    Great prognosis, testing, description of solution, etc! I repaired a Bose AWRCC 2 using this instructional (mine wouldn't play CD's any longer). If you've viewed this video and read the reviews, please reward this man (Youness) by making a contribution to his paypal account. This video saved me either throwing out the Bose unit or paying someone over $100 to repair it, assuming that I could've even found someone who was willing and capable of doing the repair. Much thanks Youness!

    I'm a forty year tech and these Bose units have been torturing me for years. Finally I've found someone who put me on the right path. I just started getting these things in at an alarming rate and now I can fix them. Thank you sir.

    You nailed it! My unit had the exact same caps found to be bad. I had the unit repaired in no time. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for this video. I repaired two of these radios, my own about a year ago, and my parents one just today. Used Nichicon solder trough type caps laying on their side with the legs creatively bent and trimmed to touch the surface mount pads

    Thanks your video showed me how to find the fault in the same area as yours under the metal RF shield. I replaced it with a new cap and my radio works once again. Its not the exact uF or voltage but its a 20V 10uf cap and it worked fine .. Another TH-cam video saved me some $$ and taught me something new .. Thank you sir!

    Thank you! I am a former Bose technician, but never worked on the Wave Radio. I have exactly the same radio that you fixed here which had a similar problem. It worked sometimes, but when I set the alarm, instead of the alarm turning on the radio, it would just reset the time to 12:00 am. I replaced the same capacitors (I happened to have similar SMD components and 30 years soldering experience), and now it works again!
    If not for this video I would have sold this radio on Ebay for parts. I would much rather keep it for another 15 years. Thanks again. I have made a donation and it was well worth it!

    I'm impressed by your symptom interpretation and subsequent diagnosis method. I was surprised how well it worked. Well done.

    That's amazing! Especially that method of testing the caps with a soldering iron! Ill look at my failed Bose radio now!

    YOU ARE TOPS! The BEST part about this video is when you call out 22uF 6Volt times two. Then you pull out an old 'donor board'! I was laughing my butt off! I thought I was the only one that did that Sanford stuff! You're the best! BTW the way mine needed just the cap on the left and I only had one. One guy did shotgun approach. But with these surface mount capacitors, I just didn't want to go that way, Bose not worth all that effort.

    Thank you for this interesting repair that contributes to further enrich our knowledge in electronics. I have a problem with a similar piece of equipment, the infrared receiver sensor broke down and I need to know what is the number of that component that can be used. Thank you.

      OK thank you. I ask him why I changed it for a new one and the fault still persists. What can be the cause of the problem? the remote control is working well and emits infrared light and there is voltage in the sensor in the Vs and Out pins of 4.80 V but the equipment does not turn on, it remains in standby (time) when connected to the electrical network, it does not obey remote control commands.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge! My II works fine except CD player keeps saying "disc not playable" Tried cleaning the laser.. Would that capacitor test work in my case also?

    Great job! I have a Wave Music System III. Brand new, everything works except it has no sound. Any idea on what may be wrong? I would send it to you but I'm in another country.

    Taking an ESR tester to the boards, you'll find every single capacitor failing. To replace one or two *is not* a fix, as other problems are on the horizon very soon. Next, it will be the output I.C. bad, along with more capacitors that caused it.

    What ?

  • @ohger1
    @ohger1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What a waste of time. Except for one or two of the 47uf caps and maybe the 100/16, ALL the surface mount capacitors in that radio need to be replaced. The ESR on all of them is either over 25 ohms or out of range.
