I appreciate all your video's! Thank you for sharing them. My biggest problem is communication with ATC, or rather, fear of it. I avoid it if possible. Watching your video's help me learn what to expect. Thank you very much!!
Your videos are awesome. I haven't flown in many many years and had already forgotten about IFR but your videos rekindled my interest in aviation again, I especially liked the 182 at flight levels and the approaches in the citation. Thanks your videos are fun to watch.
Hi Guido ! Your videos are like Bordeaux wines, they are even better with time ! Once again I've learned a lot watching your footage. Take care and fly safe.
As always, great video. Fantastic explanation on all the intricacies of the flight. This is a perfect video for someone like myself working on my IFR. I'm sure these videos are allot of work to edit. Thanks for taking the time, and please keep it up!
Thank you very much, Jeffrey! Yes, it is a lot of editing work. But as long as the aviation community likes my videos - it is time well spent. Happy Landings, Guido PS: good luck for your IFR. A good decision!
Thank you Guido, that makes sense! I asked about passengers because you mentioned how heavy you guys were a couple of times. I'm thinking now you were referring to fuel?? Keep the videos coming ! Love to watch them!!
Thank George. With full fuel tanks we can fill half the number of passenger seats. This seams to be a standard rule of thumb for all business jets and small twin engine aircraft. We can take 4 passengers with full tanks, If all seats are filled (8), we have to reduce fuel load respectively. Happy Landings, Guido

Answer to the question "why are the hands not on the throttles during take off and climb out"? In a jet we use a different system compared to single engine aircraft. Up the the decision speed on take off (V1) the hands are on he throttles to pull back in the event of a malfunction. Beyond that speed, there would be not enough runway available to stop on the ground. So the hands go off the throttles to overcome the temptation to still want to "pull back" at a too high speed. To avoid the throttles from creeping back (the reason why some flight instructors tech to keep the hand on the throttle), there is a friction lock. Happy Landings, Guido
My old company taught hands-off at V1, but right back on once airborne. We did a LOT of reduced thrust takeoffs and in the event of an engine failure, you could quickly add thrust if desired/required. Plus, in GENERAL, we were also taught that being the PF meant one hand on the controls, feet on the rudders, and the other hand on the throttles. Technique.

