will forever defend blood drive until the day i die! idc how many people hate on it, i will never not love that game. even if it has flaws, i believe the interesting characters *(especially magari & misuto),* complex lore and rich emotional experience makes everything worth it. and ayumi is my fave character of all time, so naturally i am inclined to be biased in favor of it. it's been a decade since the game came out now, and i still love it with all my heart.
SPOILERS In my opinion, whereas "In the Rain" represented Ayumi Shinozaki's own self-doubt that she can atone for the mistakes she made, "Keshin" (or "Incarnation" to us English speakers) represents Ayumi's acceptance of her destiny and the fact that it's time to stop running. Blood Drive needed an OP to represent Ayumi finally coming to her own and not turning away from her responsibility, and "Keshin"/"Incarnation" delivered.
ElvenRaptor That and also it gave us a feeling of finality to the Shinozaki saga. And it was. The final chapter in not only the story of Yoshie, Sachiko, and the curse of the Nirvana, but also the final chapter for Ayumi and the rest of The First Five as well as the other tortured souls both alive and dead. Overall, I'm happy with how Blood Drive wrapped things up. While not the ending we all would've liked, in terms of the deceased the memories of their existence was restored, and out of The First Five, they all survived... technically.

Next to the opening theme of Tortured souls (Hoshikuzu no RING), Keshin is also my favorite Corpse Party opening song. If I have to say thanks to one thing for creating the series soundtracks, that would be 5pb. I also have to thank Asami Imai (Ayumi Shinozaki VA) for singing this song.
I don’t think it would be good to go with too realistic, but something more similar to the sprite art style would be cool, as I personally hated the chibi 3d models. But yeah, a remake would be cool (and rumors are, due to the 10th anniversary video of blood cover, there will be another port/remake soon...)

definitely not. she's for sure one of my favorite characters and protags of all time and it was really amazing to watch her growth from game to game :) part of me hopes we'll see her again in upcoming releases but the other part is happy with the way things ended and the growth she went through as a character
@@kelpshakeitup i hope we see again her as well! the way blood drive ended was very bittersweet, ambiguous, & kinda sad in terms of ayumi's fate :( she deserves a happier ending so i am (irrationally) hoping she has at least one more appearence in a future installment where her character is given some genuine closure & happiness, because she really deserves it. to me, ayumi shinozaki is on the same level as ahsoka tano from star wars & sidney prescott from the scream franchise. a strong, determined female character whose story doesn't simply revolve around a man, but has her own ambitions, likes, dislikes, goals, virtues & flaws, making her a complex human being who changes & develops over time and becomes resolute in achieving her goals, no matter the cost. and even though ayumi was sexualized quite a bit in the earlier games (all the female characters were, which is a very problematic element of the CoPa franchise), they toned down the sexualization of her quite a bit in book of shadows & blood drive (even though other female characters, like magari, were still heavily sexualized). the thumbnail of this video is a perfect example of a non-sexualized portrayal of a female character. it doesn't show her as an object of someone else's sexual desire, but rather a female human being with her own desires. also, in my opinion, ayumi was always the true protagonist of corpse party, even though satoshi was considered one in the first game. she, essentially, put the events of the game in motion by sharing the charm with everyone. without her there would be no corpse party. she is the alpha and the omega of the franchise. she has some of the greatest character development i have seen in a fictional character. her journey from being scared & helpless in blood covered repeated fear to being strong & resilient in blood drive is nothing short of amazing. but the greatest thing about her character to me is her DETERMINATION. she never gave up. no matter how bad things got. even when the world had ended, she still refused to give up & went back in time to fix her mistakes. i know this sounds strange, but her character has helped me a lot in my life. whenever i start going through something tough, i remember ayumi and realize that if she was able to save the world, i can overcome my situation. ayumi shinozaki is, and always will be, my favorite fictional character of all time.
I’m so excited to finally be playing this after five years. Even though I vaguely remember bits and pieces, this series is still something I look back on and never regret. It kinda screwed me up, but man was this series GOOD.

No, it's not just you. I changed it a little bit. :) This song contains several Buddhism terms. If I just stick these words in the translation, it would sound weird to people who have not heard these terms before, or are not familiar with them. Therefore, it is the translator's job to convey the same 'feel/imagery' using different words. I left the original terms as CC in case people want to search for more information about them. But essentially, the meaning is still the same.

ayumi shinozaki truly is a one-of-a-kind fictional character. we'll probably never have another character as unique and complex as her.
definitely not. she's for sure one of my favorite characters and protags of all time and it was really amazing to watch her growth from game to game :) part of me hopes we'll see her again in upcoming releases but the other part is happy with the way things ended and the growth she went through as a character

the way blood drive ended was very bittersweet, ambiguous, & kinda sad in terms of ayumi's fate :( she deserves a happier ending so i am (irrationally) hoping she has at least one more appearence in a future installment where her character is given some genuine closure & happiness, because she really deserves it.
to me, ayumi shinozaki is on the same level as ahsoka tano from star wars & sidney prescott from the scream franchise.
a strong, determined female character whose story doesn't simply revolve around a man, but has her own ambitions, likes, dislikes, goals, virtues & flaws, making her a complex human being who changes & develops over time and becomes resolute in achieving her goals, no matter the cost.
and even though ayumi was sexualized quite a bit in the earlier games (all the female characters were, which is a very problematic element of the CoPa franchise), they toned down the sexualization of her quite a bit in book of shadows & blood drive (even though other female characters, like magari, were still heavily sexualized). the thumbnail of this video is a perfect example of a non-sexualized portrayal of a female character. it doesn't show her as an object of someone else's sexual desire, but rather a female human being with her own desires.
also, in my opinion, ayumi was always the true protagonist of corpse party, even though satoshi was considered one in the first game. she, essentially, put the events of the game in motion by sharing the charm with everyone. without her there would be no corpse party. she is the alpha and the omega of the franchise.
she has some of the greatest character development i have seen in a fictional character. her journey from being scared & helpless in blood covered repeated fear to being strong & resilient in blood drive is nothing short of amazing.
but the greatest thing about her character to me is her DETERMINATION. she never gave up. no matter how bad things got. even when the world had ended, she still refused to give up & went back in time to fix her mistakes.
i know this sounds strange, but her character has helped me a lot in my life. whenever i start going through something tough, i remember ayumi and realize that if she was able to save the world, i can overcome my situation.

I’m so excited to finally be playing this after five years. Even though I vaguely remember bits and pieces, this series is still something I look back on and never regret. It kinda screwed me up, but man was this series GOOD.

This song contains several Buddhism terms. If I just stick these words in the translation, it would sound weird to people who have not heard these terms before, or are not familiar with them. Therefore, it is the translator's job to convey the same 'feel/imagery' using different words. I left the original terms as CC in case people want to search for more information about them. But essentially, the meaning is still the same.
