I saw another good method and it worked for me. It was particularly useful because I have trouble accurately bedding my keyboard frame when it is out of the piano. The method has you adjust the let-off with the action installed in the piano. Go aggressive with the adjustment until the note repeats or otherwise mutes the string. Then just back it off slightly - just enough to get a nice pure tone. Thanks once more for the great training videos. You are making me feel like a know-it-all. lol

Interesting. I tried your method. Backing off to a pure tone wasn't quite enough. I would get key resistance when I played a song. About another quarter turn was necessary to make the key work correctly. Maybe that's because the knuckles on my 1905 Ibach have lost their original shape and are somewhat flattened, throwing off the jack regulation to the knuckles. Good suggestion, though, with my slight tweak.

What if the heads of the hammers are a different height from a previous filing? I think the standard way is more time consuming but more accurate. There's probably 1/8th difference in standard hammer dimensions in each section from new. Your way would give an uneven regulation.

Previous to this step, the hammers are gang-sanded to assume the same height.

Your camera person is not very good. You didn't explain where exactly you placed the gig. What's clicking of what? You need to get your camera right in the to show what's happening when you press the key.
