instances.
Ihavean original that I slay reds on when I say original I mean it’s from when the lire first hit the market hope I don’t lose it I swear it vibrates so hard it lol loosen the screws in your reel if they aren’t snug. It came with no skirt and a few rubber minnow bodies and it is a flounder pounder too man
The jackhammer is the biggest ripoff in fishing besides the Megabass 110. You can make the regular zman a jackhammer simply by flattening the blade and matching the bend angle and location of the jackhammer and adding a snap to it. I don't think the skirt makes much difference.
not hating on chartreuse tho, it's my favorite color AND bass still smack it vs white sometimes and I don't understand it bc both colors are supposed to look white to a bass bc they only have red and green tricones in their eyes

Totallty agree
What kind of retrieve with chatter bait?
@@collieer I vary it up. Straight retrieve, yo-yo, drag, flip ... I fish it like a jig. For straight retrieve i use a swim bait or twin tail grub rigged vertical. For everything else I use a craw style trailer
@@farrzmd3038 gotcha. Thanks
Green pumpkin and shad or white. Stealth blade shirtless on pressured cleaner waters

That's awesome, showing the sound comparisons and depths they run as well. Thanks bro. 🤙 The original chatterbait is king, hands down!
i've been using the wrong chatterbaits in most places i fish, thanks for the input and can't wait to try out what i learned.
Absolutely love this channel. Always teaching more about everything than anyone else.
Awesome video! My favorite lure of all time 🔥🔥 chatterbait 🤘🏽 from the mini or micro, all the way up to the big ones ...THEY WORK!! PERIOD

Thanks Tyler, everyone loves a chatter bait video !
Pretty excited for the slobber knocker! Steady rippin!

I’ve kind of went back to the spinner bait up here in the Ozark Lakes but still throw the Jack Hammer every once in a while.
Chatterbaits are definitely my #1 confidence bait!! great video dude
Here in NC we have lots of that sweet tea colored water and man that black & blue just shines!!
Solid tips as usual my guy
I’m new to chatterbaits. Thanks for the introduction!
Thanks for the video. I fish the custom chatterbait, 3/8 or 1/2, a lot. Have a lot of confidence in it.
I really enjoy your content dude. My personal top choices are GP, B. Hite Delight, Firecraw, Spot Remover and Black & Blue.
Really enjoyed this episode of bass fishing hope you enjoy the rest of the holidays for us fishing season is right around the corner! And today I got my learner’s permit to drive soon I can go to all kinds of good spots!!
Any tips for simplifying trailers? Either color or type: lots of choices out there!
Great video 📹 I've had super lock with white /chartreuse and plain white. Haven't had muck lock with any other colors.
Man you make great videos! I always enjoy watching your videos because they are very in-depth. Love the content!
Love my 3/4oz white jacks. 20# line. Chuck and wind, it'll get 7'+ without letting it fall any
When it comes to adding a Zako or other trailer, do you suggest a matching color or a contrasting color for the trailer bait?

Hey Tyler was wondering what color jackhammer would you prefer for Florida panhandle area

Love your videos. Very
Informative
What trailer do you use on the firecracker bladed chatter bait?
What color trailer do you run with a firecraw chatterbait?
That stealth chatter is living up to its name. I couldn’t even see it 👀

what do you put for trailer on that big blade?

In der Schweiz würdest du deine Lizenz sehr schnell verlieren, weil du die Fische am Haken aus dem Wasser hebst.

Thank you for sharing... nice video
What Okuma rod are you using for the chatterbaits?
7’5” Okuma Cranking Series MH
Which 7'10" cranking rod would you suggest for chatterbaits? I throw 1/2 -3/4 jackhammers.
Man I wish I had some confidence in them. Every time I buy one, I lose it... My home lake is stumps galore!!
Where in ny
Shewww third vid lets go
Legitimately cannot shop at Sportsmans Outfitters because the e-mail sign-up box won't go away lol
Literally just picked up some fire craw OG chatterbaits from dicks for early spring. Great stuff man
I make my own
bass can't see chartreuse tho
they really only see red green white and black, and ultraviolet shit we can't see in about 28 different shades
not hating on chartreuse tho, it's my favorite color AND bass still smack it vs white sometimes and I don't understand it bc both colors are supposed to look white to a bass bc they only have red and green tricones in their eyes
