This is maybe a silly question, but just wondering, I'm about 38 min in watching, you guys are pretty evenly matched, you'd just commented to him you were both going to be irrelevant through this and he'd agreed. I can see 4 cities-ish with your current lands at least, not terrible cities. He's got at least 3 cities of just the lands I can see, so probably 4 cities minimum. Why did you two not agree to peace and both start attacking/expanding outwards away from each other? It would have been a chance to both not be irrelevant?
I don't recall seeing as many city spots for myself as you're suggesting. And iirc Mr. Sink suggested the same from his perspective. Also, with us so close and the "good spots" between us, conflict was going to occur at some point, we were both trying to settle for advantage (from city location). Sometimes you're just forced into war =/.
I think this ridiculous early war of spearmen slamming into each other is the only way Japan's passive actually does something
