You get a good cruise speed, range and dont break the bank in ongoing fuel costs. I dont care if the factory is 'green' or not and I dont drive a Prius.. Interested to hear how well it catches and handles thermals
I live about 40 km form pipistrel Am really proud of pipistrel, especially Virus SW. I only I had money. But I would like to mention that is not so gentle to fly than average cessna. You have to use rudder a lot to have any coordination. But perfromance is awesome, 300 ground roll, climbout is twice that of C152. I think it will certified for general aviation in the future in addition to ultralight
@jolandic I damn hope so. It'll probably perform exceptionally well in the European Market, at least commercially. Not even factoring in the awesome performance, either. If it can get popular in the Europe under higher fuel costs, then it'll be fantastic here in the states. Oh, I'd take this over the Cessna 162 without *any* hesitation.
I get to fly in one often, Its an 80 hp which Goes a long ways quickly on very little fuel, about 135 kts at 3 gph.. Seems almost like cheating when landing with the spoilers.
I like it. It's sleek and cool looking. Then performance is incredible, too.

Note that this is a ultralight in Europe (limited by FIA UL regulation at 472kg with power chute).

whats its cost
If the SW KIT was closer to $45,000 plus engine & Avionics ,,It would sell like Hot Cakes;)
If this was a low wing I'd build one
Slovenia is "between Austria and Italy"??? It is a neighbor to both countries, but between Austria and Croatia!!!

That's incredible, are you still flying it?
See-nus, vee-nus, pee-.....
So, the factory is not connected to the grid and relies on solar power.. riiiiiiight...
Just because your regressive mind can't comprehend it, doesn't make it not true.
