Just got 2025 Legacy Premium with 015 package had after market leather seats installed. So far so Good. Best bang for buck in it's class. No hybrid no turbo and symmetrical AWD. I think it is the best option out there in it's market segment.
I have been driving our 25 gt touring for 2 weeks and 700 miles. Great car, big bang for the buck. I really think they are making a mistake discontinuing it.
I loved and hated the 2021 touring, the main reason I sold it was the lack of choosing a suspension setup, a decent transmission and an actually working infotainment system (it would black out for many minutes). If it had all that then it would have sold as many sedans as BMW.
I have a 2020 Legacy Limited non-turbo. It’s not fast by any means but it has no problem getting out of its way and going up hills. I’d say it feels like it has above average acceleration.
Great value for money, spacious, taller than most other sedans and above average headlights even in the cheapest base trim for $26k. rear airvents at this price point are very rare too
Midsized sedans are where it's at these days. Great value compared to compact crossovers. I feel like wagons are about to make a comeback next. I'd kill for an Accord or Jetta Wagon.
I have a 2005 Legacy GT wagon in my garage right now, bought it new. I’d love to replace it with another legacy wagon. The outback isn’t a wagon to me. I’ve had 3 subie wagons and loved them all, I guess I’ll replace the ‘05 with a sedan but I’ll miss it
We have a 2024 Outback Touring XT and absolutely love it. We were driving Lexus ES's and RX's last weekend possibly to upgrade our Acura TLX, but we didn't like them as much as our Outback. So, we are now looking at the Legacy. It is a huge bang for the buck sedan. Check out the brown interior, so rich. BTW, when going down a hill, tapping the paddle shifter will help slow it down using engine RPM. All roads here are hilly and curvy, so that is nice versus hitting the brakes to slow down.
I don’t know if I’m getting old (aren’t we all lol) but I’m definitely getting cooled seats in my next car. This looks pretty comfy for a commuter. Currently driving a 22 WRX limited 6spd.
It would be so easy for them to just sell an Outback with less grond clearance, they wouldn't need to change anything except for a few suspension parts. But stupid regulations like CAFE would make them lose money on it.
Thanks for this excellent review of the Subaru Legacy. I plan to order the exact same car that is in this video. The Cosmic Blue Pearl is one of my favorite colors. The other being Ice Silver Metallic.
As far as music goes could it be better sure but for price point/size/styling Numbers wise it’s a great system 12 speakers in a midsize sedan. Over 500 watt amp. For under 40k. I agree els/bowers/etc. are great sound systems but with the vehicles they are ok price point is drastically different. Even at the same size vehicle or relative. It’s basically step into a different class of vehicle. For someone buying a Subaru even at top trim for the price it’s spot on. All the safety plenty of well integrated bells and whistles great interior design and materials which is huge. Compared to similar vehicles in its class. It ranks very high.
I've test driven the 2025 Legacy Premium and 2025 Camry LE FWD and really like both cars. At pretty much the same price point, I'm trying to decide which vehicle to go with. Outstanding gas mileage with the Camry or outstanding AWD system and decent gas mileage with the Legacy. Which would you choose?
I decided to go with the Legacy Premium and picked her up 2 days ago from Ciocca Subaru noless, but the one in Allentown, PA. My only regret is not having her for the snow storm we had last Sunday. 🤣
Great review. I do love them for the sleeper look, esp w the turbo. I have been eyeing the Sport in the blue color. I'm not a huge fan of the back end, as compared with the older versions. As far as the AWD and the engines, you could say they are very well developed by now. I don't agree that the AWD is the very best, though. I had an experience with my mom's Forester in a roundabout and I slid into a curb in snow and sloppy slippery conditions! I was surprised, and I decided when I went out later in this snowstorm, that I would drive my 2017 Infiniti QX50, which I never had issues with! And, lo and behold, I had a blast and it was way better. In snow mode, it's even better than that! I never lost full traction. I would imagine the AWD in Infinitis and Nissans, comes down the pike from the incredible GTR and the development on that awesome monster! Did you like the performance of the turbo? Was in fun to throw around or too lightly sprung for that?
Its like they went down the list and checked all off the boxes for what people want in a car, and it succeeds at all of those things, but I feel like I wouldnt be excited about telling anyone about it
I have a 2024 non turbo mid tier trim and rave about it. Very nice feel to drive. Not overly peppy but fine. Has all the features you want at a good price point. I am sad to see it go but the out back is very similar in size and only a little more. It's also a great car.
They always keep each design for a few years. So, they wouldn't re-deign and only make it for one year, since there is a high cost to re-design a vehicle.
Most of the functions on the touchscreen are for the climate control, the sound system and the GPS. The steering wheel has some controls on it as well, like the adaptive cruise and even volume up/down for the sound system and phone.
2025 is the final year for the Legacy, so if you want one, now is the time.
Just got 2025 Legacy Premium with 015 package had after market leather seats installed. So far so Good. Best bang for buck in it's class. No hybrid no turbo and symmetrical AWD. I think it is the best option out there in it's market segment.
Fun fact my 2024 Subaru Legacy Premium came with the sunroof so its possible to option other trims with it as well... great video
I have been driving our 25 gt touring for 2 weeks and 700 miles. Great car, big bang for the buck. I really think they are making a mistake discontinuing it.
The sales numbers say otherwise. Nobody's buying them.
I loved and hated the 2021 touring, the main reason I sold it was the lack of choosing a suspension setup, a decent transmission and an actually working infotainment system (it would black out for many minutes). If it had all that then it would have sold as many sedans as BMW.
Looks WAY better than the goofy bar of soap looking Accord. Nice review!
HAhahaa
Kinda like the Chrysler Concorde of the past.
Not even close,Accord all day.
Lmfao 😂🧼

