NO-ONE, I repeat, NO-ONE, comes anywhere near to the GOAT, John Farnham, singing this evocative, meaningful, powerful, engrossing, huge ANTHEM of a message song, with a fabulous symphony orchestra, for the greater good in the world ! ! ! He is called, 'The Voice' for this reason. ! ! ! A little ditty-style from a thin, delicate voice with a basically strummed guitar won't do it! (PS. John sang this song in Germany to a massive outdoor audience, who sang with him, not long before the Berlin Wall came down !)

Yes, and I’ll add some extra information that David Hirschfelder, John’s pianist, imparted in the documentary “John Farnham: Finding The Voice”. (It’s on TH-cam.) He reminded us that this epic song came out only a few years before the fall of the Berlin Wall and the unification of West and East Germany. Until then I hadn’t linked the effect it had on the whole of the UK and Europe. It was a catalyst for change and the German people took it on board. I was in London in 1989 and the euphoria about that event was palpable.
The concert had a similar effect on the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. They said they felt the excitement and happiness of this concert for days afterwards. The crowd and their symbiotic relationship with John can be paraphrased with how Evita Peron was described with the people of Argentina - they were hers and she was theirs. John invoked that famous line “the power to be powerful” and the audience followed him.
Several voice coaches have reviewed his video and all have remarked that John’s voice makes him one of the top few male singers in the world. Céline Dion has said the same and invited him to sing “The Voice” at her concert in Australia. It’s on TH-cam. I don’t think that Aurora’s voice has enough power to translate this song as it was first intended by its composers - ie. to bring about nuclear disarmament. However, I do understand that “Anothercoverlover”would resonate with Aurora as they have a similar organic neurodiversity.

Anyway thank you for the information.
Loved the info on the wall falling down and the impact it made. I never knew this and didn’t know JF I till my bride and I heard this song on a silly movie some years ago. I meant no disrespect as I believe neither did the person who requested it.
I really like both of these artist. I wasn’t comparing JF and Aurora, I was just doing a request for a subscriber.
I believe you can like both. And as I’ve said to others, take a listen to Aurora in her later years. You might be surprised!!

@@Anothercoverlover62 Perhaps I can add to your query by passing on some knowledge of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which I think you and Aurora might have. I have it too but it took 69 years to be diagnosed by a sports medicine specialist. He worked it out in just 10 minutes. It’s a genetic collagen / connective tissue disorder that’s very much under-diagnosed in society. You and Aurora are expressing different physical signs but I’m copying two websites that may clarify the links and/or possible comorbidities. Neurodiversity may be the word that you found confusing. The first website is by a psychiatrist in Arizona who has hEDS herself and the second website is by a hEDS researcher in Oregon who has a diagnosis of Hypermobile Spectrum Disorder. I have the highly arthritic version, with a lot of tendon and ligament tears. I have severe labral tears in both hips. My X-rays, CT and MRI scans look like I’m 90 years old but my facial skin looks younger than my photo here. I’m nearly 72.
I hope that the information that Sharon and Jan have shared will make more sense after you’ve read all the sections. One clear sign that I’ve noticed is that we tend to have wounds that heal with either hypertrophic or keloid scars (mine are hypertrophic). We can also be sensitive to certain anaesthesia, gluten and dairy. I’ll leave it there for the moment for you to absorb and if you’d like to ask me more questions that aren’t covered in either website please contact me on Messenger or Facebook.
www.rccxandillness.com. (Dr Sharon Meglathery (holistic psychiatrist)
www.ohtwist.com (Jan Groh, a very experienced EDS researcher who has Asperger Syndrome - as do many with EDS).
Both websites have a private Facebook group that anyone can ask to join if they suspect they may have loose joints and some of the EDS comorbidities. One classic sign that I noticed with you is that you have curved thumbs. Dr David Samra, the doctor who diagnosed me, has this sign as well. He has a TH-cam channel where he discusses various musculoskeletal conditions and you can see his thumbs there. His website is www.drdavidsamra.com.au. Some people who are hypermobile don’t have all the detrimental signs like frequent joint dislocations. My joints don’t - they sublux instead every month or so. (Our in-joke is “My back went out last night and still hasn’t come home!) Happy reading… Robyn F.

