Hi Zoe, Wow! That was informative! There is so much going on in your dojo and presumably worldwide. Such distinctions are lost on me. We are in rural a poverty area and usually buy the cheapest gi from Century Martial Arts. We have evaporative cooling in summer and a wood burning stove in the winter. Cheers, Terry.

Even we know Century gi! They used to be popular here a while back, but I think that's before the market was flooded. I believe they do the gi in Cobra Kai (gi being a strong word for what they wear lol)
I'm sure our viewers in Europe and East Asia are super spoiled for choice when it comes to gi - we're just lucky to have whatever gets shipped all the way here, or what we make ourselves.

Wow! In my day, late 70s to mid 80s in the UK, we had one gi! Ruckanor, tournament weight.

And arguably, that may have been karate's golden age! (which would make a great topic for a video, hmm 🤔) I'm sure you are most spoiled for choice now in the UK 😉

Very well explained and lots of details and information (high heels are missing but that's OK).

Haha! I'll do a livestream in heels for the lulz one day (or start selling feet pics so that I can travel to Okinawa every year)

Sorry they aren’t available in South Africa generally ,
Tokyodo, are good GI from what I saw when I went to their shop in 2008, similar to shureido,
      Never come across a shobu

Hi, I'd like to ask if you've tried the Meijin Tropical karate gi. How does it compare to the Shureido karate gi? I currently have one Shureido K10 dogi and I'm considering to get another one or invest in a Meijin tropical gi.

    • @GojuRyuKarateCentre

Ah, I wish I could answer this for you! I've never been able to get hold of a Meijin gi, but would absolutely love to try one. If you have bought it and worn it a few times, I would love to hear how it fitted, and if you would recommend it. The best part of our channel has always been the discussion in our comment section, so I hope someone else will find this useful too :)
