    Vincent is the only dude on YT I seen that teaches u how to hit a one handed backhand and actually plays with a one handed backhand. A lot of others “teaches” it by dropping the ball in front of them or with a top spin pro. It’s way different and more difficult to show when a ball is coming towards you. People give him crap for how he teaches how to hit a one hander but it’s the best advice on YT. Keeping that wrist in the L shape until contact was the best advice for me.

    Man, that is the racket with which I have played my best tennis, I have beaten for the first time several players whom I had not beaten before and with authority. It is a racket that requires you to play at 100% of your capacity to get the most out of it and it rewards you with a super aggressive, precise game, a very heavy ball, the best slice in the entire UNIVERSE and it is impossible to miss volleys with it, obviously you need have the strength and technique to achieve it, but everything has a price to pay. If you suffer from arm joint problems like me, you will have to be careful with the string setup you should choose, otherwise you are guaranteed an invitation to physiotherapy. Greetings Vincent, good tennis session by the way.

    Federer has the gut in the mains and the Alu Power Rough in the crosses. He only uses 10 string savers. They're placed in a crisscross pattern across the five center main strings and the fourth and sixth cross strings. His string tensions vary by the conditions and surface of the tournament he's playing at. The crosses are always strung 2.2lbs or 1kg less tight then the mains.

      At the French his main is 27 kg and and 25.5 cross. I actually have a screenshot
      Of the paper of his racquet request. His lower tension is still a lot higher than most of us. I bought a ps97 without demo and had to add weight to make it head heavy. Always assumed RF autograph was just a fan boy racquet but had I took the time to research both my stick would be RF. One is and one just the regular ps97. At first the light feel in the hand seem nice but I swing too fast n framed half my shots. Roger has 4-6 grams over the head of his and under the bumper guard. My PS feels a little more balanced now with a black leather grip and 8 grams. 4 at the 10 and 2 position. My RF97 has 4 grams just on the top head and feels more balanced. I do enjoy my weighed ps more due to the heavy head weight. Finally trying string set ups and ps97 has RFs hybrid set up. Before trying hybrid the pro shop recommended full poly from confidential and I was not a big fan. After a month, had hybrid setup. Mine has gut in main at 57 lbs and 54 cross with ALu rough. My RF has technibre NRG 16g multifil @ 55 lbs. I had 17g nxt before that and lasted me 200 balls from my ball machine before it snapped. Recently got back into tennis almost 2 months ago. Can’t even enjoy 17g for a min so i have to go back to 16g. If this hybrid last me over 2 months I am definitely sticking with this hybrid. I probably won’t need nat gut but like the alu rough as my cross. As far as string savers I don’t bother.

    Have you experimented with different patterns of string savers? Apparently Federer uses two rows of 5 fairly near the top. I copied him, but haven't tried any other patterns. I find just using 10 string savers that it makes the strings last about 40-50% longer.

    String tension 59lbs? Seen other videos of pro stringers stringing Fed's rackets. Actually showed Rodger dropping them off. The tension was considerable less, like under 50Ibs which surprised me. In any case, would not recommend your average player using a stiff racket with very stiff strings. Of course, the gut helps soften the feel.

    I have recently been playing with the lighter version of this racquet at 315g unstrung. Really like the feel of it but RF97 would definitely be too heavy for me to handle. I think for a recreational player with long arms like myself 300 ~ 310g would be a sweet spot of racquet weight to get decent topspin. Any comments about my thoughts are welcome

    • @FMD023
      @FMD023 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I recently got back into tennis after 15 years and the 315 PS was too light for me. The feel and idea of a light racquet at first seemed sexy but I was framing more than half my shots. I added lead weights to be head heavy and now it’s 345g. (Should have gotten the RF over PS 97 from the start). I’m hitting the ball more accurately and harder. I’m 37 and 5”5. I can generate a lot of power myself but I don’t care how strong a person is. If you have a light racquet, you can only generate so much power. Any hard hitter on tour has a heavy SW racquet or at least 350g plus. I’m willing to bet if Vincent played with just the regular PS 97, his shots would not look as crisp. If you are looking for a lighter racquet, I recommend a Yonex ezone 98 or babalot pure drive.

