    The tactics of this LP player is clear: short, a bit spinny serve with inverted rubber and afterwards only LP with backhand from any position. He plays the ball mostly on your BH as most of the players have a better FH than BH. He places the balls sometimes short to the FH to make you move and provoke your errors. Tries in general to vary short balls to your BH with short.
    He would love to receive more spinny but slow topspins that he can revert with the LP to heavy backspin. Seldomly this worked.
    Best against those type of players is to serve straight and fast with no spin to his BH. As he stays close to the table he will have severe problems with this. In case he is able to return he will go cross. So move to execute his return with a fast shot or with a fast topspin.
    Furthermore he has no BH attack. So even if you play high balls to his BH he just can try to return somehow, but without severe placement nor speed nor spin. His returns will be good to terminate.

    I twiddle a lot just like you and I have red and black rubber it's the best combo to confuse opponents when you switch from normal rubber to anti/pips.

      You are probably right but the blue colored rubber is too beautiful! 😁

    Very well played match. Do you think anti-spin give you an advantage against long pips? I've been playing with long pips for quite a while and they feel completely useless against anti for me

    • @AndreaAschi
      @AndreaAschi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Anti does not give me any substantial advantages in playing against long pips.
      Many times I am convinced I would struggle less playing with two inverted rubbers against this kind of player.
      The strategy is always to finish the point with the forehand. 😉

    I really like your style but cannot use ABS … Did you use antispin to attack or just for defense because I try to attack with ABS but it is very hard … nice 👍

      @rakishman1313 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey I hope the nationals was fun for you. He twiddles most of the time if you pay close attention most of the drives are with the inverted side . With abs you d need a carbon zlc blade to drive

    • @AndreaAschi
      @AndreaAschi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I use the anti exclusively in passive mode. I do a lot of footwork to create opportunities to attack with my forehand or, as Onur rightly pointed out to you, I twiddle the racquet if I want to attack with the backhand as well. 😉

      Hi Jeremy!
      I have never tried Scandal. I know it has a slow sponge similar to the one I use. It certainly has better spinreversal than the grass d-tecs. If you are used to play close to the table it is a good option.

    Che nervi di Simone, con la sua manina fatata che lascia tutto corto e non ti fa tirare, bravo perche giocatori del genere sono sempre difficili da gestire, specie se hai puntino o antitop sul rovescio

    Your opponent had no real game plan, I've dealt with players like this before and it can be really frustrating

    • @AndreaAschi
      @AndreaAschi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it is yes frustrating if you don't find the right strategy! to beat certain players you have to have a lot of patience and don't relax for a second.

    • @rakishman1313
      @rakishman1313 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I disagree . The opponent knew what he needed to do against anti. Long pips players are harder for anti players especially frictionless and he overloaded balls on the anti side forcing Andrea to twiddle. His abilities were lacking in playing the game and to be frank he is much lower level than Andrea but tactics wise he knew what he needed to do to have a slight chance

    Πρέπει κάποιος να πει στον κυριούλη με το αμυντικό δόντι ότι η ρακέτα έχει δύο πλευρές και ότι αυτός ο κύριος Δεν παίζει πινγκ πονγκ

    • @meklon5
      @meklon5 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Διαφωνώ. Και οι δύο παίζουν έξυπνα και χρησιμοποιούν καλά τις ικανότητές τους. Ο αντίπαλος του Αντρέα έχει περιορισμένο εύρος ικανοτήτων καθώς δεν είναι ο νεότερος και όχι ο πιο γρήγορος. Έτσι εστιάζει στο να καταστρέψει το παιχνίδι και να εξαναγκάσει τον αντίπαλό του σε λάθη. Αυτό είναι επίσης ένα πολύ γνωστό και πιθανό στυλ πινγκ πονγκ.
      - Disagree. Both play smart and use their skills well. Andrea's opponent has a limited range of abilities as he is not the youngest and not the fastest. So he focuses on breaking up the game and forcing his opponent into mistakes. This is also a very well known and possible table tennis style.
