If anyone thought Liz would retire, they weren't paying close attention. This had nothing to do with concern about Charles, this had to do with her sense of duty, and she was brought up to believe that the role was for life. She lived through the scandal of Edward VIII's abdication and would never think of doing it for any reason herself. Any other speculation is nonsense.

I don't think Queen Elizabeth may she rest in peace? Thought anything negative about King Charles'? Now she fulfilled to do this. She pledged to her country so many years ago I understand that it was her time but I'm sorry she had to suffer before she passed away with so much pain and suffering. I do enjoy seeing her pictures show more of them. Made the great Queen rest in peace.
