I feel like Splatoon 3 is being discussed A LOT more than Splatoon 2, which is odd since Splatoon 2 was also a fairly popular game. I'm now super interested to see what will the sales look like compared to each other 1-2 years down the line
If they do the card game as an app for smartphones with online battles im completely sold, I do think they could try to adapt it in physical cards, but might be a bit difficult, but maybe someday. Also a great spin off game is a rhythm game, there was already a mini game in Splatoon 2, which now I really miss, but with the amazing soundtrack the games have they can totally make a great Rhythm game
All those things mentioned are great ideas! I don't necessarily know if Splatoon TCG will work? But I mean they look pretty cool and look how far the Pokemon TCG has come A rhythm game would be amazing OR we can go one step farther and do DDR SPLATOON VERSION
Rock Band Splatoon. I would unironically shell out for it and learn the gibberish lyrics to do vocals. I mean I already learned the chorus to the Calamari Inkantation...
Personally I would love a splatoon spinoff that was single player and extremely lore/story based, with levels being directly connected instead of random challenges (so kind of like the final phases of OE/S3 story). Splatoon has one of my favorite fictional universes ever and I’d love to see it get expanded upon through something like that, though I’m not sure if there’d be much of a market for such a thing. I definitely think we could get a rhythm or music-based spinoff game though. The music is such an iconic part of the series and they’ve got a lot to pull from Great video btw! Pleasantly surprised to have this recommended to me ^^
I was thinking about it after I made this video and yea! having a spin-off based off the beginnings of Splatoon and really explore the lore and just through the sunken scrolls would be incredible, maybe it could feature captain cuttelfish? And thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
@@slippyy4252 Honestly switching/choosing between the two of them is a super cool idea. Hope we do get to learn more about the great turf war eventually
I'm so glad people appreacite the enthusium I put into these videos! And man I got such a HUGE boost in subs today so I feel pretty great right now thanks!
My feelings on it: The playerbase of the original game has aged and is now capable of buying the game on their own. Lots of new players from kids asking their parents and the aging playerbase getting their friends to get the game. A lot of people got the switch a few years in and were likely holding off until the third game launched like myself.
I think going forward splatoon will be officially seen as a key flagship series, splatoon is doing amazingly and it is attracting an even bigger fanbase
My favorite part is that, in Mario Kart 8 DELUXE, Splatoon gets representation alongside LoZ and Animal Crossing even BEFORE 3 was announced. I think you are NOT far off with these predictions. Like, the most surprising part to me would be if Splatoon DOESN'T pick up as a franchise larger than its mainline games. Then again, the mainline games ARE big, but that doesn't stop Pokemon, the literal RPG franchise. Another thing, Splatoon 3 got it's own direct. Nintendo DEFINITELY has plans.
man i feel like i'm watching the beginnings of like a big youtuber, like the first videos of- idk- jaymoji or sumn?? point is you are severely underrated-
I don't wanna get my hopes up but it's hard not to after seeing all of this positivity. Ima hope for the best and keep making great content nonetheless!
A would absolutely play a rhythm game, dance game or rockband-alike that was modeled off Splatoon. I also wouldn't turn down a old school Paper Mario/ Bug Fables style RPG spinoff. Gimmie a Jellyfish, Anemone and Salmonid companion and I'd be happy with that, no matter who the villain was or if we were rescuing the Zapfish for the 4th time. Oooh, actually, having a baby zapfish as a secret companion would also be fun.
A Splatoon skate game could be awesome. Tony hawks with splatoon, doing insane tricks, with powers, while covering the stage with ink... Hire me Nintendo.
splatoon skating/parkour game. splatoon as a series takes alot of design elements from skater culture so i think this would be a pretty good spin off game
It has 2 MANGA adaptions?? Literally had no clue! I guess that really goes to show how popular it is there compared to here. And thanks glad you enjoyed it!
Splatoon 3 sold out everywhere on Long Island NY first day, My dad drove 30 mins for it, got the last one, then was offered over 100 for it by another person, then it was announced that it was sold out