I love your videos! I am in flight school right now and my end goal is a citation. Didn't know what I wanted to do with my career until I watched a citation take off and climb out while I was holding short of the active. I knew right then and there what I was going to do! Your videos are part of my inspiration. Thank you!
Thank you for your incredible videos! As a private pilot working on my instrument rating, these videos are incredible learning tools. Would love to fly jets like you do one day! Thanks again!
+Ryan Collins You are very welcome, Ryan! Great decision to start your instrument rating. It will make you a better pilot. Once you start using it, it will also make much more sense, it's all much easier than during your training. Happy Landings, Guido
This jet almost flies itself.. Hopefully the next video will show the instrument gauges better. Other than that, nice IFR flying all the way around and it's always nice to get near the ground to switch over to VFR for final approach landing. Good job.
Only my pleasure! Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings, Guido PS: although I understand and respect the anonymity of the web, I would appreciate if you could write your comment with your clear name - it's just more personal. Thank you!
The sophistication of GPS/instrumentation certainly has changed the RNAV approach. Used to call them them the "two needle approaches". Taking an aircraft to minimums on an RNAV approach was definitely not for the faint of heart. Another fine video. Thank you for posting.
Thank you! Precision of RNAV approaches is going up a lot. New aircraft fly LPV (localizer performance with vertical guidance) on the GPS and that brings you down to minimums of 250 ft! I have done these and it is just amazing. You have to trust in technology though. I see the ILS installation go away from the regional airports very soon as these are very expensive to maintain. More and more backyard airports get a GPS approach. Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings, Guido
Guido, been watching you awhile, just want to say I enjoy your focus and talent as a professional pilot. Your videos help me be a better pilot thru your continued example. Tell Mike he needs to wash his shoulder boards. LOL Thanks from South West Florida.
Good to see Mike again. I have not seen him for a bit. You both work well together. A great team. Mutual respect. Such a big fan of you personally, and professionally.
Hope you get through with your instrument training soon! The real instrument flying is much more fun and also less complicated... Happy Landings, Guido
MrAviation101, you have definitely proven how small the aviation community is lol I love seen the youtube famous pilots converging and sharing ideas while also helping each other out and giving good pointers on things. That is real cool and I love the videos by both you and Guido Warnecke! totally awesome guys!!!
Thank you again for such an amazing video. Just when I made my first hours on a complex plane (Piper 28R-200) and started to think that my little buddy is fast I see this video of 250 KIAS! Speed and deep profesionalism have met on board (not only today) again... Happy landings!
Thank you very much, Petr. The only real concern I have with high speeds at low altitude is the increased risk of a bird strike. Thanks for being such a loyal viewer of my videos & happy landings, Guido
We just have to be really careful in low altitudes, flock of birds tend to appear from nowhere. It´s my pleasure to watch, thank you for them and happy landings!
Hello Guido, just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. I find them very informative and educational. I have my Instrument check ride on the June 10, then it's on to my Commercial rating. I hope I can be as professional a pilot as you are one day. Thanks again. Jose G.
The high resolution photo you sent me of 365EA is in my office. Occasionally, clients ask me about it and I tell them about your channel. Another excellent post. Thank you!
Really liked this one, strange that I haven't seen it before. Really love the vids with Cpt Bullard, he seems like a nice guy and a great pilot. Hope to see some videos in the future but no rush :) Have a good day Guido and keep up the good work!
Once again, another great video! Love watching the Citation videos, especially when you and Mike fly together since there's some fun in the cockpit sometimes. Can't wait for more!
Love your videos, thanks for posting. Wish there were more. If I wasn't in the music industry, I would hope to be doing your job. Safe travels and thanks again. Cheers!
Thank you, Tommy. The flight was through the new York metropolitan area which is quite busy. There are three major airports; Kennedy, Newark and La Guardia plus the business airports White pains and Teterboro. A lot of departing and arriving traffic. Happy Landings, Guido
Hello Guido, awesome video! I´m currently working on my instrument rating and this just got me all pumped up! Just being able to fly on clouds without visual reference is a good challenge. Thanks for your videos, they do keep the dream alive!. Happy flying and cheers from El Salvador! (ICAO: MSSS)
Thank you! I am currently uploading a new video (a flight from Iceland to Greenland), edited with a new software and containing much more features. I hope it elevates it to the next level. Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings, Guido
Guido Warnecke You know, that's funny. I always enjoy a cup of coffee with a hint of cream while watching anything aviation related. Cannot exactly recall why. Pilots really do like their coffee. Watch out, if that coffee is not brewing, you got one angry beast on your hands! It's customary for me to always have a piping hot cup of coffee before I go flying! Safe flying, Michael Vincent
Mr. Warnecke, I have enjoyed watching a few of your videos. You come off very professional and competent in aviation. Your videos make me thirst to climb back in the cockpit and keep flying to ultimately achieve my dream of flying for a career. Cheers and fair tailwinds!
Another great video thanks for sharing.....my first choice when I switch on my pc to see if there is anything new from Guido. Greetings from the island of Malta
