I enjoyed your review on PenPal. I agree the intimate parts were too graphic and I don't think it was needed. Many times I skipped over those parts. I was interested in the actual story. Like you I thought Aiden had something to do with her husband's death. The author took a different approach to the story. This is not my usual genre. I tend to lean more to psychological thrillers which I thought this one was and it wasn't. I thought the ending was ok. At least the ghosts of Aiden and Kayla got there happily ever after and Michael deserve what he got.

Great video. My most disappointing read, which I put off for a long time, was A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor. It just wasn't what I thought it would be. The "suspense" was lackluster and not fully flushed out. And the ending was very blah. What happens with Bishir (or whatever the bad guy's name was)? Is Amon's house going to be the new Manor? Just a lot of unanswered/unresolved things. I think my favorite character was Booker, the marble guy.
I love to hear ppl give legit reason why they disliked books i love. I adored ruthless stranger but your reasonings are also legit. I dnfed priest, skipped sinner but saint was probably in my top 3 of the year. It’s a lot more emotional to me than priest. It’s beautifully written.
I love the monsters series by J.T. but still haven't picked up Pen Pals yet...The book isn't calling me yet...maybe someday,maybe not. Who knows🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

This new smut craze on bookbok is driving me insane because it's making authors write their books with only booktok in mind; writing plotless books STUFFED with tropes and smut. I've really having to go back to reading older books because all these newer books, heavily influenced by booktok, heavily sex driven, is starting to turn me off from the romance genre.

I haven’t picked up Catherine Cowles yet, because she is overhyped and now I doubt I will. I don’t like authors who constantly use one trope over and over again. They are one trick ponies 😂. I completely understand why you didn’t like Pen Pal and being lied to by the author and having her change the genre last minute is definitely shady. Also you did not deserve the hate you got on goodreads and I don’t blame you for not wanting to read the author again. I read that Crossfire series years ago and I never finished it 😂. I hate book series where the couple is around for 5 freaking books. I want the story wrapped up by book one or at least book two. I Read Ruthless Stranger and I wasn’t impressed. I’m not much of a fan of mafia, so if I read it then it better be good. For Fiona Cole, I really liked her book called Another, but I need to re-read it again to see if I still like it 😬.
The characters in Does it Hurt WERE way too comfortable with the weird stuff in the lighthouse scenes 😂 The bunny references in Pen Pal were so freaking weird omg! Definitely lost my trust with that one.
I couldn’t finish the Crossfire series either. Twisted Lies was a little disappointing to me, I just couldn’t get in to it like I did the previous 3 in the series.
I absolutely adore Cassandra Robbins' books, especially her Disciples MC Series,and Rise...but "Power" is my pick for the year's most disappointing read.
