It's pretty hard to beat the beach session in weather like that! That looked like a lot of fun. Now let's just clear something up. Yes, I am proud of you for keeping that bream, it shows your maturing :) but I will have to ask for a retraction on them being the Phantoms favourite! Good grief. Nice vid though.
Nice outing Sammy . Thanks for taking us along again . Great eats at the end with the fresh 🐟 . You're a good mate . Cheers to you and yours my friend .
Try the 'Japanese vacuum seal' trick by putting the bag in water up to the ziploc, then shutting it once the air as been pushed out by the water pressure. Pretty nifty trick 38:05
WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA…. G’day Legend, Part 1 / Part 2…. I got to admit I was really impressed with the technique and the size of pulling worms. A Shore edition was welcomed too as it brung varsity. Thank you once again for adventures. Chris from Crete
Those winter bream on the beach there sweet rap them on foil with chilli garlic ginger so pepper and salt and some cubes of butter, bake them for half hour and there beautiful
Great vid Sammy! I got about 1/2 way through it and packed up and went to the beach. Found a small gutter and caught a few whiting around 35-36cm. You inspired me. Thanks!
What a beautiful little rod setup. I have an estuary setup that's 7ft ultra light with a casting weight of 4g - 14g with a little 3000 stradic. That has fast become my fave stick, I now find myself on the beach and/or rocks catching elf with it too and I have to say, a decent 2kilo elf on 6lb line is the real deal and loads of fun. (you fella's call an elf a tailor)
Was going to head down to the coast for red tail surf perch today. Then I checked the marine forecast and drank beer instead. 7ft swell and a 30knt wind said no. Can fish vicariously through you this weekend I guess. Those worms are horrifying. Glad I can just pick sand crabs. Way less horrifying. Being Oz, I'm sorta surprised they don't bite. lol
Yeah those conditions sound horrible! Glad I could help scratch the itch a bit instead! Haha the worms do bite a little if you let them, they don’t have big pincers though 👍
I reckon I was fishing that same day up on the Sunshine Coast!! Very cool to see that low pass flyby by the RAAF. Scared the crap outta my daughter though haha
Great stuff bru..just a small suggestion with all due respect I think it wud have been preferable to cut fish in have that way more wud have fit in pot and little more frying consistency submerged within pot❤❤❤❤Thanks again bru for this lovely content of sharing the technique and recipe ❤❤❤
@sammy, you can avoid a lot of the troubles by using the sand to compress the worm. especially if you get stuck on a pull just grab a handful of sand around the worm nice and tight and pull the sand up with the worm.
Nice one Sammy! can you possibly share a link on the little jigs you were using? and how did you bait the hook? Couldn't quite figure it out but seemed to work amazingly well! Love the beach fishing content too...you do it the best!
Hey mate, it’s called a micro meat, the hook is just a standard long shank hook. You just thread the worm on as you normally would 👍👍 Appreciate the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it 🍻🍻
Sometimes I see them when fishing near the bombing practice range - if you watch the jets do their turns and runs and forget the rods you catch more fish 🙂
Haha had F35s going over on the weekend for the local air show! Was fishing on the beach years ago and two Hercules flew over from the west, couldn't hear them at first. New undies time lol
Nice, whiting are awesome. I wonder why once you get north of Bundaberg these fish, well most fish disappear. Is it the shit water quality, lack of bait/biomass, too much mud, or just naturally a shit area?
@@SammyHitzkeFishing I think it's the right way to go about preparing our fish Il just thought someone had complained as I'm not seeing much of it happening anymore on other uploads , not sure about TV itself? In any case you're doing a great job 😉
This maybe an obvious question but why do most people + videos etc recommend using low tide to fish for whiting ? Is there a science or technique thats different for high tide?
A reel that's made of Helium, obviuosly all my gear is way too heavy. Nice show Sammy, thanks for the effort. I just bought a new ute and you made that look like a lot of fun, so I might have to bight the bullet and take a trip, what's a ticket on the barge worth these days?

Hey mate, no idea sorry. Somehow education on how to correctly process your food has fallen into the animal cruelty and graphic content category. A real Shame because I like showing people how to look after their catch! But, seems to be the way the worlds going isn’t it!
@SammyHitzkeFishing We'll you'll have to do your best with words. It really is a shame considering some of the waste of internet content that does turn up...and hopefully you'll at least be able to show tips for filleting so we don't waste our catch🍻

Hahah yeahhh even I impress myself sometimes 🤣🤣
Scrambled the jets to get a visual on those whiting and make sure they were legal size

Yeah mate, beach bream are far superior to an estuary bream! 👌👌 recipe sounds the goods as well 🤤🤤
Agreed if you hate bream you ain’t caught one bleed it and had it for breaky.