That sounds like my new Toyota Camry. Your comment about tapping to slow down on a hill is what I’m speaking of.
Something I learned long ago from a Porsche Driving instructor: Brake Pads are Cheaper than Transmissions! Glad to hear you are loving your Outback!
I plan to purchase soon as this is the last year for the Legacy.
I just bought one and it's great. '25 Touring XT, and it's one of the nicest cars I've driven.
It’s a shame there discontinuing it, sedans are quietly making a comeback in the day of expensive automobiles.
I don’t know if I’m getting old (aren’t we all lol) but I’m definitely getting cooled seats in my next car. This looks pretty comfy for a commuter. Currently driving a 22 WRX limited 6spd.
A lot of cars with cooled seats really just have ventilated seats - be sure to check it out before buying one that claims to have cooled seats
Very good review. Thanks.
Base model FTW! Top trims are too much money 💰
Tons of value there for sure! 💯
I gotta have the turbo, otherwise, what's the point?
@@rileystanekturbo on a boxer is a horrible idea , plus you have a cvt with no first gear, yiu will destroy the cvt
You can find Premium and Limited Legacies with deep discounts. I’d say the Premium is the best value if discounted enough.
Amazing review bro.
I have 600 CD's including Ace of Base and Dookie. The CD player alone makes me want to buy this.
Haha I think I still have most of mine as well! 😆
I like this Subaru sedan & I will buy this 1 day.
I was driving on the PA turnpike from Philly to Pittsburgh today with my forester I loved going fast.
No lasting Legacy? they should keep it and make a non Outback wagon like they used to
It would be so easy for them to just sell an Outback with less grond clearance, they wouldn't need to change anything except for a few suspension parts. But stupid regulations like CAFE would make them lose money on it.

Sedans are far more better looking than crossover vehicles.
And plenty functional.
Gold Pony, thanks for anything you can tell us about what happened to the i/set button that used to be on previous versions of the Legacy.

FYI the sport does not come standard with rear heated seats. I just picked mine up last week.

The last year. This could impact resale value. Be sure to get a 7% or better discount if buying. It is a dead-end for the model?
Does it have a brake hold system ?
not in canada
Excellent review. Legacy may be the best bang for the buck AWD sedan. Too bad the model is being discontinued.
Was that a STOP sign? Dude?
I thought the Legacy was discontinued, but I guess not.
I heard that 2025 will be the last model year they sell after that it’s discontinued. I was hoping for a complete redesign
It is gone after this year.
@@lorenschwiderski Only if you mean by "this year" 2025.
Being the last year, I expected an all new design from ground up. It literally looks just like my 2023 legacy. Kinda disappointed.
They always keep each design for a few years. So, they wouldn't re-deign and only make it for one year, since there is a high cost to re-design a vehicle.
Too back that they will stop making it!
Looks the same
It's too bad that you're at the mercy of that hideous center stack touchscreen for so many vehicle functions.
Most of the functions on the touchscreen are for the climate control, the sound system and the GPS. The steering wheel has some controls on it as well, like the adaptive cruise and even volume up/down for the sound system and phone.