I just like the fact that people are covering John's epic song. From Tommy Johanson who completely rocked it out, to Celine Dion one of the few people in the world who could really do the song justice, John's mate Tom Jones who's incredible voice was able to give the song depth....to this young lady who did a lovely job. She has an interesting and pretty voice and this is a very cool cover. But the song is an anthem with a huge message to give to the world. Her version was basically just singing the words with no passion as at her young age she doesn't have the life experience to put behind the vocals express the meaning of the song. But cudos to her for having a go.

Thankyou for taking the time to reply to every single comment. That's a wonderful way to interact with your viewers which very few reactors do. I've gone and listened to a few more Aurora's videos now...as you seem quite passionate about her. So if everyone who doesnt know her does the same then that's something that will bring her more notice in the world. And hopefully the same thing happens for John Farnham. Over the last few years thanks to reactors he is finally getting the recognition outside of Australia that he deserves.
One thing about Farnsey fans is that they are fiercely loyal. We find it hard to beleive anyone can sing as good as him lol.
      Thanks again

@carolynh8866 thanks Carolyn! I really think it’s my duty to respond when I can. If I’m sick it might take longer but I’ll respond!
I definitely opened a hornets nest with JF and Aurora reaction! I’ve had a few in the past but not many that were this vehemently opposed to Auroras version.
This was a request that I promised to do so I did.
I love Aurora back then and now as she has a very unique voice. I love JF and his power and the symphony behind him.
I really refuse to let this turn into a competition, I didn’t start out this channel to be that. If it goes that way I’ll shut it down!
I’m hoping people see the value in both artists! You are certainly welcome to like one better as is your choice. But to say such terrible things about the other artist is wrong and hurtful.
One last thing, I think if people really knew what it takes to get to these levels they might keep opinions to themselves!!
The point I try to stress is no one “sucks” they are just different
      Sorry so long winded

@@Anothercoverlover62 all good. After watching a few Aurora videos now I can see she is very talented artist and has a pretty unique style which is totally different to JF. It is impossible to compare as they both bring something completely different to the song. And it should not be seen as a competition given the completely different styles both these artists have. I did actually like Auroras cover..but personally I prefer Farnham for this song just because it and JF have been a huge part of our Aussie culture for decades. The song is still played almost daily on our radios and at every major event in Australia. From Australia Day to sporting events. So it would never be fair to compare JF singing it to any other artist. (At least to any Australian)
Given the platform in which you work...it's interesting to see how people from other parts of the world, who don't have that decades long history with the song and with JF respond to other versions.
And like I said at the very beginning, I absolutely appreciate the fact that other artists across the world have discovered the song and like it so much that they even want to do a cover of it.
Plesse don't take the negative comments to heart.

Most singers from this century become famous singing to a mic in their bedroom. No projection. No sense that they need an actual audience. Usually not live.Often no instruments. It gives a totally diffetent feel...which leaves me feeling disenfranchaised. And dissatisfied. I don't feel they're singing for me. There is no engagement. John goes out of his way to engage with his audience. Aurira does not. I can only assume she doesn't want me in her audience...it's just such a different approach.

Everyone is certainly welcome to his or her opinion! I hope you know that putting Aurora against John is not designed to be a competition! I really thought they both served it up their own way
I doubt Aurora was trying to mimic John
I think she was having fun singing a song very well.
Some said they couldn’t finish her part because of her movements
I understand that, but again to each his/her own but I enjoyed it
I remember my young ones acting like that and I enjoyed it so much
      Anyway, God Bless

@Saan42 she was very young in this video! Young girls especially tend to be self absorbed but not so much when they get older! Thanks Saan

Not knocking Aurora....just saying, some songs, particularly anthems should not be messed with..........this is one of them.
