I wouldn't say the "downgrade" is why there are people saying Gear went woke. That does come from the queer aspects of it. There's still people trying to insist Bridget isn't trans. While it's not queer specifically, I've seen somebody try to insist that Venom isn't black, for what that's worth. Also, this is coming from somebody who prefers the older Guilty Gears to Strive.