Thanks man! I always thought getting to 1000 subs would be more gradual but this video has truly done wonders and I couldn't be happier! Don't worry tho I'll try not to forget the OG's! (in the case I somehow do get famous lol)
A spin off prequel with Cap'n Cuttlefish as the protagonist when he was young adapting the Great Turf War, with a gameplay focused in the singleplayer campaign instead of the multiplayer would be really good
It's pretty cool to see Nintendo giving Splatoon it's own development department, meaning it's probably gonna get a decent bit of DLC and definitely a sequel awhile from now
6:11 There were several people out there that thought there was no reason for this game to exist, but with all of the QOL updates, the frankly better online multiplayer, the story mode that's miles better than the first two games, that takes quite a few pages from Octo Expansion (that's a GOOD thing. trust me), The better ranking system; And on top of all of that, they're promising even more updates in the future, so who knows what lies ahead?
yea, as much as we tend to shit off the game it was decently fun and it would've been neat to see another new original IP take off! Maybe a sequel can bring back the fanbase?

How do y’all feel about spin-off games? I honestly think this is a great new IP to do that with, especially considering how much more world building can be done with that. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable about that prospect is the IP being rapidly exhausted and the quality of the games suffering.
I think it goes both ways. Splatoon has become such a big series that's it's kinda stupid not to expand the universe and create spin-offs revolving around the series to make it an absolute UNIT as an IP. But as you said that could burn people out from the series like people feel about Kirby or Pokemon. Double edged sword I guess
I feel like you are overlooking the Testfire. It is always a huge display of confidence on the product when a company puts a demo out but this one was something else. It had a whole lot of content to try out. The installbase of the switch is huge now. People that were new or unsure simply got to try it out and returning players got to labbing inmediatly. On top of that, the fact that the demo was a Splatfest made it easy for new people to get invested into it quick and they did, the Twitter hashtag was full of drawings, clips and discussion over teams.
Splatoon 2 also had a testfire as well but yea, nowhere near the level of splat 3 AND the switch had a smaller install base. Thing is I always expected Splatoon 3 to do well but this.. is unprecedented y'know?
As far as spinoff games go, inklings are in smash and mario kart. So thats a good start. If Nintendo can just bring its online experience to the same level as other companies then splatoon will definitely be more mainstream. If it was multiplat, possibly bigger than cod imo.
God damn if Splatoon had better online OR was more involved competitively it could really be HUGE right now! But as it stands it's still very impressive that Splatoon has come so far. Idk how much bigger Splatoon would be with multiplat honestly? Like it could get a bit bigger but obviously Nintendo would never do that
@@theglasshalffull6958 while it would never happen, since its Nintendos biggest money maker of late, it would add at least a couple million per console and maybe more on pc. It could surpass 25 million in a year looking at its sales now if it was multiplat.
A Spin-off for Splatoon could be racing on the Reefslider (a new special introduced in 3) but they can be customised with a wide variety of patterns as well as being able to change other things in order to make the slider perform better. There could be both an offline and an online multiplayer aspect that takes advantage of split screen too
@@theglasshalffull6958 well... Salmon, Eggs, the bear radio, and the theme of Mr. Grizz is just TELLING us straight up. And Nintendo loves Plot twists. Not necessarily, but you can feel it. For 5 years they had the answer, but ignored it due to the fact that it seemed to just not be true since Nintendo go plot TWISTED CAUGHT IN 1080p and ya know... 5 HECKING YEARS JUST FOR IT TO BE SOMETHING SO SIMPLE. Potential spinoffs could include Spider squid Cooking Something like Hyrule warriors that takes place during the great turf war Dance Dance Revolution but with squids Woomy battle royale
I cant think of many ways to spin off splatoon beyond what has already been said, but it might not even need them as much as you'd think just because of how evergreen the games are. The audience does fall off as each entry gets older, but even then, you can always go back and play any entry you want up until they sever the online service. Then on a different front, it is maintaining its relevancy just by nature of cross overs. The inklings/octolings are so unique and expressive that they would fit into almost any roster. As you pointed out yourself, it is a VERY new IP for nintendo standards, yet it was instantly put into smash and mario kart, fitting both very well. If they wanted to, the inklings could easily fit into ANY mario spinoff game, with the only risk being diluting the mario IP. (Sunshine could be called beta splatoon, mario characters were one of the considerations for character models in early development, splatoon referenced sunshine very heavily as a tribute, and both have a heavy focus on mobility and platforming. After Alterna is splatoon's "champion's road". The fundamentals are the same, the difference is the ink gun.) If it did need spin offs, the obvious choices are a rhythm game as seen with squidbeats, but beyond the music, it might be a bit hard to bring in a splatoon aesthetic to go with it in a natural way. even within both 1 and 2, they were mostly just distractions; if it wasnt for the rest of the splatoon package, there wouldnt be much to identify it with. Or they could bring table turf battle to life, though that might not be as immediately feasible as it would appear (likely requiring a physical board as well as a significant amount of plastic game pieces to slot into the board). Said limitations also likely making it more difficult to play on a whim. Someone needs to bring the board and pieces, so it is not a simple "let me pull my deck out of my pocket so we can play" scenario (best case, someone has to pull out pen and paper to keep track of the board state).
There is a lot of ways Splatoon can be brought into many games and try out different genre's as well, I've been seeing a lot of comments about a Splatoon rhythm game of sorts which I think would totally fit in line since Splatoon is so music based as well. Besides that I trust Nintendo will bring side projects of Splatoon in a good way as it just feels like Splatoon can be so much more than it is currently
I’d love if some point in the future Splatoon had its first movie, like it could reimagine the first game, mashing together the online and story mode, like showing Agent 3 deciding on what out of the two original hairs to style. Or maybe introduce a new agent and have some returning characters. (Personally i just want to her Calimari Inkantation in the theatre)
I actually have a great idea for a Splatoon spin-off: We simply need an adventure game that can immerse us in that game's world. Not necessarily Breath of the Wild proportions, I'm thinking more along the lines of Doom 2016, in terms of level progression

