Rewriting the End Times - Lizardmen

  • The lizards have a pretty rough go of it in the original End Times, and even if we're not making their demise any less tragic, we are making it a bit more earned as we're ditching the original story of them being taken out by nothing more than Clan Pestilens and Ikit Claw's big bomb.

    Another good rewrite, especially the part with Teclis. His idea to focus on the Empire and kind of forget about the southern regions which are far less tainted by Chaos and can offer a backup bothers me. It looks a lot like a death spiral where you actually can't invest into anything but the frontline because it would collapse anyway and leave no time to build something else.
    Ikit being the one to bring down the moon... no, please. This is where "he's just mad" goes too far. How about this:
    >The Horned Rat decides to blow up the world just no not let other Chaos gods to get it. As in canon, grey seers begin to attract the moon with magic and advice to team up with Archaon, not knowing what their god had actually planned.
    > Ikit decides to be sane for once and remembers the disasters caused by much smaller warpstone meteors (one of them being the Great Maw). He comes to conclusion that the Horned Rat had betrayed her children because she is basically a scaven but god, so when the moon crashes, all other scaven would die, and the Horned Rat would get all the warpstone for herself.
    > Ikit secretly rededicates his strategic missile project from deleting cities to cracking the moon into survivable meteors. Mortskittar, Ikit's boss, learns about it. One of his spies sneaks into Ikit's lab and accidentally launches the nukes because skaven have no idea of safety.
    > The nukes detonate immediately, blowing up Skavenblight and entire Council of Thirteen. This halts the skaven advance in Tilea and Estalia, sending them into yet another civil war. And no, all of this is just a coincidence.
    > Meanwhile all the pestilence sect fights in Lustria, sent here by the grey seers specifically to prevent the lizardmen from stopping the moon.
    > They are defeated, the moon is cracked and crashed into some nowhere (at least for the lizardmen), but plays its part in the world's destruction (if it happens).

      Very good alternative, kinda spoilers for the skaven video but there will be another civil conflict there before they can somewhat get their act together. I think either work as they leave us with the same end result

    But where was tetto’eko? I feel like the only other lizardman to match the slaan in magical prowess would’ve played a much bigger part in the evacuation or maybe even staying behind to keep a barrier up long enough for them to escape? Idk still very good video tho

      @cryptghoul8408  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some lizards just didn't get a chance to be featured unfortunately. I would have loved to give time to everyone but at this point in the series I was going for a much more skimmed over approach to the rewrite. Tetto'eko definitely would have played a part in the defence and helped lead the new age of lizards

    The only thing I would change is that instead of Kroq gar it should have been Gor Rok and/or Chaqax who reamined with the first Toad, as to represent that unity they have in total war warhammer. Either that or Chaqax, as the last and greatest Temple Guard would fight till his final breath and protect Lord Kroak with everything he's got. Who Knows, maybe, just like Gotrek, they survive into AOS?

    • @cryptghoul8408
      @cryptghoul8408  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've had this take a few times about Kroq not necessarily being the best choice to stay behind, and I completely get the point of having Gor-Rok, Nakai, or Chaqax being the one to fight with the bony toad, but I was also trying to think about who could actually make enough of a dent in the daemon forces to allow for the lizards to escape, and few match Kroq-Gar in that category

    • @The_Last_OldOne
      @The_Last_OldOne 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @cryptghoul8408 As I said, Gor Rok and/or Chaqax. Gor Rok is practically unkillable, as for Chaqax, he is simply INSANE. He could easily beat the shit out of billions of greater daemons, and still be ready to murderfck anyone who'd dare come close to him or the slann he's guarding.

      @@The_Last_OldOne I did have Kroq Gar in the final battle originally, and we can always headcanon him there. In the initial write up, he was the one to take down Belakor and save Franz, but I just felt like I couldn't squeeze him in

    A bit sad to see the other great defender of itza, Nakai, not make it into this. I feel like him and Gor Rok would have been a better dynamic duo to hold the city til the last, while Krok-gar went off to lead his people into the stars as their greatest general.
    Regardless tho, good video, bette to see more than just clan pestilence being needed to bring down the Lizards

    • @cryptghoul8408
      @cryptghoul8408  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitely a good alternate version. I think I wanted Kroq and Kroak to go together, with Gor-Rok and Nakai heading to the stars to bring refreshed leadership to the lizards, rather than have the same faces be their leaders for another 10000 years

    Love it, but what about Nakai and Oxyotl?

    • @cryptghoul8408
      @cryptghoul8408  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oxyotl likely would've been leading guerrilla tactics against the daemons, probably the only reason they weren't overwhelmed for a good time as he knows how to fight them better than most. Made it onto the ships using his natural camouflage to sneak from the front. Nakai would've been like Gor-Rok, a solid defender to the last who made it onto the ships to lead a new gen of Kroxigors.

    • @deeperestmeme479
      @deeperestmeme479 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cryptghoul8408 that makes sense, though frankly I feel like the roles should be reversed. Nakai was an independent, old beast so to have him go back and leave rather than hold the line seems a bit off for him. Though I could imagine him meeting his end either fighting Kabundah or simply holding the line refusing to die until the world itself ended.
      However, Oxyotl is different. I’m not saying he’d leave on the ships no. But, when they take off I can see the chameleon skink sneaking into one of the rifts the demons flood in from. Pulling a Gotrek and surviving in the warp until he ends up in the Age of Sigmar.
      But those are just my thoughts

      @@deeperestmeme479 Love the idea for the chameleons. Like an anti-demon task force. I probably should've put more detail into Nakai as well, tried to keep it focused on the main leaders but i agree with your points

      @@cryptghoul8408 tbh Nakai like kroqgar has an oldone relic of his own the sacred blade of quetzl, maybe he also gets the kroqgar treatment to where he gets a oldone proc for being pinned down, plus Nakai is sorta akin to the green knight and grombridal basically the wandering guardian of the lizardmen, so i wouldnt be surprised if some how someway nakai was able to transcend or even make it to some of the ships but Nakai has always been vague.
      I like the idea for oxyotl to have not made it to the ships but instead him and a rag tad of chameleon skinks went back into the realms of chaos via warp or portal and continues his eternal guerilla warfare.

      @@fernyrespi8109 I probably should've put more time into Nakai. Even as he is comparable with Kroq-Gar's strength, I though it would be more fitting as a narrative to have the last defender being the last lizard down on the old world