I love the cockpit view. The instrument panel looks pretty sophisticated, but awesome and fancy! I would love to be able to either fly or be a passenger on this type of plane. To be honest, I wouldn't mind sitting next to the pilot during flight to get the ultimate full experience!
As a non-pilot, my heart rate always rises slightly when watching landings, even when watching such a maestro as you, Guido. What about you, with all your years of flying - does your heart go just that little bit faster at takeoffs/landings? Thanks as always for your excellent videos!
Thank you very much! I am only focused during tasks in the cockpit - not scared. So the heart rate should be quite normal... Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings, Guido PS: you are a non-pilot. May be you want to start your pilot's license? Go to an airport, they offer very inexpensive introduction flights. You will be with a flight instructor, but you sit left seat on the controls.
Guido Warnecke I'm sorry for the misunderstanding Captain. My observation is that you handle all of your flights to FAR 121 standards. Strictly business. Outstanding Sir. Your professionalism is impeccable.
tim mills Thank you, Tim. My understanding is that the part 135 standards are in some aspects even more strict than part 135. Part 135 is on demand charter, airplanes go to a lot of different airports, with much less infrastructure etc. So it looks like the FAA "does not trust" the part 135 guys and imposes strong rules. Happy Landings, Guido
Guido Warnecke Totally understand Captain. Flying part 121 all the time can be quite boring. You bid your trip & fly the same city pairs for a month (or whatever the length of the bid-period). The same airports, crew members, hotels, food...for the entire month regardless if the crew members like each other! I'm sure you are familiar with the routine. Flying 135, you never know what is going to happen (to a certain degree). That in and of itself is exciting! Thanks again Captain.
Thank you! All the best for you IFR training. Once you are over the first hours and understand what is going on you will start to enjoy it. It's much easier than you might think. Happy Landings, Guido
I agree. IFR is nerve-wracking at first but it soon becomes fun. You have to stay ahead of the airplane at all times, of course, as the video shows. But there's nothing like busting out of the clouds and seeing that beautiful runway waiting for you!.
First of all a lot of thanks for videos like this, expecially from this site, (let me say so) any way, I'll see these sort of very interesting video!!. It's first time seeing this kind video, that make me remembering my past time... (I'm 70's over), then a lot of greeting to Capt. G.W., and All the Athers. P.S.(Please excuse for my English.)
Thank you Steve! More videos are already in the works. With regard to offset the camera, this has some technical limitation. Typically there is a huge difference in light in the cockpit (dark) and outside (very bright). I am trying to optimize this with the video processioning. Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings, Guido
Great. Love the editing with more fill light to the dash. I assume the up and down after landing was due to the heavy weight?? It's nice to see all of your flights like this and finishing up my own instrument training.
Thank you very much, Michael! The runway at KBLM has a pronounced "hump" in the middle. It is to an extent that you can't the the end of the runway during take off. Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings, Guido
Awesome video! The HDR effect works really well to keep the panel and view exposed. I assume it is a post filter or something? Do you mind sharing how you do that? thanks.
Steve, did he ever share with you how he achieved this? I noticed that it was a seemingly impossible dual exposure but couldn't quite figure out how it was done.
Commander Guido beautiful flight and thanks to TH-cam we can share with and then feel if we were holding camera behind you. Feeling of being in flight, sorry I do not speak English but can understand some things. Note: This text was translated by google tardutor.
I really like your videos, they're very helpfull. Wanted to be a pilot since I was 6 or so, now I'm 15 and if. I get good grades my parents will sign me up for it! Thank you
Thank you, Robin! I wish you all the best for your flight training and your flying career. Work hard, be professional - and you will have a lot of fun. Happy landings, Guido
I thought about that,.; The problem I see is that the shutter speed must not only be lowered, it has to be synchronized with the frame refresh rate of the CRT screens. No idea how to do that. I will check this out on one of the next videos. Happy Landings, Guido
Ohhh good point! I know if you get a dark enough filter, you can lower the speed enough to where syncing wont matter. I'm sure those screens are 60Hz? So if you get your shutter speed down to below 1/60th, that outta do. But anyways, great videos!
Great video, Thanks. I did see one gotcha though. The PM in his zeal to give the pilot report that the controller asked him to provide actually set himself up for a bust. He reported breaking out at 700 feet and then cancelled his IFR clearance while still technically in IMC conditions (700 ft ceiling). Silly technicality but I've read about pilots getting busted on this.
Hi Joe, you have a good point here. This was class G airspace and day time, so it is only 1 mile visibility and clear of clouds required. If it is sensible to cancel IFR - this is up for a professional debate. Happy Landings in 2015, Guido
Thanks for showing your aircraft at the end! Very nice...however, that brings to mind something; Curious if this is an older aircraft with older avionics - and could you today, order this aircraft with a modernized avionics package that would allow single pilot operation? (thinking Beech Premier). Thanks and nice flying!
Hi Mike, older aircraft with more modern avionics are much easier to operate compared to newer ones. Here my newest video: @R8bg Happy Landings, Guido

