I love the way they built this relationship up so much. Especially with the way Ben was introduced in the show, almost as an antagonist, only for us as the audience to grow to love him. At the same time, we get to watch Ben fall in love with how awesome Leslie Knope is. They both complement one another so well, understand each other's passions and are willing to make sacrifices to ensure each other's best interests, and ultimately they make each other a better person in being together. Honestly one of my favorite relationships depicted on TV.
The only relationship that can level with this one is Amy and Jake from B99. Same producers though, which shows ❤ they write the most gorgeous love stories, the kind one really should aspire to
Good! Keep them! What's the point of a relationship with a guy you can't respect or a guy who is a jerk? Keep those standards. As long as you do your best to improve yourself as well, there's no reason why you can't expect to find a good guy someday.
Ben Wyatt’s defining characteristic is that he simply respects enthusiastically ambitious-career women. You don’t have to have a lot of standards to get that. Hell, that mutual level of respect should even be the bare minimum of what you seek in a guy.
I think all the interactions and moments he had with Leslie before the flu were him genuinely respecting her, admiring her, and being impressed with her all the while thinking she was cute, funny, and special. But when Leslie got the flu and Ben saw her amazing-ness in full force that day, that is when he completely and utterly fell in love with her ❤️

8:25 - by far my favorite moment from the start of their relationship. Just the look on her face when he likes and is drawn to that obscure thing that she loves and was shouting at Ann about earlier.
I remember when I watched Parks and Rec, I was totally on Ben's side the whole time. Sure, him implementing the budget cuts wasn't pleasant, but he was performing a completely necessary function and wasn't exactly being nasty about it either, just to the point. And then you have Chris who just said nice things and left Ben to be 'bad cop'. Because of that, I really didn't like Chris at first because he basically dumped everything on Ben and pretended eveything was sunshine and rainbows.
Chris was actually the bad guy in season 3. But he wasn't being fake Chris is just a very happy person. He explains why on his first date with Ann. He was supposed to die as a child but never did. So that's why he is always positive. It's when Chris's ideals are challenged when he starts to spiral.
I legit don't like Chris. His character is hella funny, but I would hate knowing him. He's toxically positive, his relationship with Ann actively makes her a more insecure and anxious person, and despite the intensive therapy he underwent, Chris never changes for the better. I don't even understand why Ann decided to have a baby with him at the end, like he tells her early on that he has a blood disorder that very well could be passed down to their children. Chris sucks so much as a person, which is a real shame considering Rob Lowe is a lovely actor and does very well portraying him.
Fortunately they later explained that that was just their method, which they both agreed upon. Chris doesn't want to be mean, and Ben enjoyed larping as the bad cop.
@@unknown_limes nah i don't think Chris sucked. He became a lot less obsessive over time, and he was very sweet with Ann when they were planning for the baby. He reassured her that she'd be a great parent because she wants what's best for the kid despite their different parenting styles. Sure he never completely drops his extreme optimism and health obsession, but it gets better and he learns to listen to other people.
