Lost my mother-in-law to inflammatory breast cancer a few years back...and while we had out differences at times, I was sooooooo lucky to have her as my mother-in-law. Also, had a friend who’s father died of breast cancer. So men can have it too. (Just a little PSA) Thanks for sharing Prof Dave and best of luck in your future Maríe!!!
Fascinating insight to what goes on behind the scenes and the hard work required to discover new and effective ways to treat potentially life threatening diseases. Thank you Dave and thank you Maria.
Going to have my little girl watch this. Too much junk on youtube and the internet just about girls acting shallow and showing cleavage to be popular and get more likes. This - having a nice lady with obvious brains and work ethic (who is also cute) showing that we are only limited by the boxes we choose to place ourselves in. María, thank you for being a great positive role model. Dave, thank you for the video.
@@satinderjit4Hey, I’m assuming you’ve graduated by now. I am a biochem student myself and I was wondering if the degree was worth it. What field did you choose? I’m sorry if these questions are rude I just wanna know if I’m making the right career choice while it’s still fairly early.
Please do more videos like this!!! She was sooooo inspiring! I’d love to hear about more scientist and researchers around the world! Hopefully someday we can get you on Netflix!!!
Truly awe-inspiring research, Dr. (or should I say, Double Dr. ;-) ) del Mar Maldonado! I lost my father in 2008 to pancreatic cancer, another form of cancer that tends to metastasize to numerous other organs, like breast cancer. Are you aware of any efforts to mirror or translate your incredible research to other forms of highly metastatic cancer? Thank you, again, for an outstanding view into your research and, for the sake of humanity, never stop discovering. You clearly have a gift, and the world needs gifts like you - especially now.
Such an accomplished scientist. Her work in the field of cancer therapy and cure is greatly appreciated. Oh, and she's someone who can actually understand Professor Dave's advanced chemistry/biochemistry videos. ;-)
What an exciting piece of research! Metastases are the worst part of cancer to manage. If they can he inhibited, the opportunities for patients are massively improved.
very interesting to us the scientists, i considered that as a motivation for more production in my biochemistry parcours, thanks professor dave for that
definitely... then you want to pour another gel and something is out, APS for example, so you gotta go and make a new stock solution... no scientist anymore, but these were hard facepalm moments during my studies...
Hi professor Dave. Realistically, how hard is it to get a job at academia? I'm considering a degree in math but from what I've heard getting a professorship and stuff like that is very hard and competitive. Appreciate any advice I can get
She's very cute. Finally science is starting to appeal to more than just the nerdy ugly kids. It truly is an all encompassing, all accepting world, if you're willing to put in the work.
My friend just got into IISC for pg in biology so proud of her that I came here to see what different bio scientists do .
a heartfelt salute to all the women scientists out there! ❤️
And the men in science!
I perform free breast examinations. I also teach women to do it themselves,
Cool. I hope this becomes a series showcasing different scientists.
It already is that! This is #6 so far.

I've been thinking of pursuing biochem and pharmacy as well, so this was super interesting to watch. Thank you for sharing!

Dave, thank you for the video.
Please keep her away from social media influence
I can’t wait to get my bachelors degree in biochemistry!
Liam Jones Good luck. I have one more year myself.
Dont wait! RUN FAST
Best of luck! Go get 'em!

So inspiring! I'm a food chemistry student from Germany 😊
I love food!

I'm gonna be biochemical engineer. 😊😍 In this September I'm gonna begin my first work with a researcher team. I can't wait to be there. 😊
So far, how did it go?

This is a nice feature. I hope you keep doing these.

This is great!

🙏🏼
Scientists are so cool.
Pretty and smart. Prefect
Jealous...I am. Stay blessed.
Hello🙂
So... I see now. You have access to an extra dimension, where time does not affect you.
Marry Me!
She is cute
When a fellow Biochemist from another continent turns you on :p :p!
You know ive been thinking. Why not get her to work with the hacksmith to make a real web shooter?
A
So a biochemist is a scientist??
yes
If biochemists are this good looking sign me up. I cant be fucked to wasted hundreds of thousands in school though. Thats a waste of time and money.