Crazy how much can change it a couple years huh?
@@theglasshalffull6958 Yeah, 'cause like;
I never actually experienced neither Splatoon 2 nor Octo Expansion (bc i couldn't afford a 400€ to play it)
I know the whole story, but I don't think it is the same thing
So I basically just gone from Splatoon 1 on the Wii U, to Splatoon 3 on the Switch
Obs: Do think I should play Splatoon 2+ Octo Expansion
I would absolutely LOVE a splatoon anime, it already has a manga in Japan so it’s not too far-fetched. It would also really help its growth, just like it did for Pokémon
the manga is in the us too
Splatoon 3 had a huge advtange of anticipation from the competitive community. Everyone was waiting for it
I mean I knew people were excited but becoming the fastest selling game of all time? (In Japan) that a whole new level of excitement
Meanwhile everyone in my class thinks its a boring childrens game.
But they think fifa is good sooooooooo
Also the spanish names for almost everything in this game is amazing
Ay man there's nothing wrong for liking what's supposed to be a "kids" game :)
@@theglasshalffull6958 yeah. A kids game where all of humanity is extinct because of 5 world wars while the remaining inteligent species fight each other for survival.
You know, fun.
i've generally been seeing a lot more about splatoon 3 than i did with splatoon 2. i don't even follow any splatoon accounts and i consistently see memes about the game and clips posted by people. i literally didn't see anything from splatoon 2 without actively looking for it
I feel like Splatoon 3 is being discussed A LOT more than Splatoon 2, which is odd since Splatoon 2 was also a fairly popular game.
But I mean they look pretty cool and look how far the Pokemon TCG has come
A rhythm game would be amazing OR we can go one step farther and do DDR SPLATOON VERSION
The music is such an iconic part of the series and they’ve got a lot to pull from
Great video btw!