Great vid sammy , just a tip on worms , try pulling them out side ways they come out alot easier than trying to pull them up vertical

What rig are you using to throw out the worms? Still new to saltwater fishing so im tryna learn.
Just a little micro meat rig mate, great for the run and fun style 👌
@@SammyHitzkeFishing Thanks mate! When you cast it out do you then just leave it and wait for a bite or get some action going on it?
I usually slow wind them in while I’m doing the gutter hopping style of fishing 👌

Never a Day wasted
That’s it! Were pretty lucky!
Awesome stuff Sammy, fantastic content well done. nice feed too.👌👌 Cheers Bonza
Thanks Pete! Appreciate it mate 🍻🍻
I’m stealing your “getting the nibs” line - “Hey mate, are you getting the nibs?” Yeah - getting good nibs.
@sammy, you can avoid a lot of the troubles by using the sand to compress the worm. especially if you get stuck on a pull just grab a handful of sand around the worm nice and tight and pull the sand up with the worm.
Hey mate, is this to prevent them snapping or to grip them better?
Great Catch !!....we did to go out on our boat.....nothing deep but did get a good feed of sand whiting n a good size squid ♥♥
Well you can’t complain about that! Both great chewing!! 👌👌
big windy out there
Great work again in the surf Sammy! Just wondering how you sharpen your cutlery ? Any special method or device you use?
Hey mate, just with a honing steel before I start cutting. Then every so often we reprofile the edge on the knife grinder 👍
Rpic stuff, Thanks Sammy!
🙌🙌 appreciate it mate!
@@SammyHitzkeFishing Would probably help if I checked my spelling ha ha. Epic Stuff. Really enjoyed it. Cheers.
Gotta love a few whiting
Best beach feed going round 👌👌
@@SammyHitzkeFishing might have to pack the 3yo up and see if he can catch us some, he catches everything else we try for
Beach fishing is the best. You might entertain the idea of Drone fishing off the beach. 👍👊
Don’t worry drone fishing is on the list! Just waiting for the perfect conditions to give it a try 👌👌
First time watching you mate, very impressive, one question why do you call a Bream a Brim is it the same species? Good luck tight lines from England.

why not butterfly fillet the whiting?
fun video - love your enthusiasm.
yeaaahhhh

Hi Samy l love your work I'll be up your way in a few weeks I hope to get in some beach fishing while I there 😅
Nice one mate! They’ll be waiting for you 🍻🍻
Nice Video, those jets were FA/18 Super Hornets from RAAF Base Amberley
Sometimes I see them when fishing near the bombing practice range - if you watch the jets do their turns and runs and forget the rods you catch more fish 🙂
Cheers mate. Bloody cool seeing them hoot past!
Another great video,
Thanks mate! Cheers for watching 🍻🍻
What size lead are you using mate?
Awesome explanation Sammy enjoyed the flyby. And are the rumours true that you have been signed up to light the flame for the Queensland Olympics 😂😂
Hahah unfortunately they’re definitely not true but how cool would that have been! 👌🤣🤣

still possible to catch these bad boys on the sunshine coast beaches or have they all moved on for winter?

Take the bag and sumerge to close
Field effect vac seal

@Sammy Hitzke Are you fishing on the beach at K'gari?
Hey mate, no straddie 👍
I'm impressed that 50 years ago I was catching these same fish with a $30 rod n reel kit from Target with my old man...
That’s awesome mate! Bet it was just as good fun back then 👌👌
Really good episode Sammy. I'm curious , has someone said something about brain spiking on TV now??

Time to treat yourself mate! The barge is still dear as poison unfortunately about $250 return 😬😬
Stick the bag in the bucket to push out air.
Love sand whiting only thing i would change is no bread for me thanks just like that is fine 😅
Haha hard to have a sandwich without bread! Nah would have been awesome by itself as well 👌👌
you need some sand worming pliers theyre only like 3 bucks and make such a difference
Hey Sammy have you tried eating tailor roe . I love it very tasty. 😂
Yeah I have a few times actually. Not usually my first choice but it’s not too bad 🤣
for those who asked (im sure no one did) those jets look like F/A 18E Super Hornets, the primary jet of the RAAF
Thanks for the info mate 🍻🍻

G’day mate, I sell them on my website www.sammyhitzkefishing.com

where was this mate?
Wow Sammy and Shawnee
yous need to come to Port Lincoln
because we have the kidney slappers of whiting 45cm /60cm
Hey mate! Yeah KG whiting are definitely on the list! Those big fellas look like they would pull some string! 🍻🍻
I actually think stumpies are easier to catch than slimies. Don't muck around pull them quicker 😊
Hahah I pulled the heads off 4 in a row the day before trying to pull them out fast. These ones were super fragile!
Nar Sammy I usually get the first worm then miss the next 10 before I get it together lol
🤣🤣🤣 fluke first time then over think it the rest?
Ketchup and mayo works
I didn’t have either there unfortunately!
