This, is her realest interview to date. She’s always quite private, I feel like this sit down allowed her to be honest, self aware, and comfortable. Watching her journey since the beginning has been remarkable. It’s only UP from here.
What a difference. Miss TS can't stand criticism and uses it for personal revenge and "karma". An immature and childish reaction. Dua says she doesn't take criticism as revenge. She listens, improves and proves with her work the opposite. A mature, healthy, positive and chill attitude. The maturity of someone of 28 and someone of 34. Dua's attitude is the best example for youngs not the attitude of the other singer that thousands of her little fans are sadly learning.
Seeing Dua getting emotional while talking about her music, her growth, the process and her maturity really touched me. Not only as a fan, but also in a personal way, I feel that I've also grown up with her and her songs, which were always there for me, always accompanied me during the journey, to cheer me up, but also made me feel a lot stronger and confident. I'm so proud of her and I really can't wait to hear the album... It feels like I'm about to receive a birthday present, even though it's not my birthday. Thank you so much, Dua. I really can't wait to see you (again), in Lisbon, this summer. ♥
she got the name radical optimism from a podcast she attended 4 years ago „are we on air“ episode 40 with dua lipa at minute 12-15. she even said she‘s gonna use that
Thanks so much for sharing this! Just finished listening to it now and it was really good. Great episode to understand what are Dua Lipa's musical influences and go-to songs. 😊🎧
I'm absolutely blown away at the level of maturity, insight, and depth Dua shows us in this interview. This is a whole other side of her I've never seen before, and it's amazing 🤯
After watching this interview, I'm even more excited for this album. I love how she took the criticism and made sure that she becomes one of the big names in the music industry. She's such a pop star and I can't wait to listen to this album.
I think that the general public has a huge misconception towards Dua Lipa. People believe she's one of those artists crafted by a record company. that she has no creative control or intelligence to write a song. This woman is a fukcing genius and we need to make sure the GP takes her more seriously because she REALLY DOES her music. SHE IS AWARE of the creative process and SHE REALLY MAKES decisions about her music. Go DUA!! can't wait for RADICAL OPTIMISM AT NIGHT !
Dua Lipa is with out a doubt one of the most extraordinary pop music artists in the world , there is always something unique about the songs she writes which has appeal from her early days all the way up til now where her creativity has exceeded todays trends in music ..
I was honestly really shocked & suprised when Dua Lipa blew up worldwide after the release of "New Rules". I'm so used to the Queens of dance pop coming from the United States. Very proud as a guy from the U.K that Dua a U.K artist is becoming the new Queen of pop for a whole new generation.
There have been plenty from the UK who've been perhaps underrated abroad, yet still legendary and highly influential to anyone paying attention. Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, Sade and Cathy Dennis are but a handful that quickly come to mind...
Great role model. You can see how much Glastonbury means to her, she almost couldn’t keep her emotions in. It’ll be a magical moment for her. It’s her Super Bowl.
Gosh 56 minutes to short...I could just talk and talk for hrs with her....mature intelligent woman ...exactly knowing what she wants...at the same time fun ...living life lightweight...being an inspiration for so many of us....goodluck on this new era....and let RADICAL OPTIMISM take the world...💖
Great interview. We got a lot more from it than from a lot of past interviews promoting the album, in which they basically just kept asking her the same questions and she kept giving the same answers. Here it looks like Zane really prepared and took the conversation to more unusual places
I absolutely love Zane's interviews, the way he just lets the person be open and vulnerable throughout the conversation.Interesting questions and viewpoints that also gives us food for thought.
The amount of thought and work that has gone into this is amazing. I’m sure the album will be amazing!!! I just hope people are able to recognise it and truly appreciate this work of art!!!
Brilliant conversation between two highly gifted and intelligent people. Zane's interviews are always great - this one is exceptional. I love that Dua takes ownership of her work and her catalogue. Also the attitude to online activity is healthy - showing the younger generation there is life beyond social media. That she writes her lyrics long hand in a notebook and does so many diverse things such as Service 95. 💖💖💖
Futute Nostalgia already felt so professional and grown up, but now, i can see that fn was a stage of maturing and radical optimism has dunked from that fountain!
I don't think Radical Optimism is her best album yet, but just because how awesome and polished Future Nostalgia was. Still that says a lot about how great she is as an artist
I love the maturity of this album. The song Maria, where she thanks the woman who helped shaped her partner. We tend to blame the past partners for damage but forget their impact that had a positive impact.
What a great interview. Zane asked all of the right questions to allow Dua to express herself as the amazingly inspirational person I think that she is.
god i hope dua’s glastonbury set is at least 120 minutes long. 45 mins for radical optimism 40 mins for future nostalgia 25 mins for dl1 and other singles/collabs 10 mins for crowd interaction/speeches. 2 hours for a potentially incredible headlining slot at the most important festival in the country.

Happy for You is just sooooo good. I cried everytime I listened to it this past month. Emotionally mature and deep and anyone in relationship where you can connect with the lyrics is just gut wrenchingly beautiful and emotional. Love love love this new Dua era
She speaks about Radical Optimism being about emotional maturity and finding the positive in anything no matter what is going on. But I think this is quite a short sighted and privileged understanding of life's challenges. I agree with her, that emotional maturity may improve the way in which you deal with a break up, changes in friendship groups, or overcoming challenges in life. But this idea of finding the positive in everything and "everything is meant to be" ignores the deeper, darker more challenging aspects of pain, grief and sorrow. Can you find the positive in losing a parent, sibling or child unexpectedly? Can you find the optimism in a childs terminal cancer diagnosis, or witnessing someone you love go through unbearable suffering. This level of pain cannot be met with a search for the positive or optimism, but rather an acknowledgement and eventual acceptance of the pain and heartache inherit in being alive. I find it hard to connect with people talking about overcoming pain and sorrow by finding the positive in everything, when sometimes it feels that they don't know the depths of pain people can experience, and a more so attempting to run away from the more difficult truths we may one day all face. God bless x