@@theglasshalffull6958 Wow congrats dude you really deserved all this attention and growth. Keep it up!
My feelings on it:
The playerbase of the original game has aged and is now capable of buying the game on their own.
Lots of new players from kids asking their parents and the aging playerbase getting their friends to get the game.
A lot of people got the switch a few years in and were likely holding off until the third game launched like myself.
Yea I can see where your coming from!
I think going forward splatoon will be officially seen as a key flagship series, splatoon is doing amazingly and it is attracting an even bigger fanbase
Yea who know's where it's gonna be in the next 5-10 years?
My favorite part is that, in Mario Kart 8 DELUXE, Splatoon gets representation alongside LoZ and Animal Crossing even BEFORE 3 was announced. I think you are NOT far off with these predictions. Like, the most surprising part to me would be if Splatoon DOESN'T pick up as a franchise larger than its mainline games. Then again, the mainline games ARE big, but that doesn't stop Pokemon, the literal RPG franchise. Another thing, Splatoon 3 got it's own direct. Nintendo DEFINITELY has plans.
The fact that Splatoon was included in MK8 and not something like Pokemon or Kirby is REALLY telling of how much faith Nintendo has on this series
Thought this video was from someone with like 5k subs. Bro what!? This is too good! Keep up the good work man!

Gimmie a Jellyfish, Anemone and Salmonid companion and I'd be happy with that, no matter who the villain was or if we were rescuing the Zapfish for the 4th time. Oooh, actually, having a baby zapfish as a secret companion would also be fun.

It's pretty cool to see Nintendo giving Splatoon it's own development department, meaning it's probably gonna get a decent bit of DLC and definitely a sequel awhile from now
Nintendo probably has a lot of faith in Splatoon and for good reason. Really hope they make good with it's future!
Splatoon 3 is no doubt an update from the past 2 games, I’m just interested to see where the series goes next
It was very sad to see ARMS die. Was trying to be competitive, keep the game running, but no..

They put more effort into splatoon 3 cutscenes than in pokemons last 4 games combined
I-i liked Pokemon SWSH and legends arceus.. but I can see where your coming from
A Spin-off for Splatoon could be racing on the Reefslider (a new special introduced in 3) but they can be customised with a wide variety of patterns as well as being able to change other things in order to make the slider perform better. There could be both an offline and an online multiplayer aspect that takes advantage of split screen too
So like a Splatoon version of Mario kart?
Fun Fact: The Splatoon lore lovers (ehem... Rassicas) got angry about Mr. Grizz being so obviously a bear.
why would they be mad?? I thought it was such a great (and funny) plot twist lol
@@theglasshalffull6958 well... Salmon, Eggs, the bear radio, and the theme of Mr. Grizz is just TELLING us straight up. And Nintendo loves Plot twists. So since it was so obvious, a lot of people thought it wouldn't be a bear. And not to offend them, but Rassicas was like- at that point seemingly crying like a child. If it is better than mario expect Major Splatoon events bigger than mario yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
This thumbnail and title are really good for getting clicks, try to make more like them
I cant think of many ways to spin off splatoon beyond what has already been said, but it might not even need them as much as you'd think just because of how evergreen the games are.
The fundamentals are the same, the difference is the ink gun.)
If it did need spin offs, the obvious choices are a rhythm game as seen with squidbeats, but beyond the music, it might be a bit hard to bring in a splatoon aesthetic to go with it in a natural way. even within both 1 and 2, they were mostly just distractions; if it wasnt for the rest of the splatoon package, there wouldnt be much to identify it with.
If done right.. a splatoon movie would be absolutely amazing to see

I actually have a great idea for a Splatoon spin-off: We simply need an adventure game that can immerse us in that game's world. Not necessarily Breath of the Wild proportions, I'm thinking more along the lines of Doom 2016, in terms of level progression
