Wow, this video really blew up huh! thanks for watching! but I cannot promise a frequent upload of compositions, as for now I am not composing seriously, so no need to subscribe, unless if you're looking for score videos! here are some frequently asked questions: Q. why is it in B minor? A. the virtual instrument is a Graf 1826 fortepiano with the historic pitch A=415 Hz, a half-step lower than the usual 440Hz, so it's natural that you'd hear B minor but I understand your confusion because not a lot of people would expect Historic pitch on a late-romantic style etude. Q. the triplets are not pianistic or viable ( the ones that first appear in bar 5.) A. I agree, those might have been a stretch, though playable non-legato, or rather with a staccato on the second and the third notes, it's quite ugly, and non-pianistic. the first notes could be omitted I acknowledge all comments about the lack of development and form, length, or how it may be seen as a collage connecting simple schemas, it is interesting that youtube has come to recommend to many thousands of people this banter-ish work when excellent composers upload excellent pieces, getting little views.
This sounds crazy, but as a mediocre pianist, you might be able to keep some (if not all) of the "non-viable" triplet material like in b5 with a bit of... trickery. Some ambidexterity. You could look at trying to share one of the triplet dyads with the LH, forcing leaps in the LH, which, while hard, might not be *as* "unviable". Or, even better! Play just the bottom of note of either the 2nd or 3rd dyad in each triplet with the LH instead. This will require reworking the score, though to make that obvious for the performer :) Either way, I think some sort of compromise can be found in using leaps in the left hand.
Nice, man! I loved the key modulation in the middle. It sounds like a Chopin etude. I would recommend exploring the ternary form, bc it would go great with this type of etude. My favorite part of Chopin etudes and nocturnes (which are almost all in ternary form btw) is when it returns to the principal theme after finishing the B theme, which would really fit with this type of composition.
it’s still a beautiful piece but chopin would’ve written it a lot differently. the left hand is „too dry“. chopin adds more color by using waves. i think that also the melody would be more sung and connected with in if chopin wrote it. all this said doesn’t mean the piece written isn’t good. the piece is wonderful i love it. but chopin would’ve done it just not in that way

Really cool piece; I especially loved the rhythmic contrast between the two hands in measure 11. 16-based time signatures are fun & I seriously don't understand why more ppl don't compose in 12-16 like you did since 12 feels great with 3- & 4-based pulses.

I haven’t listened to this all the way but I’m confused about one thing. The music is written in C minor, by the audio is in B minor. How? Other than that I like it :)
It sounds like Bach just because of the use of the Circle of Fifths. I mean, that was used by other composers also, but I guess it sounds like the Baroque style of the Circle of Fifths, if you know what I mean.
This is very nice! Really like the changes in key and the power it gets from those descending octaves! I hear you use a Graf 1826 as a virtual instrument... Could you please tell where you managed to get that? (Thanks in advance!)
So many say: because of their perfect pitch. If we look close on notes, you see a frequency number, and if we go up to a]frequence like 10 and 20 thousand, I don’t think you will know the note by hearing it
Playing this at 0.75 speed is also really nice. Maybe it's because I play Organ which is almost impossible to play Etudes this fast (unless its a full electric organ with 0 key resistance ofc). Really like this one though, eager for more!
Nice etude, it sounds really good. Only problem I see is the playability of the triplets, they could get tricky to play at this tempo. I have no doubt someone out there can play it, given enough training and patience, but maybe it’s unnecessarily difficult for the pianist.
historical pitch A=415hz instead of 440hz, would sound a half step down. listen to any historically informed performance of a Bach cantata ( present also in my channel ) you would find that what you hear rarely coincides with what's written.
Видимо, тот мужик, который исполняет, сам сочинил этот этюд. Good job, I like the idea! I would suggest you to sketch back the piece in plain four-part harmony (or even just a figured bass if you know how to do that) because the music makes sense "vertically" but there are some problems "horizontally" like parallels and awkward melodies/voice leading that can be more easily detected that way. Then you can easily switch it back to this pianistic style. Also sometimes the bass melody sounds a bit redundant. You could for example have an occasional 16th note there and I'd suggest to avoid using V-I too frequently.
I see the parallels definitely on the 1-7-6-5, and on m11. I usually put a lot of care on counterpoint but I got lazy this time heh. too much fifth progressions too. thanks for the feedback.
it is unfortunately a little overpriced, (around 200$ for the software) but its one of the free instruments that come together with a bunch of other historical instruments for pianoteq
there's a couple options, but I am afraid none are free, I am fortunate to have recieved some fortepiano sf2 files for free, if you could get your hands on those it would be good as this one. I'd recommend not spending 200 dollars for a fortepiano VST like Pianoteq8, which is what you here in the video
Question: why don’t composers write their pieces with triplets like moonlight sonata? I find it much easier putting 6:8 into 2:4 with triplets because you’re able to count it easier. 6:8 implies that you can count the notes precisely which I find quite odd
Well written. Nice to know there are people still writing real music. The last measure was a little cheeky but I'm certain the whole thing would sound better with a human performance.

The music is well but you do not think of poor pianists who will play it (if they will). For example, episodes from 0:09-0:13 (with three sextes) and 0:43-0:48 are extremely difficult and not convenient for the right hand (I would say they contradict the nature of pianistic hands). Have a good luck!
