this is the future, molded composites (AKA glider) with an engine! In my radio controlled sailplane, we have 2 settings, one is called Camber (used to optimize slower speed when in thermals) and Reflex (-5 UP ailerons on the Pipistrel, which is used to increase speed when in sink with minimal altitude loss). The Relex setting allows faster flying with having to pitch down for speed.
Amazing low fuel burn! I live in Denver, and I get nervous during turbulence, but if it's safe for a plane as small and light as this, then I suppose a much larger commercial aircraft would not be a problem.
Wonder if the new small turbine engines could fit? Imagine cruising at 200 knots instead of 140. I would imagine the composite frame could handle it well. Maybe use wheelcovers to gain that extra efficiency on fuel.
So, the Germans had their finger in this too? Well...all the better. Check out D-motor and EDM Aerotec CoAX 2D. While at it, check Flygfabriken Seagull.

Great Video. Good job Paul. Looked like a bumpy morning there.
It's time to re-make this video!
I like the fuel burn they get and I definitely love the lines. Great lookin' airplane.

Amazing aircraft! I imagine this one with the new Rotax engine! Should be a cross-country aircraft, specially in Europe. Perfect!
You showed a lot of grace under pressure
Bovec ... one of most beutiful locations in Slovenia
isnt 220kph. 118 knots ? not 140!!
beautiful aircraft. seems like any glider pilot's dream plane. is it considered a powered glider or is it just based off of gliders?
Nice vid thanks.
I've flown several hours in the Alpha. I am in pain after and hour of sitting in it.
Were you facing forward?
These reviews are great! You should really invest in a new GoPro camera for scenery like this
Спасибо, крутой самолёт
220 km/h is 120 kt, not 140.
@d73Hify WTF is "off of"? Do you mean on?
@AVweb what camera and mount do you use?
Not the gopro!

The only virus I would want...
BTW it's VirUHs

Might cost you a camara hahaha
I would suggest you to learn some more basics in English language, apart from "WTF" and similar trendy acronyms.
nice name … should have called it “the pandemic”
