thank you sososossoso much it took me so many hours trying to resolve this. Im a newbie to 3d stuff and just wanted to make my own vr avatar.. you saved me so much headache.. heres a subscribe dude
Hey there, I've actually got an interesting problem that I haven''t seen covered yet where multiple materials use the same texture and when combined it copies and repeats the texture image into the atlas for each material, I'm not sure if there's a way to avoid this, but putting the texture image that worked originally now longer fits it properly and I'm not really sure what I need to do to fix this problem. (I'm learning Blender, so help would be appreciated)
Ok now this is great and all, aside from making the textures a lower resolution when it comes to detail, but, how about the other textures, like normals, srma textures, roughness, how does this combine all those as well? Because it resizes every texture in itself as well, so do we have to make all those other textures ourselves?
Hi, I tried the methods in the video and still have issue with 3 textures that do not show up in the preview. They disappear when I attempt to combine them with any other textures.
hello and I got a problem about this plugin When I click "save atlas to...", the program select every material automatically, all of the materials will combine at one time I am using blender 3.3.0 by the way
1:09 - you can put the textures with transparency on layer 2 and then its seperated. Also there is not a really easy way that i'd know of to make it properly cover all the spaces - would need to atlas it manually to do that
Just so that I understand, the body is only one mesh, and you added 5 different materials to this mesh? Is it also possible if I have different meshes with each it's own material? Oh, maybe if I Join those meshes together, I would have one mesh with different textures, right?! and then I could make a texture atlas. But what to do with the UV mapping? Don't they get overlap by each other?
Well I just dowloaded it, and now I see I have the same thing as in the video above. The only thing I don't know is it really helps me with my probleem..... I had this idea that atlas texture should help reduce the size of my file in MB. But if I join 3 meshes with the 3 different textures together, and make an atlas texture, it's bigger than my 3 texture separated. I already was able to bring back my 3 textures to 100KB each. Joining them together in an atlas texture makes it 2MB....
In this video i was using Blender 3.4.1, but usually i work with Blender 2.92. It really doesn't matter and should be basically the same as long as it is above 2.8. Most of the assets that i've used originally were from MMD, so format .pmx. But once its in Blender it doesnt really matter, its just mesh data n stuff.
@@Airbee I posted here the problem, but youtube propably see it as spam. Check the comments to "review" (Sorry I don't know how it's called in english)
Does this thing seem really buggy? Now it just changes everything to a single material so that everything looks the same, I have no idea why. Changing the material type fixed it for whatever reason. However in Unity the first try looks all washed out and this second try clearly has textures of certain material slots. This really isn't reliable and I think I'll just unwrap the whole mash and draw the texture myself since it's easy for this model.
fianlly, i've been spending HOURS trying to figure this out. THANK YOU
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I looked everywhere for how to fix the missing textures after combining them and this solved it!
Exactly what I needed! Thanks for the great tut!

I'm having this same issue! I hope I can find a fix for it soon!
Omg thank you I was having issues because my materials where not set up correctly!
Glad it works now :D
When I try to do this the Atlas is only the models normal map instead of the diffuse textures
then remove the normal maps from the material i guess? tbh i've never atlassed something with a normal map
@@Airbee erm actually I already tried that ☝️🤓
I dont get the ability to save my file somewhere. It just apply a texture to all of the selected areas
Did you figure this out? having the same problem

is there any video converting it 2k?
any tips for fixing a python error when trying to combine?
i wouldnt be aware of anything - what does the error say? maybe its a wrong blender/addon version
The surface for all my materials is set to "CATS Export Shader" and it won't let me change it >
Are you in Object Mode? i think it doesnt work when in edit mode

my 32px problem is not solving even though i put that bsdf shader , image texture correctly , can you help brother
Try making a completely new material, assign all the vertices from old material to the new material, and give that new material the texture maybe

the fact i searched for this cuz of the lpd custom avis is hilarious
@@FriskTheSmolOne Oh really, this video comes up then? xD
@@Airbee yes Lol
HOLY SHIT I MANAGED TO ATLAS TYSM

Now that i have dowloaded it, and install as an add-on, on the side menu (n) it is asking me to dowload pillow? What is pillow?

@@Airbee Gracias
Mine just turns into a jumbled soup with all the textures wrong.
Never had that to be honest. Do you maybe have multiple meshes who have different named UVMaps?
it doesnt show up, and doesnt install
It worked 3 times and after that I have some problems with phyton :
What problems?

can release the model
will this work for 4.2
no idea, just give it a try :D
@@Airbee turns out it works
so question are you planning to do a part 2
like how to deal with the free space problem
any advice
@@chaosmachines934 i plan to make part 2, but its already been a plan for like 2 years :') So not sure when i'll get to it

Nope, not yet :/
@@Airbee Its alright, looks like just joining all of the meshes & unwrapping that way works just fine