I love your videos! I am in flight school right now and my end goal is a citation. Didn't know what I wanted to do with my career until I watched a citation take off and climb out while I was holding short of the active. I knew right then and there what I was going to do! Your videos are part of my inspiration. Thank you!
You re very welcome!
Set the goals high in your flying career.
All the best for your training. Please keep me posted.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido

This jet almost flies itself.. Hopefully the next video will show the instrument gauges better. Other than that, nice IFR flying all the way around and it's always nice to get near the ground to switch over to VFR for final approach landing. Good job.
Thank you very much, Robert.
I will switch to a better GoPro camera shortly and also have better video editing software now.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Wow...that was incredibly fascinating not to mention informative. Thanks as always for sharing sir..!

Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido

Another great one. Though I'm in a 172 and you're in a Citation, these really help me with my instrument training.
Hope you get through with your instrument training soon!
The real instrument flying is much more fun and also less complicated...
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido Warnecke I have always thought so, but most say visual is much easier...
Stop popping up on every aviation video I watch, Josh! MrAviation101
Marcelo Delima Real life IFR is easier. That said, once I got my commercial I enjoyed VFR more then before. On trips I always opt for IFR.

Thanks for being such a loyal viewer of my videos & happy landings,

We just have to be really careful in low altitudes, flock of birds tend to appear from nowhere.

Thank you, Glenn!
Hope you enjoy your cup of coffee with it...
Happy Landings,

Guido Warnecke You know, that's funny. I always enjoy a cup of coffee with a hint of cream while watching anything aviation related. Cannot exactly recall why. Pilots really do like their coffee.
Watch out, if that coffee is not brewing, you got one angry beast on your hands!
It's customary for me to always have a piping hot cup of coffee before I go flying!
Safe flying,
Michael Vincent

I love the cockpit view. The instrument panel looks pretty sophisticated, but awesome and fancy! I would love to be able to either fly or be a passenger on this type of plane. To be honest, I wouldn't mind sitting next to the pilot during flight to get the ultimate full experience!
Thank you very much, Ken.
The cockpit is rather "old fashioned", the aircraft is built in the 1990's.
Happy Landings,
Guido

As a non-pilot, my heart rate always rises slightly when watching landings, even when watching such a maestro as you, Guido. What about you, with all your years of flying - does your heart go just that little bit faster at takeoffs/landings? Thanks as always for your excellent videos!
Thank you very much!
I am only focused during tasks in the cockpit - not scared.
So the heart rate should be quite normal...
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
PS: you are a non-pilot. May be you want to start your pilot's license? Go to an airport, they offer very inexpensive introduction flights. You will be with a flight instructor, but you sit left seat on the controls.
Another awesome display of FAR 121 level CRM Captain. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much, Tim.
This flight was actually under pat 135.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido Warnecke
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding Captain.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido Warnecke
Totally understand Captain.

Such a professional cockpit, and that's important in solid IMC. Heck, it's important anyway. I'm gonna start my IFR training next week!
Thank you!
All the best for you IFR training. Once you are over the first hours and understand what is going on you will start to enjoy it. It's much easier than you might think.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I agree. IFR is nerve-wracking at first but it soon becomes fun. You have to stay ahead of the airplane at all times, of course, as the video shows. But there's nothing like busting out of the clouds and seeing that beautiful runway waiting for you!.
Great video. Excellent cockpit teamwork.

Awesome, as always! Keep them coming! Can you possibly offset camera so we can see the runway?
Thank you Steve!
More videos are already in the works.
With regard to offset the camera, this has some technical limitation. Typically there is a huge difference in light in the cockpit (dark) and outside (very bright).
I am trying to optimize this with the video processioning.

Nothing short of outstanding again Mr. Warnecke!
Thank you very much, Noel!

Happy landings,
Guido
Have you ever though of getting an ND filter for the GoPro? It'd lower the shutter speed of the GoPro so you can see the Display Screens!
I thought about that,.;
The problem I see is that the shutter speed must not only be lowered, it has to be synchronized with the frame refresh rate of the CRT screens. No idea how to do that.
I will check this out on one of the next videos.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Ohhh good point! I know if you get a dark enough filter, you can lower the speed enough to where syncing wont matter. I'm sure those screens are 60Hz? So if you get your shutter speed down to below 1/60th, that outta do. But anyways, great videos!
Love you videos. Living my pilot dreams through you. :)
Thank you very much, Jimmy!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Exhilarating! Watching these videos makes me wish I was a pilot. Greetings from San Francisco.
Thanks Louis!
Greetings to SF and happy landings in 2015,
Guido
Great video, Thanks. I did see one gotcha though. The PM in his zeal to give the pilot report that the controller asked him to provide actually set himself up for a bust. He reported breaking out at 700 feet and then cancelled his IFR clearance while still technically in IMC conditions (700 ft ceiling). Silly technicality but I've read about pilots getting busted on this.
Hi Joe,
you have a good point here. This was class G airspace and day time, so it is only 1 mile visibility and clear of clouds required.
If it is sensible to cancel IFR - this is up for a professional debate.
Happy Landings in 2015,
Guido
I would fly with you guys, anytime! Super polished, efficient, and professional.
Thank you very much, Dan!

Hi Mike,
older aircraft with more modern avionics are much easier to operate compared to newer ones.
