Just a little hint... if attacking a jet, always have bombs equipped and attack with mg only. As soon the jet has noticed that you attack, which should not happen because you can easily kill a jet with mg only, you can equip aa rockets and use them. Else you will not use the moment of surprise, because the enemy is warned as soon you aim with rockets at him.
That won't play good if a fighter jet player looks almost always behind her/his back. You still need to get really close to your enemy to even use the machine gun. Bf2 in 2019 has been played as Booster Packs. There, it's almost impossible to evade the aa missiles. So, stay alert and always look behind. 😉

The essex gunner is easy to kill or avoid if you know what you are doing. If you fly below the level of the deck the gun can't go low enough to get you. pull up at the last second and skim the deck, you can get some wingtip kills if they are just standing around trying to steal the jet from their teammates instead of capping flags. No camping servers always have an issue with rule breakers cheating on those. I like the adrenaline rush trying to sneak into the enemy base on foot and blow up the sat and artillery and snagging an enemy vehicle too if they are slow to defend the base. Camping can get abusive in the jet if your team is dominating so I would be sporting and limit myself from doing that if my team had most of the flags.

The J10 always felt very unresponsive, though it did turn the tightest (until the last patch). I always preferred the F35, even though it's hit box was enormous, much more responsive than any planes in later BFs.
Flying was never the same after this, it just went downhill. The controls from BF3 onwards became very "console-y", big disappointment. Used to love dominating the server in my J-10, controlled via my Logitech 3D Pro Joystick. Ah the good old days :(
I played this game for ages, manged to be 3 star, loved all the little glitchs like on wake island, get in to jet aim at building slowly creep up to it and just as the nose of the jet touched the building jump out and you be inside the building, every one remembers Karkland drop the truck in between buildings and jump out and you be inside a bulding, drive a truck in to water a little bit, as the truck health dropped just keep repairing and earn more ribbons and badges,i could go on but it is a game always in my heart. I did try 2142 or what ever it was, but a floating battle tank, come on EA what was you on...

@@pentaboss1351 I guess i am :) My aim wasn't that great so i was usually healing, repairing or supplying ammo. Hunting tanks and artillery with C4 was fun too. This map was nice because of the J-2 jet. It was much fun just staying at the airfield and watching it flyby. Amazing plane :)
I always found jets in bf2 "easier" to handle, even though they have way less maneuverability than in bf3/4 , those give me a hard time, specially when dogfighting lvl 140 pilots.
At least in BF2 you didn't get vehicle improvements just by grinding, so a new player had the same equipment as an experienced one. It baffles me how DICE consider it fair from BF3 onwards that players who have had many hours to learn to usethe vehicle also get in-game technical advantages over new players. The planes in the later BFs are much worse than in BF2, as the frostbite engine can't manage the same physics as refractor2.
Wow! Top notch flying, I always die while flying in BF2, so I stick to the ground or other vehicles. I wish they had a graphics patch to up the visuals and the draw distance in BF2, it would make have less of that cloud and fade in of the world. Here is me hoping that a team of fans makes a remake of this game or graphics pack update for this game.

The fade is a good thing, as it stops players in air vehicles being able to see (and attack) the whole map at the same time.