    • @danielqian8899
      @danielqian8899 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FMD023 'Hard hitter on tour' are physically stronger and heavier racquets fit their need. For people sitting in office most time of a day heavier racquets may not be the best weapon IMHO. I tried a heavy one a while ago and it felt great when holding it and playing with slow opponents. But when I played with hard hitters my wrist hurt afterwards and I felt I could not move racquet quick enough.

    • @FMD023
      @FMD023 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@danielqian8899 yes I agree, just giving u my honest opinion as I always been a pro staff guy. In my teens I played with a 6.0 MS and now have a ps97 n a rf97. Since I’m still able to handle the rf97 plus an added 2 grams lead on the head, it works. I should have demoed or been open to trying different racquets before buying. If I was looking for a 315g or lighter racquet I would definitely give Yonex ezone or the pure drive more playing time. It’s way more forgiving n the power it gives off for a lighter stick is better than the ps97. I actually liked both. But it’s been almost two months now n my muscle memory on my forehead is consistent with the added weight on the ps97 or rf97 now. Maybe it’s a mental thing but the add weight gives me enough lag time on my full swing.but ya just my two cents on it. Once I find myself not able to wield this rf97 anymore I will reconsider switching to a yonex zone 98 or babalot pure drive. Either that or quit tennis for good and start playing pickleball.

    • @schubert5624
      @schubert5624 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For pretty much everyone, get the standard PS and adjust with some lead if needed. The RF spec has the balance of adding a bit in the handle and some under bumper.

    • @FMD023
      @FMD023 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@schubert5624 I should have been more open minded before buying the ps97. I didn’t demo or took the time to read the specs on the RF. I just assumed the RF autograph was made for Rodger fan boys. Which I am a Roger fan but didn’t want to buy a racquet just because of him or because I’m a fan. Mistake on my part for not taking my time to research. Roger actually has about 4 grams of lead on his head weight under the bumper guard as well. I added couple on my RF as well but since it’s already on the heavy side the RF feels balanced. My PS97 where I added lead to the 10 and 2 position definitely notice the weight is head heavy. I actually have a more fun time swinging with my ps rn but we will see if that changes

    Really like your content. Good work! But surely the 340g RF97 is too heavy for the average recreational player and may even lead to arm issues? Even the
    315g version is not for everyone…

    • @hotstixx
      @hotstixx 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's pretty much what happened to me - I got one off the rack on loan so not his custom racket.First thing u notice is the weight.Itcwas really great to hit with for 20 minutes - all my single handed backhand issues were solved because of the stability/weight and there's a load of free power with it - that pop thatvthe pros get was suddenly mine - within 5 minutes I was calculating how I'd sell my 2 Technifibers and buy 2 of these but in another 15 my shoulder was absolutely shredded.
      Be careful with heavy rackets.Roger was obviously conditioned since very young.Oh,and putting topspin on the ball is not as easy as formerly.In the end it illustrated my poor weight transfer which I remedied on my own.Just wish I had young joints..then I'd be hitting with Pro-Staff.

      Oh yeah. Nearly 14 ounces and strung in the 70s lbs on purpose to make the strings "dead" so to speak, to kill as much power as possible to maximize control. Add to that the penny sized sweetspot.

    I didn't get any of the relevant aspects of a tennis racket "review" . What ppl should know about this racket is that even is heavy on paper it doesn't feel as heavy when playing with it because it is very light on the head..I think it was about 12 points HL. What that means is that while you get some penalty in stability and power , you also get some extra manoevrability in certain situations. I would count here kickserves, volleys and one-handed backhands. Speaking of backhands I haven't seen you striking a single full movement backhand, where you let the head of the racket go all the way, Federer style or any other player tbh. That being said for ppl that don't play much on the net I don't see a real gain with this racket. The average baseliner can get much more from a Yonex Vcore 97 at 330g and only 7points HL. And yeah I know that at some point like 75% of the players from ATP where playin Edberg's racket which is basically a precursor of Federer's racket, only stiffer.
