I'm not a fan of the film but with Fincher I tend to enjoy the technical aspects such as cinematography more than storytelling and so I find many of his films hit and miss though they do contain some of the most startling, beautiful and memorable images ever to grace a screen... but... although I once would have pointed out many of the 'errors' you point out... I soon came to the conclusion... and even more so after viewing your video... that they are all or mostly deliberate... and not wanting to simplify by suggesting why they are... it's my belief that we only need to think a little deeper to grasp why the killer behaves so recklessly.

Thanks for this, the flaws were in such abundance that I was keen to see if anything had been said about it. 101 on what not to do as an assassin. An engaging, enjoyable movie about an assassin is a tough ask, that’s why it’s rarely successfully done. The reality is, the assassin would need to be so meticulous that he’d always shoot from a distance, so no hand to hand combat and he’d rarely be in the light, always be lurking in the shadows, not easy ingredients to work with in movie making. I was surprised to see so few views and comments on your post, I guess that’s a reflection on the low bar audiences set for movie watching these days.

Hey, thanks for your comment . Yeah I agree- I also enjoyed the movie but for some reason, my brain is always focused on all of the obvious, unrealistic stuff (like common sense stuff a real assassin would or wouldn’t do, like better disguises, reducing risk etc). But good points, especially the part of about not being able to film in the dark (which is why his Paris stakeout location had lights inside, something that would never happen in real life). Some of the other stuff should and could’ve easily been fixed, just by hiring a weapons/military consultant to teach him how to properly hold a gun.

I hope the movie has background music to make the fight scene less awkward, because without music to make the fight more intense and exciting to watch. But if it doesn’t have music. Well…let’s just say it feels awkward to watch because it feels less like a fight scene and more like an older brother and little brother playing with thee boxing glove toys in there room. Thudding around and breaking stuff in there room. But there doing this at midnight and they are trying to not yell or make to much noise to wake there parents up because it’s a school night.

You're right- and the Florida fight scene didn't have any music but instead they went with the good old Jason Bourne-style shaky cam to make the action seem so authentic and visceral, like every single fight scene filmed in the last 15 years.
