This videos really helpful in what to expect to be doing, my 92 3.0 just broke down, your video makes a great guide for someone that's never worked on an engine!

My first job with Ford, in 1999, was installing the timing chain and cam sprockets on those engines at the Lima Engine Plant in Lima Ohio. When did the code tag say this one was built?

That is the third cylinder from the front along the crankshaft but it is called cylinder #2 with the liquid. When I disassembled my Vulcan a few weeks ago, I accidentally #3 also but caught the mistake in time. Hopefully, your daughter got the opportunity to turn a wrench too. I let my wife do some of the work.
please do part 2 because I am kind of stuck since this is my first time rebuilding an engine and there are basically no videos on yt about rebuilding this.
Engine is back in and running pretty well. It’s chugging slightly. I’m gonna be changing out the cam synchronizer. All the videos leading up to that are on my other channel (“Mickey Bobby”) just type that in the TH-cam search and you’ll see the logo. There’s about 16 videos total.

I am replacing a 2005 3.0 Vulcan engine with 157K that has a spun rod bearing with a 2004 3.0 Vulcan that has 215K. If you keep the oil changed in these engines, replace the cam synchronizer ever 75K miles and don't over rev these engines they will last forever. Another thing to always remember is that a 2002 - 2008 block is different than a 2001 and older 3.0 block because of the X casting and the knock sensor on the side.

Got a ‘99 Ranger 3.0 and really enjoyed this. I’ll keep an eye out for video #2.

I'm also working on a 1993 V6 Vulcan from the block up. Nice to see someone doing rebuild on this engine
That soundtrack is brutal dude.😢
Thanks for the video. I love my vulcan is a great old American style engine. Greetings from Uruguay. Ford is the greatest in this world.

Did that with my 2002 but swapped to roller cam, rockers, and lifters. Egr delete also. It made a big difference.
When might we see part two? Im doing the same as you but on a 2001 3.0 V6.
The rest of the parts are on my other channel. Just search Mickey Bobby. You’ll see my logo.
Nice video!👍🏻 I’m thinking about rebuilding the Vulcan v6 for my 96 Ranger. This has given me some needed motivation 😂 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm doing the same thing with my ranger, only adding some hipo mods and only taking it down to the short block. Keep the videos coming. :)
Wish you were my neighbor...cool video.

Good job
Looking out for part 2. I got a 2000 3.0 that needs new head gasket but this makes me wanna rip the whole thing apart and rebuild

It does help to take the nut off the harmonic balancer prior to using the puller :)
Man I have to do this I need a book lol

Any more on this?
I have a Ranger with this exact V6, wanna see what you do with it...right now mine has the lifter/rocker arm tick...driving me crazy
What was the condition of the harmonic balancer? In need of a new one?
what engine stand is that and what mounting bolts did you use

Any luck? Going to be doing this myself soon. Engine blew a head gasket 10 years ago gonna see if she’s salvageable
Is this the same as the 93 3.0l v6 ranger engine
That's cool I'm doing the same thing on my ranger. Did you get the engine back into the truck?

When I replace a 3.0 I always tell junk yard I want one from a ford taurus they tend to sell them cheaper than one out of another ranger.
Cuál es el orden de encendido de una Ranger 3.0 v6
I have a Ranger 3.0 and I need an engine block does a Mazda 2004 pick engine block work?
Mazda b series is the same truck pretty much minus the badging.
As long as you have the same time period. ie...match up 2001 and up ranger with 2001 up Mazda b3000 pickup and so on.

Ok that’s good to know, thanks for that. I was just thinking about changing out the cam sensor too
